Every week, screenwriters Sade' Sellers and Chris Courtney Martin discuss modern horror films and how black actors and actresses were portrayed in them.
The Afro Horror podcast is an absolute gem in the horror podcast genre. From the moment I started listening, it instantly became one of my all-time favorites. The hosts provide a perfect blend of insightful discourse and captivating storytelling that keeps me hooked episode after episode. What sets this podcast apart is not just the content, but also the music. The haunting melodies perfectly complement the eerie atmosphere and further enhance the overall experience for horror enthusiasts like myself.
One of the best aspects of The Afro Horror podcast is its dedication to highlighting amazing creators who are often overlooked in other entertainment industry podcasts. It provides a platform for diverse voices and perspectives that are rarely given the spotlight they deserve. This commitment to showcasing unique talent adds depth and richness to each episode, making it a truly enriching experience for listeners.
However, like any podcast, The Afro Horror does have its shortcomings. While the hosts do an excellent job discussing and analyzing various horror topics, there are times when episodes can veer off track or lose focus on their main theme. This occasional lack of cohesion can make it challenging to follow along at times and can disrupt the flow of an otherwise engaging discussion.
In conclusion, The Afro Horror podcast is a fantastic listen for any horror fan out there. With its thought-provoking analysis, diverse representation of creators, and captivating storytelling, it has quickly become a must-listen in my rotation. Despite some minor issues with staying on topic at times, the overall quality and passion behind this podcast shine through in every episode. I eagerly await each new installment and highly recommend this podcast to anyone looking for a fresh take on the horror genre.
