Young Christians (18-29 years old) are attending church less frequently than ever. A recent study shows that one of the reasons for this trend is because these young adults view the church's stance on sex to be simplistic or judgmental. How can church leaders address this issue in a way that is accepting and compassionate, without compromising their commitment to biblical teaching on sex? Let's talk about it with the Mad Pastors!
One of the stated reasons young adults are leaving the church is because of the exclusivity of the Christian faith. Claiming that Jesus is the only way to salvation doesn't seem to sit well with 18-29 year old's who have grown up in a culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion. How should pastors respond and what can we do when it comes to shepherding our people well in such a pluralistic society? Join the Mad Pastors to for a great discussion on what we can do.
One of the reasons many young adults in America are leaving the church is because they see a growing divide between faith and science. Is it fair to say Christianity is at odds with science, or is there a better way to understand these two categories? The Mad Pastors argue that faith and science are not polar opposites, but instead complement one other. Each should be in favor of the other and we as pastors need to do a better job helping our people learn how to integrate both science and faith into our daily lives. Listen now to hear their insights that may just keep 18-29 year old from leaving the church for this reason.
A Barna study suggests one of the main reasons young people (age 18-29) are leaving the church is because the church is over-protective. That means either they see the church as anti-everything secular, ignoring real-world problems, or opposed to the music, movies, and video games these young people enjoy. If this is how America's budding generation feels about the church, how can the church respond and what must we as mad pastors do to reach this crucial generation once again? ★ Support this podcast ★
Church attendance is in decline in America and a number of possible explanations have been suggested. One reason why people, especially young people, are leaving the church is that churches have shifted to a watered-down gospel. Shallow Christianity was thought to attract a wider audience, but research shows it has had the opposite effect. Join the mad pastors as they talk about this trend and what we should do about it.
How should a leader respond when he realizes the church he leads is imploding? The Mad Pastors offer three insights that will help any leader turn things around.
