The challenging field of family law is a vital part of the litigation profession, demanding an understanding of both the law and the psychological trauma that can dramatically affect the well-being of children and others caught in the middle. Guest Ashish Joshi is a Michigan attorney and author who has devoted his career to helping those struggling through the most difficult situations imaginable. Family violence, coercion, and control are, unfortunately, a huge and often under recognized part of our legal reality. The field of family law can include issues including parental alienation, child abduction, the weaponization of children and their relationships with sparring parents, gaslighting and manipulation, and even complicated adjacent areas of law such as hidden assets, stalking, and pet abuse. Family law litigation requires a complex skill set and mental toughness, but it's a vital part of our lives. Joshi shares how practicing in the field involves working with people going through the worst period of their lives, the protection of innocent and powerless victims, and the field of psychology and human behavior. Looking for a challenge and the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life? Family law litigation is a demanding and rewarding field. Also in this episode, quick tips from Erin Clifford, managing director at Clifford Law Offices, about avoiding legal burnout. Have a question, comment, or suggestion for an upcoming episode?

„Ich kauf mir was. Quellen (Auszug): Maraz, A., Griffiths, M. D., & Demetrovics, Z. (2016). John and Eric (fka Snazzy??) are back for another super packed episode of Wrestling Omakase! They start things off with some discussion of VOW's latest edition of the 30 Under 30 project- who they voted for that got lost in the honorable mentions, then as 30-16 dropped right when they started recording they go through that list as well. Plus, lots of discussion on young wrestlers and how different places do (or don't) develop them in general! Then it's on to a major topic from last week, as they talk the major news of NJPW's sale from Bushiroad to TV Asahi & Cyberagent, including a lot of things they think people are getting wrong about this topic so far. Then of course it's on to our show reviews, starting out with a STARDOM Korakuen show from 5/26 packed with major news: of course, Utami Hayashishita's sudden return to the company being the big one, but also a major title change on top. They break it all down as well as the sudden burst of unit movement from this past weekend as well. Then it's on to NJPW BOSJ Nights 8-10 (5/27, 5/29 & 5/30) which were kind of the dog days of the tournament, though there were still a couple highlights (and some real lowlights as well).Afterward they talk a trio of shows that all took place on May 31st, starting with the King of DDT finals from Korakuen Hall. They break down a somewhat surprising winner, whether or not this was a mistake, if DDT's young talent is being pushed fast enough, "vibes" and more. Then it's over to Marvelous to talk their latest Shin Kiba 1st Ring show, featuring some notable foreign talent, Chigusa Nagayo's divisive commentary (Nicole made a run in for this part- she is not a fan!), and what's coming up next for them. Finally, it's back to the land of Ice Ribbon to discuss their show from Yokohama that John was particularly invested in the result of, as their favorite wrestler in the promotion tries to earn a title shot on a show they're going to next month! Also somewhere in here we rank the Omakase co-hosts by who would beat who in a FIGHT, so definitely don't miss that!Joshi-ing Around podcast: https://redcircle.com/shows/1309343e-3781-4750-9209-4efbc9976ab6Social Suplex newsletter: https://www.socialsuplex.com/newsletter/Follow Wrestling Omakase on Twitter: http://twitter.com/wrestleomakaseFollow John on BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/justoneenby.bsky.socialAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

In today's episode, Joshi is joined by Mill staff writer Lucy McLaughlin, who has just spent a few days speaking to Makerfield residents, guided by a handy map we have built predicting which wards are most likely to vote Labour and Reform. She found plenty of people who aren't voting, and several who like Burnham but say they will vote for Reform or won't vote at all.We also discuss Joshi's widely-shared essay about the elusive 'Burnhamism' and what the mayor really believes.Join us as a paying member NOW to get Lucy's report from Makerfield and our brand new projection of how different parts of the seat will vote - plus the next editions of our special Burnham Blueprint series. You will also be backing the team who have been covering the mayor for years up close. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

In this episode of the Epigenetics Podcast, we talked with Filippo Rijli from the Friedrich Miescher Institute about his work on transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of craniofacial and neuronal development. Dr. Rijli recalls pivotal moments in his career, including his postdoctoral work where he explored the functions of HoxA2 in craniofacial development. We discuss key findings from his landmark papers, highlighting how individual transcription factors like HoxA2 can dictate the topographic organization of neuronal circuits. His exploration of the whisker-to-barrel cortex circuit in mice unveils how sensory inputs are mapped and processed through precise neuronal connections. This intricate mapping reveals how singular genes can impact the wiring of entire neurological systems. We also reflect on the evolution of scientific communication throughout Filippo's career, from the reliance on faxes and handwritten requests for paper reprints to today's instant access to research through digital platforms. His early experiences have instilled in him a resourcefulness that continues to inform his approach to research, particularly in environments with limited resources where collaboration becomes essential. Our discussion shifts to his recent research endeavors that delve into transcriptional and epigenetic regulation during neuronal and craniofacial development. Dr. Rijli elaborates on a 2015 study which demonstrated how the ectopic expression of HoxA2 could lead to the creation of artificial whisker maps in the brain, providing insights into how transcription factors guide neuronal behavior and circuit formation. His work on the histone methyltransferase EZH2 reveals its crucial role in the tangential migration of cerebellar neurons and the mechanisms that ensure these neurons reach their accurate destinations during development. Dr. Rijli's research further investigates the chromatin landscape of cranial neural crest cells, uncovering how polycomb group proteins maintain a poised state that enables these cells to respond flexibly to environmental signals. This concept of plasticity is particularly relevant in his latest research on nasal chondrocytes, suggesting that these cells retain developmental potential that may be harnessed in regenerative medicine. The discussions hint at a future where understanding these intricate mechanisms could lead to groundbreaking advancements in treating injuries or diseases. Throughout the episode, Dr. Rijli's enthusiasm for discovery is palpable as he shares how each research finding leads to more questions, showcasing the iterative nature of scientific research. This dialogue provides not only a deep dive into his specific studies but also a broader view of how developmental biology continues to evolve, emphasizing the importance of understanding the molecular underpinnings of cellular identity and connectivity. Are you considering a non-surgical liquid rhinoplasty, or do you want to understand what it takes to completely rebuild the central feature of the human face? In this very special episode of Big Butts No Lies, Mavi sits down with her very first overseas guest from the UK, board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Anil Joshi. Dr. Joshi details the intense clinical complexities behind nasal reconstruction caused by severe trauma, skin cancer, or extensive cocaine abuse. He explains the three-dimensional architecture of the nose and why it represents the highest stakes in facial plastic surgery. We also dive into an urgent safety warning regarding liquid rhinoplasty (nasal fillers)—explaining how a single incorrect injection can accidentally hit an artery, leading to immediate tissue necrosis, severe nose destruction, or even permanent blindness. Episode 224: Community Health Workers Dr. Arreaza: Today we will discuss a topic that, frankly, every single person listening, whether you're a medical student, a resident, a nurse, a family doctor, or any primary care provider, needs to really understand. We're talking about community health workers (CHWs). We are joined by our stellar medical student; you may be familiar with her voice from previous episodes about insomnia. Moira, welcome, please introduce yourself. Moira: I want to be upfront about why Community Health Workers matter to you specifically. If you've ever felt frustrated that your patient with uncontrolled diabetes keeps missing appointments because they can't get a ride, or that your heart failure patient was readmitted because nobody checked whether they could afford their medications, then you already understand the problem that CHWs are designed to solve. Dr. Arreaza: We're going to give you the definition of a CHW, the evidence behind their effectiveness, how they fit into your care team, the return on investment, and practical steps for integrating them into your practice. We have pulled information from a lot of peer-reviewed sources, and we want to share them with you. So, Moira, let's start with the basics. What exactly is a community health worker? Moira: Great question, and it's one that even literature struggles with, because there are so many titles for this role. Community Health Worker is an umbrella term that encompasses more than 20 different titles including outreach workers, promotores or promotoras de salud, community health representatives, lay health workers, peer educators, patient navigators, and many more. The American Public Health Association defines CHWs as frontline public health workers who are trusted members of or have an unusually close understanding of the communities they serve. Arreaza: And that trust is so important in health care. CHWs are not physicians. They are not nurses. They do not diagnose or prescribe. But they are like a bridge connecting the medical environment, social services, and the community to reduce gaps in healthcare delivery. Moira: Exactly. In the United States, the role was formally recognized in the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which includes several sections highlighting the key roles CHWs play in achieving important goals of healthcare. ________________ References: Aguerrebere, M., Rodríguez-Cuevas, F. They talk a bit about that before transitioning to a long recap of John's entire Vegas trip, including reviews of eight different wrestling shows- many of them from Japanese promotions- and a ton of random anecdotes on just what things were like on the ground. Then John & Snazzy do a full preview of STARDOM's biggest show of the year from Yokohama Arena, discuss the chances of Sayaka Kurara actually winning the red belt, compare the show to last year on paper and more. After that it's time to talk about some shows that actually happened in Japan, starting with nights 2 & 3 of the AJPW Champion Carnival. John was apparently lower on some of this than consensus and shares some thoughts. Then they discuss SEAdLINNNG for maybe the first time ever on Omakase, as they break down their big Korakuen Hall show that featured two outstanding matches. Eric does a great job introducing their young roster if you'd like a good place to jump in, and the two of them discuss just how great the joshi scene is right now in general as well.Joshi-ing Around podcast: https://redcircle.com/shows/1309343e-3781-4750-9209-4efbc9976ab6Social Suplex newsletter: https://www.socialsuplex.com/newsletter/Follow Wrestling Omakase on Twitter: http://twitter.com/wrestleomakaseFollow John on BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/justoneenby.bsky.socialAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

When Shekhar Joshi's collection of stories, “Kosi Ka Ghatwar' came out in 1958, even he would not have imagined the fame and acclaim that the title story got him. It has since come to be considered a classic in Hindi literature. A tender story of love, compassion, loneliness and caring, Kosi Ka Ghatwar is set in Uttarakhand and is rich with references to life there. The ghat is a flour mill that runs on water. This is where the story unfolds. The river is drying up, the characters are lonely, there is poverty and grief…and yet there is amidst all this the possibility of tenderness. Do listen to this story and share with me what according to you made this story a classic.

It's another John & John episode! John Bivins is back as the two of them break down an outstanding end to the New Japan Cup, talking the final two quarterfinal matches from night 10, both semifinals from night 11, and then the entire final night including of course the tournament final itself. Lots of talk about NJPW's young generation really stepping up, Shota Umino maybe forcing people to take some Ls (including at least one John!) and more, plus a look ahead to what the rest of the year might look like. Then it's over to DDT to talk an equally outstanding Judgement show from Korakuen Hall, a very deep card that showed off their huge bounty of young talent. We also discuss the very sad news of Kazusada Higuchi's sudden retirement.Afterward we break down AJPW's Hachioji show from 3/20, a weird card featuring a Triple Crown title match and not a whole lot else. Finally, we wrap things up with some of the highlights from all four TJPW shows down in Texas, and then a full preview of next weekend's big Grand Princess show!John Bivins' Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/punkrock.darkroast/Follow Wrestling Omakase on Twitter: http://twitter.com/wrestleomakaseFollow John on BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/justoneenby.bsky.socialOur Sponsors:* Support our sponsor BetterHelp: https://www.betterhelp.comAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
In the last episode of this season of The Publisher Podcast from Media Voices, we're bringing you a panel from our last Publisher Summit, all about strategies for converting newsletter readers into paying subscribers. This panel featured Henry Seltzer, Director of Newsletter Operations at Bloomberg, Joshi Herrmann, Founder at Mill Media, and Rosie Percy, Newsletter Strategy Director at Hearst UK, moderated by Chris Sutcliffe. Henry, Joshi and Rosie explored tips and tools used to convert free newsletter subscribers to a paying product, from testing and optimisation to campaigns and messaging. Early Bird booking for this year's Publisher Summit is now open. We'll be holding the Summit on July 8th at a really cool venue near Paddington in London, with a single main stage focused on direct-to-audience product strategies. If you're specifically interested in newsletters or podcasts though, we're shaping the agenda so you can sit on a relevant main stage session, then step out for dedicated workshops, so there will always be something valuable to get involved with. The Summit will take place before the Publisher Podcast and Newsletter Awards in the evening, both of which are now open for entries. More details about tickets, entering the Awards, and all this at voices.media/events.
UnHerd's Freddie Sayers speaks with The Economist's defence editor, Shashank Joshi, to dissect the frightening new reality of ‘democratised warfare' in the Strait of Hormuz. As Iran utilises low-cost drones, ‘smart mines', and autonomous suicide boats to threaten 20% of the world's oil supply, Joshi explains the shift from traditional naval battles to a war of economic attrition and investigates whether the price of entry for war has been permanently lowered - and what it means for the future of global stability.
