Urmila By Shakeel Aazmi This poem makes one wonder of all those characters in a lifetime who even after contributing so much to our lives... remain so unknown to us. The poet establishes how little is known n said about Urmila... how easily she is not talked at all about... yet even the sarv antaryaami ( Urmila ke wo magar bhaav se anjaan bhi the ) not much of the state of mind n being of Urmila...! And if this is the State of Ram, woh " jo Ram Raja bhi the, Insan bhi, Bhagwan bhi the"..! Then we are merely Humans and further the ones who have distanced so much from Humanity. it's not about taking excuse here, but expressing gratitude for the contributors of whom little or nothing is known yet whose significance is immense.

High tide. The universe doesn't respond to a lie. No matter how hard you try. The truth will not be denied. It doesn't judge. And it doesn't choose sides. It just attaches to the frequency and matches the vibe. The universe doesn't respond to a lie. It's the space in between where the stars live and die. There's a black hole sitting in the iris of my eye. So it sucks the world in and then gets lost in my mind. The universe does not respond to a lie. It connects then reflects,to the deeper truth inside. I am a sand castle. But I fell in love with the high tide. And if she takes me away, It's all a part of the ride.

The Title poem to his book Inquire Within, IN-Q through Prayers explains to me one's journey of one's relationship with one's own self. I feel it when he says... "sudden and unexpected need to surrender". With the intent to reach the same to the listener... Inquire Within.

Storing and building on beliefs and leading them to reality is heart wrenching. But getting trapped into is .........! "So, if you don't like your story, don't believe it." These lines took me to the world of Inquire Within...by IN-Q.

Though I don't know the title of this one... I would like to call it...FLAWSOME. Nature teaches us in its natural way. Though every line gives an awesome message, few lines that hit close: The truth without Agenda is Authentically Astounding...! You have to be willing not to be liked in order to be loved..! No one's living in a catalogue IKEA dreamed up. A caterpillar doesn't know that she'll become a butterfly.

The festival of Holi.... Celebrates the SPRING.....The flowers of palaash ( કેસૂડાં) ... On the leafless trees, resembling lamps of hope amidst the darkness of several confusions. સહુને સઘળું ભૂલવાળી દે આ અવસરની આડે, સઘળી અવઢવ સળગાવી દે આ હોળીની ઝાળે. Burning down the doubts in the Pious Holi Fire and welcoming the spring season as in ફાગણ. Take forward the gulal rangya sapna .. however... Take it moment by moment. Colour yourself in gulal, ચાલ ચેહરા ને શણગારી લે નવરંગ ધરી ગાલે adorn yourself to celebrate each jhinkling (રણઝણતી) moment as it comes to you....!

As the year ends .. the wrap up of a sorts. maiñ nahīñ huuñ naġhma-e-jāñ-fazā mujhe sun ke koī karegā kyā

Any description of this shall never be enough...too little can be written to the immense feelings this Dhruv Geet evokes within me.

Everyone is made for their own self...how we mistake that just one other person amongst the billions in the world is made for us. Only we are made for ourselves. To make it work with someone it needs hard work, understanding, compassion, communication and above all it needs CHOICE.

In the normalcy of daily lives, we tend to simply forget that whatever we possess is only momentary (till the breath lasts us). Even animal skin after death is of better use than human skin (in which humans take pride), which reduces to mere ashes. The intelligence of 10 brains and might of 20 arms, having perpetual inheritance of wealth and wisdom - erodes with pride turned into ego. There is no solace in the belief that neither are our strengths comparable to that of Lankapati, nor is our pride. We shall all burn into our small Lankas and of our own ego. When everything is momentary and illusionary - being graciously grateful and humble in VYAVHAAR shall relieve us from BHAVJAL.

अगर मुझे मेरे ख़ुशी के पल और दुःख की यादों के बदले विश्व भर की धन सम्पदा भी मिले तो भी मैं धन की इच्छा नहीं रखता...! कोई भी अब मेरी कमियों आकलन न करें, वह स्वयं ही महान बना रहे। मेरे हृदय की वेदना ही मेरी संपत्ति और मेरी धरोहर है।

Empathising yet in pain ..can it be a reality? Maintaining faith that empathy shall bring compassion... from ones ownself to ones ownself for ones ownself

Being social beings we consciously or naturally are always sharing, developing and sustaining meaningful relationships with others. This makes one feel authentic and valued, provides a sense of connectedness and belonging. How often do then we forget to connect to ourselves? Bhajan is a way to connect to one's own self. This song emphasizes Bhajan, the absence of the same can cause emotional imbalance. And yes, Detachment is not, not being attached ever but it is being aware of the attachment.

The limited idea of being together is also agreeing on everything. That's not a reality. Respecting the differences is also a great form of being together. Same goes with self love, we can't expect ourselves of being the same way all the time ...we must allow ourselves to flow naturally shajar hajar nahīñ ki ham hamesha pā-ba-gil raheñ Meaning we are not stones or plants to remain restrained. We are humans, we feel different things at different times. Allow yourself to be yourself.

What I love about poetry and what amuses me about poetry is not just that there is usually another meaning than the one you initially think but also how just one emotion is expressed by every poet in a very different way... Poetry tells me there are infinite ways to express each n every emotion....if every poem is a poet's way of expressing, poet's story...then Every reading of poetry, every recitation, every interpretation, every listening, of the poem is the reader's, reciter's, listener's emotions & story. My line... હૈયે ભભરાવી જોઈ લીલુડી લાગણી ....તો સમજણ માં પડી ગયા કાણા.

To all those who hold emotions to eternity. Life is unpredictable. Your loved ones might not be around/you might not be around to express your Gratitude on some future TOMORROW! Once said say it again, holding emotions does no good for anyone.

Kabir in his mystical ways, is comparing the separation of the individual from the universal self like that of a bride from her beloved. He explains that this insatiable thirst comes from the feeling of separation whose roots lie in DUALITY. In the final signature note Kabir revels that the only way to reach the beloved is not outside but inside (similar to a dreamlike state) which alone will satisfy the seemingly unending burning thirst.

This is about a void... Unnoticed yet felt...like all poems this one too.. means different with every reading..the lines i love here are... जो कट कर भी लकड़ी नहीं बनते, और जमे रहकर भी वृक्ष नहीं, न घर है न जंगल !

Nature is always changing. Seasons rotate, rivers flow, trees dry and regreen. It's telling us that the only reality is in being alive - becoming & unbecoming something, in being & un-being. So lets just learn to live in the now "સાંપડ્યો સમય પગથી માથા બોળ જીવી લે ગણવા જામા ટેકરા ખાડા રે"

Poetry therapy includes increased self and interpersonal awareness, increased sense of validation in voicing one's truth, and an enhanced capacity to capture and reframe significant life stories. Poetry is emotionally touching because of the sharp acuteness in which each, single, word means so much. I love poetry, mostly because there is usually another meaning than the one what you initially think.

The importance of hard work can never be underestimated. In the seemingly fast and technological advanced times..we find it incredibly difficult to wait, for things to happen, for dreams to turn true. Efforts + Patience is the only thing demanded of us, in the process to achieving we also become better individuals... "Roz kuch bante rehne ka maza hi kuch aur hai". Waqt ko waqt Deejiye till we can call it a day

All days are not the same. This for a not ok day. It takes a while to realise...that it's one of those days where one feels low for no particular reason. And yet it takes time till afternoon to accept that its "just another day, ये दिन भी बीत जाएगा...! Just a soothing feel of the poetry where life becomes an old book full of..."अनजान कविताओं का सैलाब"...

Ran Nimantran..a story poetry... Two things about this poem... The beautiful description of Sri Krishna in his sleep... And the line... "Hey Veer, Tum bolo suvakya vivek se"... Though experts have praised LORD'S smartness in giving his equal contribution opportunity to Kaurav n Pandav.... All I see is Arjun's conduct, clear presentation and even clearer understanding in the line : "Shri Krishna rahtein hai jahan, sab siddhiyan rehti vanhi"..

The poem says that freedom is not an outside phenomenon... It is internal relates to the Mann. Escaping responsibilities, running away from challenges is the biggest trap, its suffocating, its killing progress, its killing life. Be ready to protect your self respect at the cost of your breath even. Anything that hurts your self respect gives birth to something even greater than "Swabhiman". Purpose of life is not fame, money, happiness, spirituality, knowledge or intellect.. Purpose of life is life itself. Selflessly live this freedom.. Live life

In this one, the poet is in conversation with Dev, the Lord....! Comparing the perfections and certainty in the heavens abode, with imperfections, changes, uncertainty in real life... She says... Instead of striving for perfections Let us embrace letting grow and progress as is, without refinement. The beauty of life is in happiness and sadness, true happiness is in change - in Parivartan The poet literally says....  प्रेम का महत्त्व तो वियोग से, बिछड़ने से ही मालूम होता है। जिसने जलना नहीं जाना, मिटना नहीं सीखा, उसे जीवन कैसे कह सकते हैं? मुझे तो यही गतिशील संसार पसंद है। हे भगवान! मधुर पीड़ा से मर मिटने का अधिकार दो अर्थात् मुझे इसी लोक में छोड़ दो।(assuming all is perfect in amar lok, in Heaven).

Gopaldas "Neeraj" is my favorite poet because of the Feeling in this poem, which is also central to many of his poems that absolutely made me. My first season was Neeraj and after pretty long I am adding an episode to it, yet again the same EMOTION. The emotion of relentless aspiration, the emotion of moving forward no matter what, the emotion of making way with a smile

Shoonya is literally zero in the Indian numbering system, the place from which all things begin. It is also a term in Buddhist thought, usually translated as emptiness or nothingness. In Sanskrit, one of its primary meanings is empty space or void. This Poem by Zakir Khan, very much written in the now, sways through one's mental state during an extreme failure. For a person who is constantly building within self, knows that the emptiness, the SHOONYA is not where it ends (as bhawnaayein ab khatm hai) , but where it starts. That journey, where in a moment one is "Beech raah ki Maat" but in another is also "Sab se jo mein mahan hoon". It is relatable to the one who has felt extremely week in one moment, but as optimistically never endingly (Main jal-prawah nihaar hoon) kept on with the efforts, kept faith in one's own self.

This poem written in the present, reads my heart out...! The social conditioning in our upbringing is so pervasive that even the most capable of females still faces the dilemma to default permission seeking from their male counterpart. And here Anamika takes the blame on self, and says my favorite line "मेरी ज़ंजीर की ताकत तैय करनेवाले तुम नहीं में खुद थी ", and finally not arguing but putting the point, "मुझे किसी ऐसी डोर से न बांधना जिसकी पकड़ तुम्हारे हाथ में हो, बल्कि ऐसी डोर से बांधना जिसकी उड़ानमें एक दुसरे का साथ हो !"

So self explanatory is this that, there is no need to add a word. Yet, just the underlying idea is - Hypocrisy, such a universal human trait. Everyone is either externally or internally hit by it. What is dangerous though is internal hypocrisy. And thence by favorite line is: असमंजस मे निर्विकार हो बैठे ज्यों गीता के उपदेश हमी पर बीते हैं Let's just introspect.

Samvedna, Sympathy....an understanding of other people's feelings. This poem could sound hopeless, insensitive towards genuinely compassionate people. But hey is there any one who is so compassionate? who after hearing your pain, won't feel thankful for their painlessness? and so the poet says: " Who sympathizes with other's pain, is simply hiding the joy of his own painlessness It's curse of world that one's sorrow is another's happiness" This is the path indeed where every traveler is alone. हम खुदही खुदसे रूठकर खुदही मान जाया करतें है, हम ऐसेही जिंदगीके पलोंको बेवजह ज़ाया करतें है ये बेवजही कुछ सिखाभी जाए गर हम फिर इसे भूलकर खुदसे रूठनेका सिलसिला आबाद क्यों रखते है ?

The most dangerous thing is the demise of our dreams. Isn't it quite an irony that the dead are fearing the death? The poet creates a visual of the most horrifying situations and then says.... All of that may be bad but not as dangerous as the death of dreams. Not as dangerous as becoming numb to what's happening around, and not raising voice. However my favourite line is.... सबसे ख़तरनाक वो घड़ी होती है आपकी कलाई पर चलती हुई भी जो आपकी नज़र में रुकी होती है. This one shakes my conscience every time.

ધ્રુવ ભટ્ટ ... ના સુંદર પુસ્તક માંથી આ થોડી ગીત કવિતા ની વાત .....in these many small segments he says... Only choosing words and rhyming them is not poetry....poetry has no ownership.... Poetry is a reflection... Poetry is Introspection.... Poetry to me is an interaction, with the self... For the one who writes, for the one who listens, for the one who recites and for the one who connects

Success and Failures are meare journey. Having the courage to continue after failure is important, but what's even more important is continuing after success. In this beautiful poem is the mention of the final destination GHAR - Home, but who knows where the final home or what it is? Till the Answers are found, "Musafirana" hi kya bura hai? In these times where every expression has unlimited possibilities of being heard through the many social media forms.... Writing has become more common and less compassion. In this recitation is my answer to what is literature and what is merely expression. Rakesh Tiwari gives me the answer to when to write - its when its not Creative Dissatisfaction but only and only Compassion...!

This one describes beautifully the state of mind of the one who is very well aware of herself... Who is ruffled yet composed. Sometimes visibly so yet most of the time building up the within. One is ones best listener, best guide. Its just about time, when the lost faith takes time to rebuild the strong within. Faith is right there.

Success or Failures, everything is but a journey & not destination. But how to evaluate this? Rather why to evaluate these? If at all one wants to measure success let these be the parameters. It's always about whether a learning is implemented? Whether there is any improvement from the past performance ? Whether have I grown as a person? If Failures motivate you to work harder, you have learnt, you have grown, you are a WINNER...!

Faith & Optimism is what this poem means to me. The most precious gifts of nature are owned by none ! And one such gift is the light from the Sun...! Always and Forever..! It is within one's self. It only requires a spark and the lamp will aflame. What's more? There is no more darkness. Where there is Faith, there are efforts, THERE'S LIGHT.

This one is my favourite since some years now... ! Bahut Hi Sukoon den hai yeh Kavita.... Aisi bina wajhe ki udaasi mein koi extreme nahin hota... Jab hum witness kar sakte hai khud apne andar ke bhaav ko... Aur sabhi bhaav ke saath bhi Balance ho, aise samay mein ye kavita mere mann mein baar baar padhti hoon.

Truth pinches the liars howsoever politely expressed. I have invited enough struggles, arguments, frustration by being honest and clear in expression. But that is more like an involuntary action for me, can't help it. So I like this poem. The underlying meaning in this poem - in a decision making situation, who do you support? The ones who wait for friendly stars, or ones who take charge of their life by action? Many such questions are answered in this poem.

Holding on to the loss and resisting to move forward comes to us so effortlessly. Yes it takes a lot to move on and let the loss be history. The poet here rightly says in the end "wo kachcha peene wala hai jiski mamta ghat pyalo par". We dont live clinging on to the material... Real love and life is in the moments we have felt alive... The love for intoxication the love for life....!

Dinkar says the story of Karn from Mahabharat in this Mahakavya. But his style in writing unfailingly amplifies the life lessons for a person who is warrior in life... With every challenge how one must build ones own self. How every strength is within us and only when we see it the world will benefit from it. These are just a few I shared... But once you listen to it I am sure you will find your own message from this excrepet.

I have read this poem in the different phases of my life and have related to it every time. As a child myself, as a grown up and as a mother. But today as I recite it... Just 2 days before my daughter's birthday... I am feeling this strange loss... Loss of what I had lost... Even she will lose it. Oh what can I do to retain her childhood?

Failing in exam or in Business.. Challenges in relationships or with ones own self? The journey of life can either be just an evaluation or beyond it... ? Let it be beyond all evaluations... Just take it as it comes... It's not the end of the world. This is the message in this recital.

In my very formative years I have both understood and felt the strength of literature. How poets and writers had added fuel to the Indian Freedom Struggle is not something anyone is unaware of. However every such literature is timeless, so is this poem.

The way we have a go to person in our friends and family to whom we rush to every time we are low, this poem is my go to poem. It has given the strength I have needed every time. I wish to share this source of strength.

This poem turned into song may sound like it's reflecting hopelessness. However, there in underlines the message of realize and live your DREAMS before it's too late.

This is just being easy..Being "mast". Being Happy with one own self. Often it sounds like justification. But that too doesn't come easily. In this he shares the things to value, above all love for self. In the fakira state, the realities of life in this simple yet powerful poem

Every low phase needs a way out. In this poem Neeraj simply says .. Go through everything with a SMILE! I have taken strength from this one always. I wish to share this source of strength with all.
