Glad Tidings Assembly of God
Memorial Day reminds us that many sacrificed their lives for our freedoms. We have benefitted from their sacrifice. We live free because they sacrificed it all. And I wonder - Will our community say the same about us? Will our community look at the body of Christ in Anderson and say - we have benefitted from their sacrifice - we live free because they sacrificed much.
Tongues is one of the most complicated topics in church life. Why do we need tongues? Are they relevant to the believers life? In this message, Pastor Matt will explain why he "speaks in tongues."
Audio teaching from our Worship Team Meeting in May of 2018. We covered the topic of going with the flow of the Holy Spirit in the context of a Sunday morning service.
Mother's Day Message - 2018 Jesus calls the broken to be made whole.
Jesus has called all to follow him and fulfill their God-given purpose. We are told in Ephesians 4 to live worthy of the calling on our lives. Many people to not guard their lives because they do not perceive the calling placed on them. Do we value what God has deposited into our soul?
Can these bones live? The Spirit is asking us this question as we look at the broken places in our lives. And more often than not, the Lord will take us back and forth over those places of brokenness so that we might be made whole.
Perhaps the most important question ever asked of any group or person at any time in history was asked by Jesus. But what about you? Who do you say I am? We, too, must answer that question.
Jesus is our soon coming King! But what does that even mean? What will his return look like? How does that truth apply to my life now?
John the baptist spoke of one who would come baptizing in the Holy Spirit and with fire. Jesus was that baptizer and the baptism in the Holy Spirit is still available today for all followers of Jesus, empowering us to direct lost and disconnected souls back to Jesus as the savior.
Jesus is our healer. Christ's sacrifice did more than just cleanse us of sin, it also paid the price for our sickness. Our healing was paid for on the cross.
We begin our look at our four core doctrines as a church starting with Jesus is our savior.
Today's message focuses on our core values as a church. Why is it we do what we do?
What values are instilled in our families? The truth is that so many families today are struggling within their own family dynamics. Value, faithfulness, and forgiveness are integral to the life of the home. Are we instilling these values to the ones we love most?
We must be wholly dedicated to Jesus as he begins to work the miraculous in and through us.
How long will we wait until we push back the darkness in our areas of influence? The Holy Spirit has empowered us. Embrace his purpose.
In order to THRIVE we must remember that people, events, and process are not to be worshipped. What is God saying today? Are we using his Word as the filter for his move or our past experiences?
2018 is our year to thrive - as individuals, as families, as a church. The first step to thriving is to learn how to lead ourselves well. We cannot lead anyone else to the promised land if we ourselves are not in obedience to God and his ways.
Jesus came to reestablish relationship between Creator and his creation. That reality is still alive today.
The angels declared that there would be peace on earth because of the baby, the savior born to mankind. And yet...our world seems to be anything but peaceful. How is peace found? The answer to that question was found in the manger.
All I want for Christmas is to know Jesus and make him known. I am purposed to reflect God's goodness and grace and direct people to Jesus, the savior of the world.
When storms come in life and shake us to our core, how do we respond? God's grace will use those moments to show us whether we are building our lives on the solid rock of Christ...or elsewhere.
Jesus gave thanks. This opened the windows of heaven over a vast multitude mentioned in all four gospels. What lesson was Jesus teaching us?
How can be be perpetually thankful? Paul told us we need to be giving thanks continually. Where do we even begin?
Am I content? What are the symptoms of a discontented soul? How do we become content? Good questions...tough answers.
The Lord is reopening the wells of revival. The enemy will do everything possible to stop it. We must not surrender. Our community needs Jesus and his refreshing.
Paul gave some instructions to the Corinthian church regarding order in their services. What were they and how do the apply to our contemporary church context?
We are people of the Spirit. We believe the gifts and outpouring of the Holy Spirit is for today. But we must recognize is that love is central to our beliefs. Without love, all the other efforts will fall on deaf ears.
Jesus gave gifts to the church. He purchased them with his life. They mattered when the church began. They matter now. However, we often misunderstand their use and do not know where we fit in.
In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul uses an extended metaphor to show the negative interaction between body parts. Although humorous, within the text are some directives that we must keep in order to walk together in unity.
Today, we discuss the last 3 of 9 gifts of the spirit - faith, healing, and miracles.
As we began last week, the gifts of the spirit are to be for the common good of the church and are to help propel and empower us to reach a lost world. How does that work with the gifts of prophecy, tongues, and the interpretation of tongues?
The gifts of the Spirit are for today and are for the common good. So...what does that mean? What is the common good? What are the gifts of the Spirit?
We are unashamedly Pentecostal/Charismatic people. We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit are for today.
We often don't recognize idolatry in our lives or in the church...and yet, it exists. Idolatry occurs when we take something that is common and we elevate it to a place of sacredness in our lives. What have we allowed to take God's place?
The final room of the Tabernacle of Moses was the Holy of Holies. Here we see the manifest presence of God take up residence. His presence was a priority...as it should be today.
Within the Inner Court, we come across 3 object - the Table of Shewbread, the Golden Lampstand, and the Altar of Incense. These objects direct us to 3 essential spiritual disciplines we must practice in order to draw closer to Jesus.
God gave Moses instructions for making the tabernacle and Moses was instructed to follow every detail because it was divine pattern. God has provided a specific way for us to approach him and within the pattern of the tabernacle, we find some clear directives.
Whether we care to admit it or not, our experiences, our week, our family situations, our finances...all issues of life play a part in how we are able to enter into worship. God desires that we break free of the many distractions and enter into his presence. He is, after all, able to handle any situation thrown our way.
Jesus concluded his parables of the lost objects by using a story about a lost son. This lost son willfully left his father's house in search of his own way on his own terms. He soon found out that sin has a price. But that wasn't where the story ended.
The coin was lost. It didn't know it was lost. It didn't care that it was lost. It had no idea the woman was searching for it. So it is with many in our society. They want nothing to do with God. They do not feel like they are lost. How do we reach them?
Jesus left the 99 for the 1. Will we be that passionate in reaching those who have been ostracized by culture?
We know what we should do to grow in Christ...but we don't always do it. In this special Mother's Day message, Ketura explains what it takes to not fall off the path God has set for us and how to stay spiritually healthy.
How are we to biblically and practically handle interpersonal conflict? In this message, we answer a few questions to aid us in doing just that.
Have you ever been in conflict with someone else? We all have. The Bible prescribes a proper way to work through conflict. In fact, handling conflict biblically, practically, and appropriate actually opens the door for the gospel.
Message from special guests and missionary associates to the Philippines, Doug and Kristi Allee.
Is Jesus really who he claimed to be? And if he is, what response should that bring out of me?
What would it take for us to walk away from Jesus? For those following him after the triumphal entry, a few events challenged the crowd's motives and revealed that their following was dependent upon Jesus doing what they expected him to do. Why do we follow Jesus?
