Mary sat down attentively before the Master, absorbing every revelation he shared. But Martha became exasperated with finishing the numerous household chores in preparation for her guests, so she interrupted Jesus and said, “Lord, don't you think it's unfair that my sister left me to do all the work by myself? You should tell her to get up and help me.” The Lord answered her, “Martha, my beloved Martha. Why are you upset and troubled, pulled away by all these many distractions? The people around us may have great intentions, but they may not be able to see the vision God has given you. It may not be for them to see or support at this time. There comes a time in all of our Christian walks where we must do what God has called us to whether we have the support of those whom we love or not. As you embark on a journey of spiritual evaluation make sure you ask God which wounds are self inflicted due to me not letting go of things you never intended for me to carry? In the final hour leading up to the death of Jesus do you know what was on his mind? You. He was concerned about you. Even though he was preparing to suffer an unimaginable death, and even though he did nothing to deserve to die he was still concerned more about you then himself. Jesus was so concerned about us that he used his very last breath to convey that concern when he pleaded with God on our behalf and said "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." He articulated in more ways then one that he loved us, was concerned about us, and that he wanted us to be reconciled to the Father despite of all the things we have done and continue to do as individuals who are born into sin. There is so much going on in the world today that peace may not be easy to come by. It's important to turn our eyes back to the one who died for our sins and use the words he said to point us in the right direction. If this episode touches you please share it. After conferring with his officers, he said, “I will set up my camp in such and such a place.” 9 The man of God sent word to the king of Israel: “Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there.” 10 So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places. 11 This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them, “Tell me! Which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?” 12 “None of us, my lord the king,” said one of his officers, “but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.” 13 “Go, find out where he is,” the king ordered, “so I can send men and capture him.” The report came back: “He is in Dothan.” 14 Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city. 15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. 16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/greaterisgod/support

Sometimes you pray and you plan but things just do not go your way.  Here are two verses I want you to reflect on as you submit to God's plan for your life. Proverbs 19:21 "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." Proverbs 16:9 "A man's heart plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps." --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/greaterisgod/support

In this episode we discuss how we can sometimes be guilty of manipulating situations in order to produce our ideal outcome. I challenge all my listeners to think about what God wants for them before they dwell to heavily on what they want for themselves. The bible says in Proverbs 3:6, "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." This is important if we want to go the right direction. I hope this episode impacts you to acknowledge Christ before doing anything. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/greaterisgod/support

Can I be honest? We live in a generation that love things to happen instantly. We want things to happen now. We don't like waiting. We prefer to get the prophecy and the blessing within the same day. But if we look at biblical stories we can see that there would sometimes be years between the receiving the prophecy and walking the promise. Who or what has control over you? Self-discipline is defined as the ability to control one's feelings and overcome one's weaknesses; the ability to pursue what one thinks is right despite temptations. When you make the decision to exercise self discipline in any giver circumstance you are likely better off than giving into the temptation of immediate gratification. The word of God talks about self discipline and encourages us as believers to practice self-control, and to live a discipline life. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/greaterisgod/support
