Recorded on 19 December 2024 for ICMDA Webinars. Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Dr Vinod Shah In addressing problems, we often take a forward approach—assessing strengths and weaknesses (e.g., SWOT) before moving to strategic planning. In this session, however, I am adopting a different method: working backward from the desired impact. I have identified 10 interconnected health-related impact categories that could transform India's healthcare landscape. The audience will then explore how they can contribute to one or more of these areas. No specific model is prescribed—whether it's a mission hospital, clinic, or public-private partnership. The focus is simply on making a meaningful, positive impact on at least one or two proposed factors. Since these factors are interconnected, it will have a domino effect on the others. Although tailored for the Indian context, this reverse-engineering approach can be applied globally and fosters innovation. After coming to Christian faith from a Jain background, Dr Vinod Shah's passion is serving God through Medical Mission. He did his M.B.B.S, M.S & M.Ch from Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. One of the biggest challenges?   Many organizations have shifted their investments down the funnel—hiring more sales and BDR resources—while pulling back on marketing. Yet, buyer behavior has evolved in the opposite direction.   Today, buyers are forming their shortlists and making decisions before ever speaking to a sales rep. This means if your brand isn't investing in marketing, you're not even making it into their consideration set. To grow revenue, companies must excel across four critical stages: ✅Awareness: They must have heard of you ✅Affinity: They must like you and believe you can solve their challenges ✅In-Market: They must be ready to buy   ✅Engagement: Then they talk to your sales team, who still needs to beat the competition and win the deal   At RBMA: Revenue Based Marketing Advisors, we help businesses scale growth effectively and efficiently. We build and optimize your end-to-end marketing and sales infrastructure—from brand development to sales training—delivering: - Increased high-quality lead volume - Shortened sales cycles - Improved close rates I'm Kerry Curran, Founder and Chief Growth Officer of RBMA. With 20 years of experience in marketing and business development, I've consistently driven double- and triple-digit revenue growth. Vinod then started a business that was initially built around leveraging the potential of IOT technology, and which eventually pivoted to selling software to speciality insurance companies. And that was the birth of Concirrus which went on to raise more than $40mn over the next couple of years. But that is when things fell apart and the founders realised that they had diluted so much of their equity that they no longer had any control over the future of Concirrus and they were on the verge of declaring bankruptcy.Stay tuned to learn what happened next as your host Akshay Datt speaks to Vinod Singh about his amazing journey as a founder and don't forget to subscribe to the Founder Thesis podcast.

Remember the words that Vinod would tell passengers concerned about turbulence "The people flying the plane have families they need to get home to tonight." If you are concerned about the wings during turbulence, there are numerous wing flex test videos for all airplane manufacturers. Here is an example from Airbus. We want to give a shoutout to the Layovers Podcast. Vinod was a guest interviewee of Paul on Episode 139. Vinod tried out a Canadian ultra low-cost carrier, Flair, for the first time from Vancouver to Calgary. He shares his thoughts about the experience. Find out why Vinod says they held to the ultra of ultra low cost. Vancouver to Calgary is often a turbulent flight as flights cross the Rocky Mountains. Turbulence can be divided into planned and unplanned turbulence. Flying into hot destinations often brings big thermals for pilots to deal with. Sometimes flights take big detours to avoid large unstable weather systems. We discuss our 2024 travel plans. Geoff has an upcoming round-the-world flight. The idea for the flight started when Vinod asked what a United 737 was doing in Tokyo. The trip starts from Toronto to Chicago to Honolulu on United. Then the Island Hopper in the Pacific, eventually ending up in Guam. Then a connection to Japan to one of the world's busiest single runway airports at Fukuoka. Geoff is looking forward to a domestic Japanese flight from Osaka to Tokyo. After enjoying Tokyo, onward to Copenhagen with 19 hours of flying via Singapore. Geoff has a couple of inter-European flights with Norwegian and Lufthansa. Geoff returns to Canada using a Singapore fifth freedom flight to JFK and finally to Toronto with Air Canada. Geoff and Marco flew together in 2022 on internal flights in Mozambique complete with a crazy trip to Nampula (listen to experience 64 for more details). We ask Marco about his alliances and statuses. With all of these flights, Marco has almost achieved lifetime gold status on British Airways. He holds status in three different alliances along with Emirates. It all started for Marco in the mid-1990s when flying staff standby tickets with Lufthansa, which sponsored AIESEC conferences that Marco (and Geoff and Vinod) attended.  We ask Marco about his business travel and his top “weird” destinations. Eritrea tops the list and Tajikistan being another exotic destination. We ask about Marco's pet peeves – he shares his thoughts about issues on the ground, in the air and at the hotel. He also shares an interesting “worst flight on the planet”. We ask about Marco's travel hacks and habits and learn what he never gets on a plane without. What airlines or hotels are at the top of Marco's list? Marco wishes that customer service comes back at the major airlines at some point in the future. We ask about what airlines he feels are at the bottom of the list. It is a really populated place for both major carriers and low-cost carriers. We ask what Marco would like to see in travel for innovation. Marco also shares his emotional attachment to his paper boarding passes. Paul welcomes his good friend Vinod for an episode full of fun aviation and travel stories — a long episode, with the laughs taking quite some of that length. From Edmonton to Vancouver, via Calgary (and its keys!), the many airports he worked at (Paul still hasn't been to Canada), Martinair, British Airways, Air Berlin, or WestJet, amongst the many airlines he worked for (and in a world of crew camaraderie around the world, BA really seems like a big family). Is there something about the uniform that transcends trends? And Vinod's secret to treat cabin crew well (Paul is inspired). The experience of turbulences in the air (and yes, we discuss that fateful Singapore Airlines flight), but also the video game of driving a jet bridge. Can you get Covid from an aircraft wing: flying during the pandemic to (and working at) Tokyo 2020 (NRT, a game of chairs) and Beijing 2022 (PEK, calcifying under sanitizing spray).Does each airline have a specific smell, or is that a neurotic avgeek thing? (dried fish seems like a bad omen though).  Vinod attempts to convince Paul that Frankfurt and Heathrow are great airports, and he nearly succeeds (his definition of LHR is just the best, and Paul softens on FRA), and we (kinda) agree on Singapore's carpet. And many more stories (Vinod's most memorable flights are quite something). Listen to Vinod Viswalingam's podcast (hosted along with the great Geoff Dahl), Seat 1A:Seat1A on Apple PodcastsSeat1A on SpotifySeat1A (website with more links)

We're happy to be back after a few months of hiatus. In this experience we examine pets and other furry fliers, and Vinod shares a couple of trip reports. We have talked about animals as cargo in previous experiences. Airlines should know that there is an animal in the plane. Vinod remembers a dog that escaped out of the plane in Edmonton and went missing for weeks. Geoff remembers a poor dog that made a mess of itself in the kennel. Vinod remembers a massive dog that took up a row of seats with a passenger flying from St. John's to Toronto. Animal kennels on board need to be able to fit under the seat under the seat in front of you. Prior to COVID in the US, there was a large number of unique support animals brought onboard. We saw Dexter the emotional support peacock, Daniel the emotional support duck, Fred the miniature service horse, an emotional support pig, Gizmo the emotional support marmoset and a turkey at security. Eventually in 2020 a new rule was implemented differentiating between trained support animals and emotional support animals. Vinod shares a story that his father would share about a passenger feeding a miniature monkey in his jacket. Vinod shares his experience of rescue dogs flying from Taiwan to Canada. We wonder what happens with irregular operations and delays with pets. Vinod shares his memory of rats and mice in aircraft. There was extra drama with passengers and a crying baby. The second was a family vacation to Costa Rica. Vinod's son had wonderful interaction with a Delta pilot in Atlanta. The return flight via Los Angeles, caused Vinod's loathing and hatred of the airport to go up a notch. bbc.com article 'Emotional support peacock' barred from United Airlines plane  thenationalnews.com article From horses to peacocks, the wildest emotional support animals spotted on flights    If you have a story about pets and animals on flights, or other experiences that you would like to share, please email us at stories(at)seat1a.org or find us on Facebook, X/Twitter, and Instagram. 1. Would you be surprised or even shocked if the Titans, should they keep the pick at 7, do not upgrade Will Levis's protection with a new OT? Another thing to keep in mind is that Tennessee only has two top-100 selections (7, 38). If another team offers the Titans another such selection for them to move back, would you take that deal if you're Ran Carthon? 2. When you look at the Colts, this is a roster that doesn't really have any glaring holes on it, so they are well-positioned to take the absolute best player remaining on their board at 15. However, they don't have a proven receiving threat outside of Michael Pittman, Jr. and they also lack a legit shutdown boundary corner. Do you anticipate the Colts addressing one of those two needs in the first round, or can you easily see them looking elsewhere? 3. If you're Trent Baalke, do you try everything possible to trade up into the top-10 for one of those big-three receivers (should one fall to 8 or 9), or do you stand pat at 17 and take a Brian Thomas, Jr. or an Adonai Mitchell? Jacksonville also has another urgent need at the cornerback position. Do you think it would be more prudent for the Jaguars to address that particular position at 17 and WR with their second-round pick? 4. Stefon Diggs will turn 31 this November and both he and Nico Collins are slated to be free agents next year. Because of those circumstances, can you still see the Texans taking a WR with one of their three Day 2 picks? 5. As you predicted on our Texans offseason preview episode, they made one big splash signing in free agency (Danielle Hunter) and made some excellent short-term value signings at other positions of need such as CB (Jeff Okudah and C.J. Henderson), DT (Denico Autry) and LB (Azeez al-Shaiir). Thus, Nick Caserio is in a sweet spot to truly take the best player available. I believe another reason the Texans were willing to drop down 19 spots from 23 to 42 is because they believe the options at DT, LB, or CB are going to be plentiful at that juncture of the draft. Which of those three aforementioned positions should be Houston's highest priority with their two second-round picks? 6. Titans Three-Round Mock (No Trades) 7. Colts Three-Round Mock (No Trades) 8. Jaguars Three-Round Mock (No Trades) 9. Texans Three-Round Mock (No Trades)

1. The first big move of the Texans off-season occurred the week before the Super Bowl as they were able to retain both offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik (who was a hot head coaching candidate) and QB's coach Jerrod Johnson (who was a hot OC candidate) on revised contracts. Does this move suggest to you that Jerrod Johnson will replace Bobby Slowik at offensive coordinator should Slowik get a head coaching job in 2025? 2. Which positions do the Texans need to address the most in both free agency and the draft in order to take another massive step forward next season? 3. A key player entering the final year of his rookie deal is WR Nico Collins. Do you think locking him up to a long-term extension before Week 1 is a very high priority for the Texans? 4. In his first three seasons as GM, Nick Caserio has approached free agency by avoiding "Tiffany's" signings as much as possible and primarily shopping at The Dollar Tree if you know what I mean. However, with a star QB on a rookie deal in C.J. Stroud and north of $50 million in effective cap space, it may be wise for the Texans to reel in a big fish off the free agent market. One such player expected to hit the open market is Chiefs All Pro DT Chris Jones. If Jones and his agent are taking other teams calls on March 11, how aggressively do you think the Texans will be eyeballing him? 5. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported early this week that there's buzz across the entire NFL that the Texans may try to upgrade the running back position to help take the offense to an even higher level. The crop of running backs in the 2024 NFL Draft is considered underwhelming, thus the Texans may look to free agency to make such an investment in their running game. Which one of prospective free agent RB's Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs and Derrick Henry would make the most sense for the Texans and why? 6. Before the free agent market even opens, it is a safe bet that Nick Caserio and the Texans front office will keep close tabs on their in-house free agents, especially DE Jonathan Greenard, TE Dalton Schultz, CB Steven Nelson, DT Sheldon Rankins and LB Blake Cashman. Which one of those five do you believe the Texans are most likely to re-sign, and which one do you believe is most likely headed elsewhere? 7. What would a realistic, yet ideal free agent haul for the Texans look like in your view? 8. Seven-Round Texans Mock Draft
