Jesus invites us to embrace refreshment—a renewal of our souls as we step into the new year. We reflect on the challenges we've faced, the strength we've discovered, and the hope that sustains us, choosing to celebrate this moment with tenacious joy and gratitude. Jesus' invitation: “come to me, all you who are weary” reminds us to seek rest and restoration not as a luxury but as a sacred necessity, reconnecting with the divine rhythm of life. Refreshment begins with simple practices: rest that honors our body and soul and actions that fit who we authentically are.We are called to slow down, to savor life rather than rush through it, trusting that God's way is not a burden but a gentle, well-fitting invitation tailored to our unique selves. By finding one practice—a prayer, a song, or an act of kindness—that refreshes us, we align with the divine love that sustains and empowers us. Together, with refreshed souls, we can love and serve in ways that refresh the world, carrying forward the light of grace, connection, and hope into all we do.

Q60. How is the sabbath to be sanctified? The sabbath is to be sanctified by a holy resting all that day, even from such worldly employments and recreations as are lawful on other days; and spending the whole time in the public and private exercises of God's worship, except so much as is to be taken up in the works of necessity and mercy.

Biblical Talks  It's often said that if you've reached a certain age without encountering problems, you haven't lived long enough. Life inevitably brings various struggles. But what truly matters is how we address them. Thus, it is during those times that we need spiritual refreshment and a word of hope and life.  In this installment of Biblical Talks, SD and Lady V delve into Psalm 22:1-2 and Psalm 23:1-6 from the New Living Translation. These passages reveal King David's struggles and his methods for coping with the issues that brought him great distress. The entire book of Psalms reflects the various peaks and valleys of life.  So, where did David get his spiritual refreshment? Where did he go to get a word of hope and life? David sought spiritual refreshment through prayer and meditation on God's Word, as reflected in the Psalms. He turned to God to receive words of hope and life, finding solace and strength in his faith.  With the above scripture in mind, here are a couple questions for you. Have you read Psalm 22:1-2 and Psalm 23:1-6.  If so, what are your thoughts? If not, no worries, we've got you covered. This is your time to receive the Gift of Salvation through Christ Jesus.  Now, you may be wondering, "Why do I need that?" Oh, I'm so glad you asked. The Bible says, that because  Adam ate fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil -- he released sin into the world.  And ultimately, Adam's sin brought death and death spread to everyone.  No doubt, you may be thinking, "Of course, everyone is going to die." But, my question to you is "Where will you spend eternity?" Because there is life after death. In fact, when you die you go to one of two places -- heaven or hell.  Also, it is important to understand that, Adam's sin also brought an eternity in hell. But for those who choose not to receive the free gift of eternal life. Thus, you must make that choice before you take your last breath.  Romans 5:17 New Living Translation says,  “For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.”  To sum it all up, Romans 6:23 New Living Translation says,  “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”  So, if you are reading this, don't let another day go by without receiving this life-changing gift.  Scripture   Romans 10:8-10 New Living Translation says,  “8 …“The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach:  9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”  Salvation Prayer  Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins. I ask You to forgive me. I want to follow You, Jesus. I believe in my heart that God raised you from the dead. By faith, I receive You, Jesus Christ, and your gift of grace. Come into my heart, into my life, and be my Lord and Savior.  Listen to We R S.H.E.Talks Podcast

Life can be hectic. Between the long commutes, the frantic work weeks, family obligations, and church involvement, it's a miracle we ever find time to rest. But God not only wants to give you rest, He wants to give you nourishment for your soul, the kind of sustenance that increases your joy level as well as your energy level. Today, Ron takes us to a familiar passage in the book of Psalms, where King David says, “He makes me lie down in green pastures.”  What does it mean? What does it look like in real life?   --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/something-good-radio/support

"Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways, and you'll discover that I'm gentle, humble, and easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me.” — ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭29‬ ‭TPT‬‬I've been on a journey, seeking to understand God's unforced rhythms of grace. This week, that journey took me through the release of a new digital course. Instead of succumbing to the pressure of working 12 hours a day, I embraced a new rhythm: spending late afternoons playing golf with my husband. This choice to balance work and play brought a refreshing change. God wants to give rest to our souls, but it's up to us to choose it. I've been having deep conversations with God about life-work balance, and prioritizing time with Jesus through prayer, reading His Word, journaling, and walking in nature. These practices have become essential for the well-being of my soul. Simplifying my meals, like baking chicken and making a salad, has also contributed to this better balance. On top of it all, my golf game has seen remarkable improvement. Just yesterday, I chipped in a ball on hole 12, found myself mostly two-putting, and figured out my driver alignment. On a par 3, I hit my 7 iron onto the green and made par. These moments have been a testament to God's goodness. Join me as I share these insights and more, exploring how to integrate faith, work, and life in a way that brings true rest and refreshment. If you want to check out my 100 days of Creating with God course click here: https://stan.store/sarathurman/p/100-days-of-creating-with-god

Wood that's been split and sawn, and sanded and shaped can make some fine furniture. But if our compassion should get the best of us and we didn't want to see that wood face that stress, most of us would just have some chunks of tree sitting in our living rooms. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out how the sanding and shaping in our lives helps us mature into the kind of people God wants us to be. Good encouragement coming today.
