In light of goodbyes, we should go all in for Jesus, live with conviction, step up to the plate, weep and rejoice, recognizing that in Christ, goodbye is merely goodbye for now. A young man named Eutychus once fell asleep as the apostle Paul prolonged his speech late into the night. But, he experienced the power of God in his life when Paul raised him up from the dead. In this sermon from Acts 20:1–16, Pastor Doug Horner encourages us to be awake on God's team, awake in God's power, awake to God's journey, and awake in God's light.

As the Gospel went out in Ephesus it was disrupting the idols of the culture. This came to an explosive head when a silversmith named Demetrius incited a riot in the city. Through the Gospel, God is disrupting the idols of the human heart. We see this in Acts 19:21–41 as we observe three things: the characteristics of idols, the confrontation of idols, and the crumbling of idols. The city of Ephesus was a place where the occult had significant influence and where 7 sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were attempting to harness the power of Jesus' name to perform exorcisms. In a world where occultic practices have become a norm for many (astrology, tarot cards, crystals, wicca, etc.), we must remember that there is a spiritual realm in which evil forces are active and at work, but that Jesus is more powerful.

The mission of the church is to WIN, BUILD, and SEND people for Jesus Christ. In a word: discipleship. In this section of Acts we see Apollos, Aquila and Priscilla, and Paul living this out. They show us that we must have the humility to be discipled, that everyday people can be disciple-makers in everyday ways, and that we must always be seeking to win people for Christ. In Acts 18, Paul goes to Corinth and despite opposition, he refuses to quit doing the work God has called him to. In this message, Pastor Doug Horner preaches from Acts 18:1–23, showing us that it's always too soon to quit because God surrounds us with devoted helpers, because opposition means opportunity, because God gives us His words of assurance, and because God will reveal His will.

In Acts 17:16–34, Paul preaches at the Areopagus in the religious and philosophical city of Athens and as he does, he meets people where they are, learns their story, tells God's story, and entrusts the results to God. Pastor Trey McClain preaches from Acts 17:16–34.

In Acts 17:1–15, Paul and Silas are described as men who are turning the world upside down. But how? It was the power of the Scripture which Paul proclaimed that had the power to do such a thing. Paul and Silas proclaimed the Gospel even when they were imprisoned in Philippi. The result was a miraculous earthquake and the dramatic conversion of the Philippian jailer. Pastor Doug Horner preaches from Acts 16:16–40.

In John 15:5, Jesus utters those famous words: "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." Our middle and high schoolers dove deep into this chapter during their annual Beach Week retreat in Myrtle Beach, SC. Today, the speakers from the week share from John 15 about what it looks like to abide in Christ.

Pastor Billy Thompson takes us through Acts 16:1–15, as Paul sets out on his second missionary journey, meets Timothy, and sees Lydia converted in Philippi.

In a fallen and imperfect world, sometimes godly people go separate ways. This was the case for Paul and Barnabas in Acts 15:36–41 after a dispute over John Mark caused them to part company. However, God was not finished with them. Pastor Doug Horner preaches a message titled, "When Godly People Go Separate Ways."

In Acts 15, a pressing question precipitated the first church council: can Gentiles come God through faith in Jesus alone, or must they keep the Jewish law? Pastor Doug Horner preaches from Acts 15:1–35.

If you know Christ, God has called you to help others follow Jesus. In other words, he has called you to be a disciple maker. In Acts 14:19–28 we see six things that are essential to effectively making disciples: endurance, establishing, exhortation, elders, entrusting, and extolling. As Paul and Barnabas took the Gospel to new frontiers and sought to make Christ known, Acts 14 shows us three things that they did: speak boldly, help the hurting, and confront the idols. Pastor David Horner preaches from Acts 14:1–18.

Pastor Doug Horner preaches from Acts 13:42–52 where we see the aftermath of Paul's first recorded sermon. Some believe and God gets the credit. Some reject and are responsible for their own rejection.

There have been many great comebacks in history, but none like the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Pastor Doug Horner invites us to come see and believe, to hear and remember, and to be filled and go as he preaches from John 20:1–23.

In preparation for Palm Sunday, Jesus told a parable about a king who was rejected, went away to receive a kingdom, and came back to dole out rewards and retribution. It was a parable with one big question: how will we live between his two comings?

Paul and Barnabas' first missionary journey was instrumental in turning the world upside down. Pastor Doug Horner preaches from Acts 13:1-12 in a message titled, "Transformed, Empowered, and Sent."

In Acts 12, Peter makes a miraculous break from prison. Through it all, we are reminded that in everything, God is in control, so we should pray earnestly and give Him all glory. Pastor David Horner preaches from Acts 12.

Peter was criticized for his association with Gentiles, but the Church at Jerusalem eventually came to accept God's salvation of the Gentiles. As such, Barnabas was sent out to a predominately Gentile church at Antioch where he encouraged many (including Saul) and the disciples were first called "Christians". In Acts 10, Peter takes the Gospel to the Gentiles for the first time, a pivotal moment in redemptive history. Pastor David Horner shows us from Acts 10 that the Gospel is our only hope of salvation, that nobody is beyond the Gospel's reach, that God uses people like us to share the Gospel, and that the Gospel is all about Jesus.

In Acts 9:32–43, Peter heals a man named Aeneas and restores a woman named Dorcas to life. Pastor Doug Horner preaches a message today called "The Greatest Miracle."

Saul's radical conversion made him a completely new man. Jesus doesn't merely improve us or change us – he makes us completely and totally new. And that newness comes with a new message, new transformation, new suffering, and a new family. Pastor David Horner preaches from Acts 9:19-31.

In Acts 9:1-19, God turned the world upside down for Christianity's #1 enemy: Saul of Tarsus. Appearing to him on the Damascus road, Jesus called him out of darkness and into the light. Nothing is impossible with God! Pastor Doug Horner preaches a message titled, "The Conversion of Saul."

The Lord set up a divine appointment for Philip the evangelist, who shared the good news of Jesus with an Ethiopian eunuch on a desert road in Acts 8:26-40. God has divine appointments for all who follow after him, and for all who are searching for Him. Pastor David preaches a message titled, "Divine Appointments".

Stephen was the first martyr of the Church, killed for his testimony about Christ. But while some may see such a death as a tragic waste, Acts tells us differently. In Stephen's story, we see that God uses suffering to show us His glory, to conform us to His glory, and to advance His glory. Pastor David Horner preaches from Acts 7:54-8:4.

When Stephen was put on trial before the leaders of Israel, he recounted the history of Israel – showing how although he was the one on trial, they were the ones who had rejected God's Messiah, just as their ancestors had rejected the prophets before them. They had failed to abide with God and receive His provision for sin in Jesus Christ. We must be a people who abide with God through relationship with His Son! When the Church works as a team, the Gospel advances. We see this in three movements in Acts 6:1-7 as the Church faces a problem, proposes a solution, and experiences wonderful results. Pastor David Horner preaches from Acts 6:1-7 in a message titled, "Gospel Teamwork".

As the Gospel spreads, opposition to it continues to intensify. The apostles are faced with a decision: obey men and stay silent or obey God and share Christ. Despite persecution, the Spirit enabled the fearless testimony of the Church to continue. Today pastor Doug encourages us with 4 insights: 1) Our rescue is for God's purpose, 2) fill Jerusalem with the Gospel, 3) obey God rather than Men, and 4) blessed are those counted worthy to suffer for Jesus' name.

John 3:16 tells us about the greatest gift ever given. It was a gift that God gave to the world, motivated by love. It is a gift that all are invited to partake in. It is a gift that takes a person from eternal death to eternal life. It is the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Hundreds of years before his birth, Isaiah prophesied that "the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." In Jesus, "Immanuel" has come – God with us. Pastor Doug Horner preaches from Matthew 1:18-25 and Isaiah 7:1-14 in this special Christmas message.

We recently had a team of people visit Dearborn, MI, a city that has the densest Muslim population in the U.S. They partnered with a local church to help teach English using Biblical stories, engage in street evangelism, pass out Gospels, and show a film in a local park that's all about Jesus. On the day of Pentecost, Jesus sent the promised Holy Spirit in a miraculous way, a great harvest took place, and the New Testament Church was born. The harvest of Pentecost is still happening to this day, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can take part in it today.
