Three hours of high drama, recorded live at Nowadays in New York. We know what you're thinking: why did it take so long to get Binh on the RA Podcast? There's no easy answer, especially given that he's been a favourite of ours for over a decade now. So to make up for lost time, the revered digger lands on the series with a tantalising three-hour mix, recorded live at Nowadays in New York earlier this year. Crammed with rare and unreleased gems spanning house, techno, and electro, RA.989 is heavy on drama, catching the Düsseldorf native in unbridled performance mode. This is Binh in 2025. But rewind across the past two decades and you'll find a DJ who excels in pretty much any situation, whether warming up for Zip or Margaret Dygas, going back-to-back with masters like Nicolas Lutz or rolling out solo sets that stretch across ten or even 12 hours. He's acted out all these scenarios most often at Berlin institution Club der Visionaere, the cosy canalside club that became a kind-of spiritual home. (He'd sometimes spend every night of the week there, before parenting duties got the better of him.) To play for half a day you need a lot of records, and the backbone of Binh's craft has long been a freakish passion for vinyl. Along with Lutz, Vera, and others in CDV's orbit, he approaches the pursuit of wax, new and old, with next-level dedication and a fondness for blind buys. That's true of RA.989, although among the un-Shazamables are many tracks that are either out or coming out on Binh's popular Time Passages label. The mix finds him on a house-y tip, luxuriating in roomy basslines, driving 303s and twinkly melodies—with just the right amount of evil. Lock in and savour a one-of-a-kind DJ, completely in the zone. @binh Find the interview at ra.co/podcast/989

Vi ratear/roastar IGN:s tiopoängare genom tiderna!Listan: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Reviewed by Kristine Steimer November 25, 1998 "The new benchmark for interactive entertainment has arrived. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the fifth official installment in Nintendo's popular action adventure series is finally here, and like its NES predecessor in 1987 it is a game so enjoyable, it has the power to pull videogame players into its imaginative worlds -- and refuse to let go for days. Call us crazy, but when the final version of Zelda 64 arrived in the IGN64 offices, we stopped working, locked ourselves into a room with a big-screen TV and a surround system and played 17 hours straight. After only a few hours of sleep, we were back for more and we couldn't stop until we finished the game. Then, we started over again to find all the secrets. Rarely is there such a perfect mixture of graphics, sound, and gameplay that even the most cynical players will admit that Zelda 64 is poised to shape the action RPG genre for years to come." Pokemon Red Reviewed by Craig Harris June 23, 1999 "Pokemon really is worthy of being one of the Game Boy system's greatest games - it's not just a fad, a craze, or trend. If you don't have this game in your library, pick one up, it doesn't matter if you pick Blue or Red, they're both the same game. You'll just have to make sure you've got a friend with the other version if you want to catch 'em all." Pokemon Blue Reviewed by Craig Harris June 23, 1999 "Pokemon really is worthy of being one of the Game Boy system's greatest games - it's not just a fad, a craze, or trend. You'll just have to make sure you've got a friend with the other version if you want to catch 'em all." Checkered Flag Reviewed by Robert A. Jung July 6, 1999 "This is a high-performance title that does nothing but pure video racing, and does it extremely well. Crammed with exciting gameplay, fast action, options galore, hot sound and graphics, and true multiplayer challenge, Checkered Flag is absolutely terrific!" Joust Reviewed by Robert A. Jung July 6, 1999 "Joust is another unbelievably excellent product from Shadowsoft. Players who never played the arcade title will be captivated by its simple rules, deep strategy, and fast action, while the legions of arcade Joust fans will be in video-gaming heaven!" Super Mario Bros. Deluxe Reviewed by Craig Harris July 21, 1999 "Super Mario Bros. remains one of my top 10 favorite games of all-time, even though it's almost a decade and a half old. Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is such a perfect translation, it makes me wonder if it's easy to port NES games to the Game Boy Color. Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is the Game Boy Color-specific game to own, hands down, and will be the title that, hopefully, will key a revolution of porting NES games to the handheld system. Buy this game. Now." The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX Reviewed by Adam Cleveland September 17, 1999 "If that's not enough to set your minds on gaming fire, then you seriously need a reality check, because The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening has never been anything but one of the top video games of all time, and its latest, enhanced version is nothing short of perfect. For years to come and then some, it will continue to remain one of my all-time favorite adventures, and unless someone puts a couple of gun barrels to my head, my opinions won't be swayed. If you don't already own Zelda DX, there's no reason from this point on that you shouldn't. So hop in your car and step on the gas, 'cause the best Game Boy game of all time has been for sale for quite some time, and you're missing out on oceans of fun." Soulcalibur Reviewed by Anoop Gantayat September 20, 1999 "Few games come to mind as "required purchases," games that are so good that they have to be a part of your lineup. The original Soul Edge was such a game, and now Soul Calibur has earned a place alongside its brother. It may or may not be the most complicated fighting game out there - I'm not bold enough to make such a statement. I am bold enough, though, to state that I've never had so much fun with a fighting game than I had when playing Soul Calibur." Mario Golf (Game Boy Color) Reviewed by Craig Harris October 5, 1999 "Guys and gals, I don't care if you're not into golf, you must add Mario Golf to your library of Game Boy Color games. This game is the perfect title to complement your collection. It's got tons of variety, pick-up-and-play controls, N64 connectivity... and it's great fun, especially in the later levels. The early challenges from the pros are decidedly easy to get through ¿ you'll see them throw easy, five foot putts to give you the lead. But when you go up against Mario in the Tournaments, watch out. Mario Golf is by far the best portable version of golf, and it even comes close to toppling some of the PC golf offerings as well." Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition Reviewed by Craig Harris October 19, 1999 "There's a reason why Pokemon is so successful, it's an excellent game. The game isn't incredibly deep, but the incentive of catching new creatures for your personal collection is a strong enough force to get you going to the end. The game is super easy to pick up and play, yet it's challenging it its own right. And it's addictive. After playing both Pokemon Red/Blue and then Yellow, I have to say that Pokemon Yellow is the best version to start out on the whole Pokemon craze." Sonic Pocket Adventure Reviewed by Craig Harris December 7, 1999 "I am really, really stunned at how well Sonic Pocket Adventure turned out on the NeoGeo Pocket Color ¿ the system needed a platform game, and Sonic delivers big-time. There are minor slowdown glitches, but not enough to distract from the overall game experience. The cartridge is truly brimming with gaming options that will keep you coming back, especially if you're lucky enough to have access to two systems. SNK really delivers the goods on another company's mascot, and Sonic Pocket Adventure is a cartridge no handheld library should be without. Yes, it has to be said: this game is a system-seller." SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium Reviewed by Craig Harris January 4, 2000 "As far as I'm concerned, this is the perfect handheld fighter, no question about it. The Capcom license gives players a familiar feel as well as introducing newcomers to the SNK library of fighters. The game isn't exactly a challenge right off the bat, but once you move the difficulty setting from Normal to Hard (there's two more after that: Brutal and Gamer), good luck. The computer AI can get downright nasty. And the Olympic mode really puts your Street Fighter abilities to test - let's just see how far you can get. SNK just keeps doing the right stuff with its portable...let's hope the Capcom tradition continues. The Ghouls 'N Ghosts minigame just BEGS to be converted into the full-fledged game. Let's have it, people..." Källa: IGN INDIA

A RNZ investigation has uncovered yet another case of large numbers of migrants crammed into a three-bedroom home in West Auckland. The home in Massey has 17 bunkbeds, and at one point had workers living in makeshift space underneath the house - a video showed workers eating in the cavity, with dirt and pebble ground beneath their feet. One worker said the house at one point had 22 people living in it, sharing two toilets, and a makeshift kitchen on the deck. He said he's only had a month of work since he arrived in August and is expected to pay $150 per week for this accommodation. It comes three months after the case of over 140 Indian and Bangladeshi workers living in crammed and unsanitary conditions across six Auckland homes. Migrant advocate Anu Kaloti spoke to Corin Dann.

In every medium where superheroes exist, there are characters that spoof the genre. Some, (like the Tick), carry their own parody comics & shows. But others exist within the world of their property (as a show within a show) where these meta heroes are enjoyed by the already fictional characters of that property (like Radioactive Man is to Bart Simpson). So, up and atom, gentle listener, because in this episode, we gonna cover it all! You can now spell Adult Swim with a capital 'Eh'....On this very special episode we are diving into the some home grown talent and the first ever Canadian produced show to end up on Adult Swim.  It's time for 'Psi Cops'.This new animated comedy series follows unjustifiably bold and unnecessarily creative coworker friends forever (CFFs) Kydd (Chris Nielsen) and Felixx (Bart Batchelor) who are top detectives at the paranormal agency Psi Cops. Crammed into a shady office complex and helmed by true believer, Chief Beef, this rag-tag group of "experts" head out in the field as they investigate alleged sightings of aliens, ghosts, demons, and other hocus-pocus nonsense. Their intention is to solve mysteries and supernatural crimes using their overly competent incompetence.A hilarious slice of the absurd which is airing now on Adult Swim and is available on demand via STACK TV is more then worth your time.  We had the unique pleasure to sit down with stars and creators Bart Batchelor and Chris Nielsen before the premiere to talk about the origins of the show, the absurdity of it all and now eventually releasing it into the universe.'Psi Cops' is airing on Adult Swim Canada and is on demand via STACK TV now.

Eastern Europe and Central Asia is the region of the world where HIV acquisitions are increasing the fastest. In Ukraine, an estimated 260,000 people are living with HIV. Many thousands more are vulnerable to acquiring HIV and rely on access to HIV prevention services. In this episode of HIV unmuted, the IAS podcast, we hear how the Russian invasion of Ukraine could mean a resurgence of Ukraine's AIDS epidemic. And in a region with an already rapidly growing HIV epidemic, this could be a public health disaster. Our guests are:Valeriia Rachinska from 100% Life, the largest organization of people living with HIV in Ukraine, experienced a Russian invasion when Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. After that, she's not afraid to fight, but she's afraid to live under Russian occupation. Despite this fear, she stays to help where she is desperately needed.Andriy Klepikov never thought he would be an internally displaced person. Crammed into an office with seven other people and two pets, he tells us how he continues to lead the Alliance for Public Health, delivering critical HIV services.Michel Kazatchkine is an Advisor to the World Health Organization in the region and the former UN Secretary-General Special Envoy on HIV in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. He helps us understand why the HIV epidemic in the region continues to grow and why this war is both a catastrophe for public health and an extraordinary mobilization of solidarity. If you want to help those in need in Ukraine, click on the links below to donate:  ALLIANCE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH AND 100% LIFE If you are listening to this episode before 29 July 2022 and want to learn more about how conflict impacts people living with HIV and the latest scientific breakthroughs in the HIV response, attend the 24th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2022) virtually or in-person in Montreal.
