“If he’s calling us to something, we don’t have to worry about what we lose in answering that call.”  A working theory of mine about discernment is that it leads you to what you really want. Yup, you read that right. You get what YOU really want. I believe this because I believe that when God designed us, he planted desire for his plans deep in our hearts. Our deepest desire and his desire are the same thing. Discernment is the process of sorting through all the lesser, fluffy layers and discovering that core desire, kind of like a miner goes through layers before striking gold.  Why am I introducing an episode about sex this way? Because discerning what we most deeply want for our relationships is the same thing as discovering God's plan for relationships. And that desire God has given us is chastity (no that's not synonymous with abstinence.) Chastity sounds boring, but it's incredibly life-giving. YES John and I as married people need to live out chastity...and I geek out a bit with our personal testimony of how that looks in married life.  Arleen Spenceley has been on the front lines of explaining and defending chastity for years, from publishing articles in newspapers with her testimony of happy virginity to writing her book Chastity is for Lovers. Whether you're single, married, or religious, you'll learn something new and be equipped to live both counter-culturally and happily. Topics Discussed How the martyrs had enough trust in God to die for him Chastity vs. abstinence: THEY’RE SO DIFFERENT The deep ache of wanting validation and how to deal with it The one indispensable thing you need to live out chastity How far is too far? It’s not like try to make your product magic keyword. It’s actually finding that right key word and then finding the product forward. It’s so important. It sounds backwards, but it’s actually the right way. You’ll also get the PPC blueprint course that is unbelievable. That’s Lee Ron teaching you all...

Sexual Addiction Next, assess their willingness to repent and to change. Ask them: "Are you willing to do whatever it takes to follow and obey Jesus Christ in this matter, (Matthew 7:21-23), even if He never takes away your same-sex attractions?” A commitment grounded in a love and respect for God and His character rather than "what’s in it for me” is what unleashes the power, favor and grace of God to transform a person’s life. They need to know and express sorrow over the fact that perverted sexual behavior is a sin (Romans 1:24-27) and truly repent (turn from) that sin (Matthew 4:17; Luke 13:3; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 John 1:9-10). Otherwise, they cannot be born again, which is a prerequisite for receiving the wisdom, counsel and power of the Holy Spirit to resist sin, and over time, to change. If someone remains unwilling to repent of perverted sexual practice, your fallback position is spiritual warfare prayer for their soul. That is the greater need and the one that makes possible any healing or deliverance that they might need. In your prayer for them, ask God to send His warring angels to fight for their soul (Psalm 91:11; Hebrews 1:14) – to remove the chains that bind them and the veil that blinds them (2 Corinthians 3:16; 4:4). Boldly go before the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16) on a regular basis and plead for their soul with confidence that God is hearing your prayer and that it will be answered with perfect timing. While it is true that God will not force them to repent and surrender to Christ as Lord, He knows exactly what it will take to enable them to say "Yes” (John 6:44-45,65). They can refuse Him, but that battle is never over until they draw their final breath. If someone who has repented, surrendered their life to Christ as Lord and asked for empowerment by the Holy Spirit to resist sin by God’s power (rather than their own).

With another shakeup at the State Department, Rex Tillerson will be replaced by hawkish CIA director Mike Pompeo. Donald Trump has continued to communicate that Mike Pompeo shares his values and understands him. This may be an important move with potential talks with North Korea BUT this beg the question. Should we be enacting diplomacy with strength and fear or cooperation and "love". The Foreign Service is going through growing pains during the Trump administration and funding is decreasing to the State Department whilst an increase in funding is being felt at the Department of Defense. How do we best gain the cooperation of our allies? How do we manage the relationships we have fostered over the years, that stand the test of time through presidential tenures? Well tune in and hear about this and the CIA's next potential leader and what?? Military parades? Yes John and Nate discuss that too.

005 | John Lee Dumas Explains Why Asking for Forgiveness is Better than Asking for Permission Welcome to today’s episode! I’m happy to have John Lee Dumas, the creator of the inspiring podcast, Entrepreneur On Fire. In today’s episode John shares with us how he’s followed the same philosophy for his entire life, “ask for forgiveness, rather than asking for permission,” and how that has helped shape his life. John has gone through life hearing A LOT of NO’s. It started even before his professional career began, but he quickly learned that for every 10 NO’s he received he’d receive 1 YES. So, he turned it into a game, and quickly became one of the top salesmen at his job at John Hancock. We all go through life hearing NO’s. It might be something we hear from our boss on a regular basis, or it may be something we experience in our business. The NO’s may not be a joy to hear, but they are learning experiences. It’s important to know that you have the power to turn those NO’s into YES’s. The key is you need to be willing to learn more about the process. Have you ever considered that making that one last phone call, reaching out to one last person, or connecting with one more influencer, could be your next step to a YES? John has you covered in this episode! Enjoy and Thank you for listening to Success Unfiltered! To share your thoughts: Leave a comment in the section below. Here’s what you’ll learn in this episode: Michelle introduces John Lee Dumas, as host of Entrepreneur ON Fire. Michelle asks John to share a story of rejection that he’s never shared with anyone before. John was told NO a lot in his pre-professional life. John tells an incredibly interesting story from his time in the US Army. Having thick skin is important, and John explains why. John shares an amazing analogy about road rage and taking things too personally when it comes to feedback. It was at his job with John Hancock that John realized the science behind getting YES’s. If you’re dreading the next sales call, make it a game! Put your Sherlock Holmes hat on and do the research on why someone said NO. John shares a story about how people told him a daily podcast would never work out, and how now people are afraid to cancel. John tells us what he’d say to his younger self, if given the opportunity.
