Interview with Stephen Hanson, President & CEO of Surface Metals Inc.Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/surface-metals-csesur-former-lithium-player-pivots-to-nevada-gold-with-walker-lane-project-7467Recording date: 21st November 2025Surface Metals Inc. (CSE: SUR) has strategically positioned itself across two commodity cycles through its April 2025 acquisition of the Cimarron gold project in Nevada whilst maintaining a diversified lithium portfolio anchored by a 300,000+ ton LCE resource at Clayton Valley, California. This dual-commodity approach provides investors with exposure to gold's current bull market and lithium's structural electrification demand.Following recent meetings on Wall Street and Bay Street, President and CEO Steve Hanson reports renewed institutional appetite for junior and mid-cap mining opportunities. Major banks including JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, UBS, Deutsche Bank, and HSBC forecast gold reaching $5,000 per ounce in 2026, driven by central bank accumulation, interest rate dynamics, and geopolitical tensions. Simultaneously, lithium markets show stabilisation following the 2023-2024 correction, with institutional interest returning to quality projects. The Cimarron gold project, located in Nevada's prolific Walker Lane trend approximately 35 kilometres south of Kinross's Round Mountain mine, benefits from extensive historical work conducted by Newmont and Echo Bay during the 1980s-1990s. Surface Metals has digitised this historical database and created three-dimensional geological models, positioning the company to commence phase one drilling in early 2026 with clear targeting rationale. The programme aims to confirm historical high-grade intercepts, validate a non-43-101 compliant resource, and expand towards a million-ounce target. Shallow oxide mineralisation suggests potential heap leach processing economics - a lower-cost development pathway relevant for junior companies.Surface Metals' lithium portfolio demonstrates geographic and geological diversification across three projects. The Clayton Valley brine project sits immediately northwest of Albemarle's Silver Peak operation - North America's only producing lithium brine facility operational since 1966. The company targets a preliminary economic assessment in 2026, evaluating direct lithium extraction technology offering faster processing and higher recovery versus traditional evaporation ponds. Neighbouring operator SLB's 2025 demonstration facility successfully produced lithium from similar brine chemistry, de-risking technology application.Fish Lake Valley represents exposure to sedimentary claystone lithium mineralisation, sitting contiguous to Ioneer's Rhyolite Ridge project backed by Ford, Toyota, and Panasonic offtakes with 2026 construction commencement planned. Surface Metals actively seeks joint venture partners to fund initial drilling. In Manitoba, NASDAQ-listed Snow Lake Resources earns into the company's pegmatite project through funded exploration whilst Surface Metals maintains carried interest without capital outlay.Capital efficiency distinguishes Surface Metals' approach. The company has reduced operational costs whilst advancing projects through partnership structures and targeted technical work avoiding dilutive capital raises during unfavourable market conditions. Sector consolidation reduced lithium-focused companies from 200-250 to approximately 60, with Surface Metals amongst survivors maintaining intact portfolio positioning to capture recovery momentum.Management contemplates multiple value realisation pathways including asset sales, joint ventures, or corporate restructuring to separate gold and lithium portfolios. In market conditions where commodities experience distinct cycles, portfolio separation could unlock valuation disparities whilst providing shareholders direct exposure to preferred commodity themes. All projects benefit from tier-one North American jurisdictions with established infrastructure, proximity to operating mines, and relatively streamlined permitting. Nevada exploration permits typically achieved in 90-120 days. As gold supply deficits emerge from major producers exhausting high-grade reserves, and lithium supply security achieves strategic priority, Surface Metals' portfolio positioning addresses structural market dynamics favouring quality junior mining opportunities in premier jurisdictions.View Surface Metals' company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/acme-lithiumSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

"Science-based lifting" is everywhere, but what does it actually mean? Shallow and Jiunta break down why most people using the term aren't following the scientific method, aren't applying principles, and aren't training in a way that would hold up outside of social media. They dig into the difference between evidence-based and science-themed content, and why online contrarians misuse "research" to sound smarter than they are. This week Frank celebrates his birthday in the studio with Jon, keeps the vibes relaxed, and still manages to pack in a full slate of geek news and debates. The two kick things off with updates on Shogun Season 2, breaking down the ten year time jump, the politics of feudal Japan, and how Western audiences connect with Asian history and tropes on screen. From there they pivot to Valve's newly announced Steam Machine concept and what it means for the future of consoles, PC gaming, and cloud streaming. Then it is trailer time. Frank and John react to the new Fallout Season 2 trailer and its New Vegas setting, the Super Mario Galaxy movie trailer from Illumination, and the first official images from the live action Legend of Zelda movie. They also dig into Disney's Moana live action remake and use it as a springboard to talk about when fans want faithful recreations and when they actually want a fresh take. In the second half, Frank launches a new recurring bit called Shallow Dives, a timed debate game where one host takes a position and the other plays devil's advocate. Topics this round include whether physical media is really coming back, if critic and audience scores should be hidden for a movie's first week, and how central cosplay is to modern fandom. The episode wraps with recommendations for Welcome to Derry and a timely revisit of V for Vendetta. Timestamps and Topics 00:00 – Birthday intro, in person recording, and why this episode is more relaxed 01:00 – Shogun Season 2 news, ten year time jump, and how the show handles Japanese history and European trade politics 05:30 – Valve's new Steam Machine concept, console vs PC, and why price point might decide its fate 11:20 – Fallout Season 2 trailer reaction, New Vegas connections, Elvis ghoul Kings, and Macaulay Culkin's role 15:40 – Super Mario Galaxy movie trailer, Bowser in a jar, Bowser Jr, Rosalina, and Illumination's animation style and music 18:20 – First look at the live action Legend of Zelda movie and a deeper talk about faithful adaptations vs reinterpretations 24:00 – Moana live action trailer, shot for shot remakes, green screen fatigue, and who these remakes are really for 28:15 – Introducing Shallow Dives, the 5 minute debate game and how it might work at conventions 29:30 – Shallow Dive 1: Is physical media actually making a comeback or is streaming still king 35:00 – Shallow Dive 2: Should critic and audience scores be hidden for the first week of release 41:00 – Shallow Dive 3: Is cosplay a core part of fandom or its own parallel hobby 46:20 – Weekly recommendations: Welcome to Derry and why V for Vendetta still matters 48:10 – Wrap up and sign off Key Takeaways Shogun Season 2 will jump ten years into the Edo era, exploring what it means for Toranaga to not just conquer Japan but govern it while foreign powers like Portugal and Britain push for control. For Western viewers, Shogun can be a gateway into Asian history and storytelling, with Frank and John comparing it to Game of Thrones style politics filtered through a real world lens. Valve's new Steam Machine raises real questions about timing and audience, but John argues that if the device hits the right price and lives in the living room it could appeal to younger PC focused players and convention setups. The Fallout Season 2 trailer leans hard into New Vegas iconography, from Elvis themed ghoul factions to Roman inspired forces, while doubling down on the tension between Lucy's idealism and the brutal wasteland reality. The Super Mario Galaxy movie and the Zelda live action first look both seem to be chasing a very faithful visual style, keeping game aesthetics intact while polishing them for film, especially through music and world design. Moana's live action remake sparks a bigger conversation about when fans want a nearly shot for shot remake and when they want a reinterpretation, with both hosts skeptical about the flat, overly digital look of some recent remakes. In the Shallow Dives segment, the physical media debate lands on a nuanced middle ground: streaming is convenient, but physical and local digital collections still matter for ownership, longevity, and curation. The discussion about scores leads Frank to explain why Geek Freaks removed numeric ratings from posts, preferring to describe how a story feels instead of flattening it to a single number. On cosplay, both hosts agree that it might be its own fandom as much as a subset of any one property, but it absolutely boosts the sense of community and safety at cons by signaling "you are with your people." Memorable Quotes "I would rather put out a relaxed episode than no episode." "Each vault in Fallout is just a wild experiment, and that weirdness is the charm of the show." "Physical media might not be for everyone anymore, but owning a copy means nobody can pull it off your shelf overnight." "Reviews should tell you how a story makes you feel, not just slap a number on it." "Cosplay is like an instant signal that you are in a safe place to be as nerdy as you want." Modern Christianity is popular…but often hollow.Jesus offered living water, yet today many believers feel thin, fragile, emotional, and spiritually inconsistent. Why?In this powerful episode of Behind the Mike Podcast with Mike Stone, we walk boldly into one of the most important conversations happening in the Church today—how our faith culture traded depth for convenience, discipleship for consumption, and transformation for emotional experience. This message is firm, loving, and grounded in Scripture. If you've ever looked around and wondered, “How did we get here?”—this episode is for you.
Your Energy Begins the Conversation From the moment your horse becomes aware of you, before any halter, tack, or aids, the conversation has already started. In this episode, we explore how your energy sets the tone for the entire interaction. Whether it's calm, chaotic, focused, or distracted, your energy speaks louder than your words or actions. Suggested Reflection: Pause before you approach your horse. Ask yourself: What energy am I bringing into this space? Intentional Stillness as a Training Tool Doing "nothing" might be the most impactful thing you do this week. We often think connection comes through doing, but true partnership is often built through simply being with your horse. Still. Calm. Present. Try This: Spend 5–10 minutes just being with your horse this week. Sit, stand, or walk quietly, no agenda. Just notice the shift. The Power of Breath Awareness Lorna reminds us that breath is one of the most underutilized tools in riding and groundwork. Shallow, erratic breath reflects stress. Deep, calm breathing brings safety and groundedness. Your horse will feel the difference. Mini Exercise: Before interacting, take 3 slow, conscious breaths. Let each exhale settle you more deeply into the moment. Partnership Starts on the Ground, Not in the Saddle Many riders focus on improving their connection during rides, but often skip over the groundwork of connection that starts long before the ride. The first look, the first breath, the first touch. All shape your training outcomes. Shift in Perspective: See every interaction, grooming, leading, even watching from the fence, as an opportunity to strengthen your partnership.
We’ve made following Jesus sound too cheap. Our culture says, “Just believe.” But Jesus said, “Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.” In this bold opening to the Uncommon Discipleship arc, Jon Ellis unpacks Luke 14:25–33 and exposes why shallow faith isn’t saving anyone. True discipleship isn’t built on emotion, it’s built on endurance. Drawing from the testimony of Black Sheep Ministries, Jon shows how real transformation only comes when we surrender everything. This episode will challenge you to count the cost, confront compromise, and rediscover what it really means to follow Jesus in a culture that’s falling apart. Because following Jesus will cost you something, but not following Him will cost you everything. Order Jon’s book I’ve Prayed the Prayer and discover what real repentance and discipleship look like at TheUncommonChristian.com. If your faith doesn’t cost you anything, it’s worth nothing. Count the cost, follow Jesus for real.
Campbell Takes the Wheel, Offense Floors It The Detroit Lions put their stamp on Week 10. They routed the Commanders by 22. They hung 44 and rolled up more than 550 yards. The record moved to 6-3. First place in the NFC North followed after the Eagles beat the Packers. The headline was simple. Dan Campbell took over the offense, and the Detroit Lions looked like themselves again. This was the most dynamic snap-to-whistle showing of the season. The calls came out fast. The ball came out faster. The NFL is a rhythm league, and Detroit lived in rhythm. Jared Goff hit receivers in stride and let speed do the rest. Crossing routes stacked yards after catch. Tendencies softened. The heavy 12 personnel looks did not announce run and stall drives. The Detroit Lions added layers, kept Washington off balance, and strung answers together all afternoon. Rhythm Over Hero Ball The Detroit Lions Podcast broke down one sequence that captured the shift. Pony personnel out of the gun. Two backs on the field. Jahmyr Gibbs flared to the flat as the hot answer. David Montgomery inserted and stoned a free rusher. Goff hit the outlet and the sticks moved. Simple. Clean. Smart. That is what this offense can be when the first answer is built in. Concepts stacked nicely. Shallow crossers for Jameson Williams to run. A dig when leverage opened. Amon-Ra St. Brown on the slant. St. Brown on the touchdown off levels. The throws were on time. The spacing was sharp. The result was chunk gains without forcing low-percentage hero shots. Protection looked steadier because the plan cut the defense's teeth. Get it out. Make them tackle. Most of all, the approach felt unpredictable. Motions and formations did not telegraph intent. The Detroit Lions leaned into what their roster does best. Gibbs in space. Montgomery in pass protection and as a hammer. Goff as a point guard. The unit played connected football, and Washington never found the answers. Locker Room Temperature and What Comes Next There was also an undercurrent here. The previous play-caller's public criticism of the offensive line lingered. That kind of commentary belongs in the building. Not in front of microphones. The change arrived like a soft firing or a mutual reset. Either way, Campbell's voice carried, and the offense responded. Trust matters. Fourth-and-two calls tell a team everything. Campbell's aggression and clarity fueled confidence. Players know when the head coach believes in them. They played like it. Detroit sits at 6-3 after the statement win. The next test is heavy. The Eagles await on Sunday night in Week 11. That stage will demand the same tempo, the same answers-first sequencing, and the same discipline that beat Washington. Keep the ball moving. Keep Goff in rhythm. Keep Gibbs and Montgomery involved. If the Detroit Lions keep this identity, they will look like one of the most balanced units in the NFL when the lights come on again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRb8rTxJSiI #DanCampbelltookovertheoffense #JaredGoff #JahmyrGibbs #DavidMontgomery #JamesonWilliams #Amon-RaStBrown #Ponypersonnel #12personnellooks #yardsaftercatch #fourthandtwocalls Learn more about your ad choices. Having spent his early years in London, Mark Ronson grew up in Manhattan, began working as a DJ as a teenager and quickly made a name for himself on the New York club scene of the 1990s. He moved into music production and, in 2006, co-wrote and co-produced the Amy Winehouse album Back To Black. The record won five Grammys and Mark Ronson himself scooped the Producer of the Year Award. Since then, he has released five solo albums and worked with some of the most successful names in pop including Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Queens Of The Stone Age and Paul McCartney. The winner of ten Grammys and two Brits, he added an Academy Award to his list of accolades in 2018 as co-writer of the song Shallow from the film A Star Is Born. He was also Oscar nominated for his work as executive producer, composer and songwriter for the soundtrack to the Barbie movie. More recently he has written a book called Night People, a memoir about his time as a DJ in 90s New York. Mark Ronson tells John Wilson about the influence of his music-loving parents, who often threw parties at their north London home when he was a child. He talks about the influence of his stepfather Mick Jones, songwriter, guitarist and producer of the 80s rock band Foreigner, who allowed Mark to experiment with equipment in his home studio in New York and encouraged his early interest in production. He remembers how hearing the 1992 track They Reminisce Over You by Pete Rock and CL Smooth led him to pursue a career as a club DJ and become renowned for the diverse range of music he played in clubs - from soul and hip-hop to classic rock - an eclectic approach which later informed his work as a producer. Mark Ronson also recalls first meeting Amy Winehouse and how they wrote and recorded the songs for her Back To Black album. Producer: Edwina Pitman

New York Times columnist and bestselling author **David Brooks** joins Srini Rao to unpack what it really means to know and see another person — and how our ability to connect deeply has deteriorated in a world dominated by distraction, paradigmatic thinking, and judgment. Drawing from his latest book *How to Know a Person*, Brooks explores emotional architecture, the danger of moral detachment, the layers of trauma and transformation, and the developmental life tasks that shape our identities.Through deeply personal stories — including his own journey through divorce, emotional avoidance, and the workaholic tendencies that nearly derailed his relationships — Brooks offers a rare and unfiltered view of what it means to grow wiser. He shares the practices of “illuminators” who make others feel seen, the humble posture of accompaniment, and how curiosity, patience, and vulnerability are the cornerstones of human flourishing. This is a conversation about becoming unmistakable by showing up as fully human. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The best part of this entire season has finally been located: a masterful Sabrina Carpenter needle drop at the end of episode 10. If there was ever a theme song for this season, it would be “Manchild.” (Which isn't to say that the women in Denver are incapable of acting badly…) In the run-up to the finale of “Love Is Blind” season 9, we get two of the most brutal and unsettling episodes in the franchise's history. Two couples break up, and at least two other couples *should* break up. Will anyone end up saying yes at the altar? The happiest ending might be a “no.” To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Many believers rely on familiar phrases to express faith, but not all clichés align with biblical truth. This episode examines common sayings like "God works in mysterious ways," "Let go and let God," and "God will not give you more than you can handle." Pastor Caldwell urges listeners to move beyond shallow theology by testing every phrase against Scripture and embracing the richness of God's Word as the foundation of faith.

We're so glad you are here! Thanks for checking out Sunday's message!-- SUNDAY'S NOTES --Once again Jesus began teaching by the lakeshore. A very large crowd soon gathered around him, so he got into a boat. Then he sat in the boat while all the people remained on the shore. He taught them by telling many stories in the form of parables, such as this one: Mark 4:1-2 NLTNot everyone who comes to hear the truth is there to actually listen.Listen! A farmer (sower) went out to sow some seed. Mark 4:3 NLTWithout the Godly seed being sown we have no hope of having deep healthy roots that bear Godly fruit! As he scattered it across his field, some of the seed fell on a footpath, and the birds came and ate it. Other seed fell on shallow soil with underlying rock. The seed sprouted quickly because the soil was shallow. But the plant soon wilted under the hot sun, and since it didn't have deep roots, it died. Other seed fell among thorns that grew up and choked out the tender plants so they produced no grain. Still other seeds fell on fertile soil, and they sprouted, grew, and produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as had been planted! Mark 4:4-8 NLT And he said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Mark 4:9 ESV Honestly and Intentionally listening will give the seed of God's word an opportunity to take root in our lives. When they were off by themselves, those who were close to him, along with the Twelve, asked about the stories. He told them, “You've been given insight into God's kingdom, you know how it works. But to those who can't see it yet, everything comes in stories, creating readiness, nudging them toward a welcome awakening. These are people, Whose eyes are open but don't see a thing, Whose ears are open but don't understand a word, Who avoid making an about-face and getting forgiven.” Mark 4:10-12 MSG Anyone who will lay down their deeply rooted previous perspectives, and truly wants to hear, will hear. And he said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? The sower sows the word. Mark 4:13 ESVHumility is a huge indicator of the condition of the soil of our hearts. The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message, only to have Satan come at once and take it away. Mark 4:14 NLTThe hard pre-decided heart will not receive the truth of God.The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don't have deep roots, they don't last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God's word. Mark 4:15-16 NLTShallow roots are the result of enthusiasm without a willingness to do the real work of going deep with God. The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God's word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced. Mark 4:17-18 NLTThe rocks deter the root, while the weeds the destroy the fruit. Weeds hide and grow, even thrive in the un-surrendered places in our hearts.Repentance isn't just saying you're sorry; it's re-aligning your heart with God's way, truth and life! And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God's word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” Mark 4:20 NLTToday, if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart.
