Faith isn't belief or hope—it's assurance. In this message, Dr. Gabe unpacks the true meaning of faith, challenging common misconceptions and encouraging listeners to move beyond hope into the assurance of God's reality. He explores how faith is not just belief or hope, but the unwavering confidence in God—regardless of circumstance or outcome. To live by faith is to possess an unwavering assurance in God's love, sovereignty, and presence, regardless of circumstances. It is to embrace sacrifice and trust, even when there's no earthly guarantee. As Pastor Gabriel concludes, the invitation is clear: “At some point in your walk with the Lord… you gotta choose the cross.”Support the showText encounteratl to 94000 to stay up-to-date on all things Encounter.Worship with EncounterSundays at 9 AM ET | Wednesdays at 7:30 PM ETSupport EncounterText egive to 77977 Connect with EncounterFacebook | Instagram | TikTok | YouTube | WebsiteConnect with Dr. GabeInstagram | YouTube | Website

In this enlightening episode of Father and Joe, hosts Father Boniface and Joe Rockey tackle a common challenge faced in both missionary work and personal faith journeys: effectively communicating the vast benefits of attending Mass. Using the analogy of sales and products with multiple benefits, Joe introduces the idea that one needs to understand the needs of the person they're engaging with to convey the most relevant benefits. Just as eggs can be appreciated for various uses in meals, the benefits of Mass extend far beyond individual understanding, offering a unique and personalized spiritual experience to every attendee.Father Boniface steps in to explain the power of forming meaningful relationships, not just in sales but within the spectrum of evangelization and attending Mass. Our episode explores the concept of 'accompaniment,' where personal interaction and understanding play critical roles in spiritual guidance and evangelization. This approach helps parishioners form a deeper connection with the Mass, experiencing its full benefits uniquely tailored to their life stage and personal circumstances. We delve into the importance of fostering interior participation in Mass, where silence plays a crucial role. Father Boniface introduces practical ways to connect deeply with the Mass's proceedings, which is essential for transforming a routine obligation into an enriching personal journey filled with discovery and purpose.Additionally, we discuss overcoming the initial sensations of social awkwardness that some might feel when attending Mass, focusing on how to transition from merely going through the motions to actively engaging in a way that reveals Mass's transformative power. Discover how Mass is not just a weekly obligation but a profound means of receiving guidance, healing, and purpose throughout life's fluctuations.Join us as we explore creating moments in Mass that lead to spiritual growth by aligning personal experiences with the spiritual community and the central purpose of the Eucharist. Jesus sends 70 disciples ahead of him saying, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” We ask Dr. Chris Croghan, “Why are the laborers few?” He shows us what's necessary to have a harvest in the first place: seeds that were planted earlier, and teaches us how the Holy Spirit is both doing the planting of Jesus' word and the harvesting of faith. He reveals it's not our work to cause our church's flourishing. We conclude with the incredible statement that we shouldn't rejoice by being given an authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and the power of the enemy, but we should rejoice because our names are written in heaven. CARE OF SOULS - ADDICTION In Care of Souls, a special mini-series podcast from Luther House of Study, Lutheran pastors and theologians come together to explore the deeply personal and pastoral task of preaching to and caring for those struggling with life's challenging situations: addiction, death, family disharmony, and more. Rooted in the theology of the cross and the Lutheran tradition of radical grace, this series offers both theological depth and practical guidance for pastors, church workers, and lay leaders. With conversations, real-life stories, and reflections from the front lines of ministry, Care of Souls equips listeners to enter the broken places of addiction not with easy answers, but with the crucified and risen Christ. Because in the end, it's not about fixing people—it's about preaching the Gospel. Listen to Care of Souls wherever you listen to podcasts or on the Luther House website: Care of Souls - Addiction GOSPEL Luke 10:1-11,16-201 After this the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go. 2 He said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace to this house!' 6 And if anyone is there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you. 7 Remain in the same house, eating and drinking whatever they provide, for the laborer deserves to be paid. Do not move about from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you; 9 cure the sick who are there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.' 10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say, 11 'Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near.' 16 "Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me, and whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me."17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, in your name even the demons submit to us!" 18 He said to them, "I watched Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning. 19 See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."Support the showInterested in sponsoring an episode of Scripture First?Email Sarah at sarah@lhos.org or visit our donation page: lutherhouseofstudy.org/donate

In this episode of Man to Man 360, host Darryl Anderson explores the disconnect between men and both the Democratic Party and the church. Darryl criticizes the Democratic Party's $20 million strategy to win back men, arguing that it focuses on superficial solutions instead of truly understanding and addressing men's needs and perspectives. He draws parallels to the challenges the church faces in engaging men, citing reasons like lack of clear vision, overly emotional services, and feminization of Christianity. Darryl emphasizes the importance of genuinely listening to men and valuing their contributions, whether in politics or church, to effectively engage and win their support. He also touches on controversial issues like toxic masculinity, LGBT acceptance, and the role of men in society, urging a more balanced and respectful approach. This episode seeks to provide practical advice for church leaders and politicians on how to reconnect with and support men authentically.00:00 Understanding the American Voice01:52 Introduction to the Episode03:06 The Intersection of Politics and Men's Issues04:00 Democrats' Strategy to Win Back Men05:30 Mirroring Politics and Church Dynamics14:44 Toxic Masculinity and Its Misconceptions17:38 Men's Voting Behavior and Political Independence20:12 Challenges in Church Attendance for Men20:30 15 Reasons Men Don't Attend Church33:27 The Importance of Success and Excellence34:25 Valuing Men in Church and Society35:43 The Role of Discipleship and Teaching36:33 Biblical Heroes as Role Models39:40 Challenging the Concept of Supremacy42:47 Addressing Misandry in the Black Community46:55 The Impact of LGBT and Trans Issues55:07 Strategies to Win Men BackLINKS:DEMOCRATS LOSE MENDEMOCRATS SPEN $20 Million To WIN MENFifteen Reasons Men Don't Attend ChurchVISIT OUR WEBSITE for Man2Man 360Show is Recorded, Edited and Produced by Darryl D Anderson of Ambassador Media GroupPLEASE SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube page as we need your help getting the word out! Why do we get so caught up in numbers—especially in ministry? In 1 Chronicles 21, King David orders a census that seems innocent enough, but God sees it differently. The fallout is massive, yet from the wreckage comes the foundation for something holy: the future site of the Temple. In this episode, we unpack what David's story teaches us about trust, pride, and the hidden dangers of measuring success the wrong way. #trinityruston #livedeeper #reachwider Seedboard: https://youtu.be/HhhVUdv6lDs Follow us online – https://www.trinityruston.org Do you have questions for us? Social capital refers to the unseen connections that unite individuals within a local community. It inspires people to support the local school system even if they don't have children or to volunteer for a city park cleanup even if they rarely visit it. It's the cohesive force that strengthens society and sustains a thriving democracy. Ryan Burge joins the show to discuss the connection between social capital and church attendance and how being active in church makes you a better person for your community and nation. They emphasize the need for community, structure, and accountability within the church body. The conversation highlights the dangers of self-directed spirituality and the trend of prioritizing personal comfort over collective worship. They also address how churches can inspire participation through meaning and joy rather than guilt and urge listeners to find value in being part of a church community.
