Send us Fan MailIn this episode, we explore how we can be disciplined, prayerful, and grounded in Scripture, yet still feel pulled back by patterns we don't understand. We talk about hidden agreements—the quiet beliefs we've mistaken for reality—that shape how we respond, what we expect, and what we believe is possible with God. We share personal stories about wrestling with beliefs around control, credibility, appearance, and always needing to be “okay,” and we unpack how these internal agreements can operate unnoticed until we bring them into the light. Through Scriptures like Proverbs 23:7, 2 Corinthians 10:5, and Psalm 139:23–24, we talk about renewing the mind with honesty, grace, and truth. We also offer a simple practice we've found powerful for spiritual growth and inner healing: when a repeated struggle shows up, ask, “What would I have to believe for this to make sense?” Then bring that belief before God and ask if it aligns with His truth. We share how uncovering these deeper beliefs can loosen old patterns and open space for freedom, peace, and trust. If you've ever felt stuck and couldn't explain why, this conversation will help you recognize what may be operating beneath the surface and give you a practical starting point for change. If this encourages you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs it, and leave a review so more people can find the show.CLICK HERE to donate to our ministry and support this podcast. Send us Fan MailIn this episode, we sit with Psalm 77, a passage that begins exactly where many of us have been—awake at 2 a.m., exhausted, anxious, and wondering if God has gone quiet. As we walk through the psalm together, we make space for its honest questions without shaming them or building a whole theology from a moment of pain. We talk about how the psalm models a practical pattern for renewing the mind: naming distress, examining the conclusions our thoughts are drawing, remembering what God has done, and meditating on who God is.The turning point comes with the simple decision, “I will remember.” We discuss how attention and agency shape our spiritual and emotional lives, and why renewing the mind isn't pretending everything is fine. Christina shares from her breast cancer journey, where honesty and the choice to focus on life-giving truth meet in real time. We also explore the psalm's shift from “I” language to “You,” the powerful image of God's unseen footprints in the Red Sea, and the gentle reminder that the God who commands storms also shepherds His people with care.If this encouraged you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs it, and leave a review so more people can find the show.Support the showLearn more about our Revelation Within Community: https://www.revelationwithin.org

In this message from Ephesians 4:17–32, Pastor Jim shifts from identity to behavior, showing how a transformed life in Christ leads to transformed actions. He contrasts the “old self,” marked by futility, selfishness, and deceitful desires, with the “new self,” rooted in truth, awareness, and life in Jesus. The old way of living promises satisfaction but ultimately leads to emptiness, while the new way invites believers to actively put off harmful patterns and put on Christlike character through the renewal of the mind. This renewal is both a spiritual and intentional process, requiring daily decisions to reject falsehood and embrace truth. As believers grow in this new identity, their lives begin to reflect generosity, honesty, encouragement, and compassion. Pastor Jim emphasizes that this transformation is not just personal but communal. The new self builds up the body of Christ through truthful speech, generous action, and grace-filled words that strengthen others. Ultimately, this passage calls believers to live with intentional awareness, choosing obedience over old habits and displaying the character of Jesus in everyday life.

The goal of every kingdom is to expand, and the ultimate objective of every kingdom is to have dominion over territory. When it comes to the Kingdom of God, how does it expand? How does it attain dominion? In today's sermon, Pastor Sam Cabra examines how the Kingdom of God always expands through faith. God's dominion is already established, but we have to move past the "hope" of His kingdom coming, and into the KNOWING that His kingdom is here. This message will help us learn that faith doesn't go against reason; it goes beyond it. Send a textWhat if the voice we trust to keep us “on track” is actually the one stealing our peace? In this episode, we talk honestly about the inner critic that comments on aging, productivity, and performance—and how shame quietly shapes our choices. We name the ways it shows up: skipping church because clothes feel tight, hiding from friends because we feel behind, and calling it “motivation” when it's really condemnation.Together, we trace where that voice learned its script—culture that profits from insecurity, systems that reward performance, and even church spaces that confuse holiness with harshness. Then we hold those messages up to Scripture and find something radically different: no condemnation, compassion that leads, and an identity rooted not in roles but in being chosen, adopted, and loved. We get practical about renewing the mind, why self-hatred never produces real change, and how to build daily rhythms that turn down self-critique and turn up God's perspective. This is an invitation, not pressure—a call to abide rather than perform. If you're tired of trying harder, this conversation offers a kinder way forward and a steadier center to live from.Support the showLearn more about our Revelation Within Community: https://www.revelationwithin.org
Throughout Scripture, Jesus speaks more about the Kingdom of God than any other topic. The more Jesus speaks about something, the more likely that we need to renew our minds about that thing! Today, Pastor Sam Cabra explains what a kingdom is and what it is not. We are citizens of another world; one that has different laws and mindsets. The more we can adjust ourselves to our true citizenship, the more we will see Heaven invade our families, jobs, and lives.Thank you for partnering with Reunion Hawaii! Allowing God to transform you by changing the way you think.
Has God ever seemed silent (especially in moments when you need Him the most)? When the promises over our lives are delayed, does our trust in God waiver? Today Pastor Sam Cabra spends time explaining how God will often speak to us through revelation, not through information. We find that in the Kingdom of God, things rarely move "from A to B"; in fact, they often seem to move in the opposite direction that we are anticipating! Unless we understand the goodness of God's nature, our lenses of understanding can become distorted. Thank you for partnering with Reunion Hawaii! Have you ever devoted a portion to your life to something, only to find out that God had different plans for you? Have those seasons ever left you feeling confused or wondering if you wasted your time? In today's sermon, Pastor Sam Cabra talks about God's infinite wisdom and His plans for your life. God never wastes moments, and we find that God often hides invaluable lessons in seasons that seem "wasted" or "insignificant." God is a God of process, and many times we forget that He is more interested in our development than our comfort! Thank you for partnering with Reunion Hawaii! Send a textWhat if taking your thoughts captive isn't just biblical wisdom—but something that actually changes your brain? In this episode, Patricia Holbrook is joined by Dr. Lee Warren, neurosurgeon, pastor, and author of The Life-Changing Art of Self-Brain Surgery, to explore the powerful intersection of faith, neuroscience, and emotional healing.Dr. Warren explains how repeated thoughts shape the brain over time—and why anxiety, fear, grief, and discouragement can become mental ruts. Together, they unpack what Scripture means when it calls us to take every thought captive, and how intentionally replacing lies with truth can lead to real transformation. If you're familiar with Patricia's book Twelve Inches, you'll recognize this theme immediately: the gap between what we know about God and how we feel and live it out. This episode brings scientific clarity to that spiritual bridge, showing why knowing the truth doesn't always translate into feeling free—and how that can change.
Biblical renewing of the mind is often a process. While we tend to search for correct facts and information, the process of renewing the mind is as much about HOW we think as it is WHAT we think. Continuing with our current series, Pastor Sam Cabra addresses how believers need to interpret the world around us. Is the world getting worse and worse? Should we fear wars and rumors of war? How does the Bride of Christ operate with a renewed mind in regard to all these things? In this episode, I sit down with neurosurgeon and author Dr. Lee Warren to talk about how our thoughts shape our brains and, over time, our lives. Lee draws from neuroscience, Scripture, and his own story, serving as an Army surgeon, living with PTSD, and walking through the loss of a child, to help make sense of why so many of us feel stuck in anxiety, fear, or reactivity. We talk about what Lee calls “self-brain surgery,” the practice of learning to think about our thoughts instead of being ruled by them. We explore the difference between the mind and the brain, why most of our daily thoughts aren't actually true, how trauma rewires us, and how healing can too. We also talk about gratitude, attention, habits, and spiritual warfare and why slowing down and responding with intention matters more than trying to fix everything at once. This conversation is about building resilience, telling the truth about what's happening inside us, and finding a more hopeful way forward. W. The new year is upon us, and most people associate the turning of the calendar page with CHANGE. Whether it's losing a little weight, reading their Bibles more, or being more present with their families, the world looks to the calendar as the starting point for change. But what if change came a different way? What if outer changes were unrelated to our calendars, and came exclusively because of our inner transformation? Today, Pastor Sam Cabra announces the 2026 word of the year for Reunion, "Renewing the Mind." Renewal often comes in seasons, and knowing which season we are in is critically important. Expecting the right thing in the wrong season leads to bitterness, disappointment, and pain. But as we walk in step with God, He continually reveals the times and seasons we are currently in. By faith in the power of agreement, we step into the season of Renewing our Minds in 2026.Thank you for partnering with Reunion Hawaii! Send us a textWe ask a simple but searching question: is a date on the calendar quietly running your spiritual life? Together, we talk about the common habit of waiting for January 1st—or Monday, or the “right time”—to finally change, and how that delay slowly erodes peace, fuels numbing behaviors, and keeps us distant from God. We explore the hidden costs of postponement during the holidays: overeating that dulls awareness, scrolling that steals presence, spending that numbs grief, and the pressure that crashes down when the new year arrives. Anchored in Romans 12:2, Proverbs 3:5–6, and Psalm 95, we re-frame change as daily mind renewal and trust, not a performance-driven reset. Along the way, we share honest stories of striving, fear of failure, and the relief that comes when we let go of perfectionism and return to a daily walk with God.At the heart of the episode is Look and Learn, a simple two-part rhythm for resilient growth. First, we look with God at what actually happened—without judgment—asking questions like: Was I tired? Triggered? Believing something untrue? Then we learn by naming truth we can hold onto now and considering how we might respond differently next time. This practice turns setbacks into growth points and reminds us that every moment is an invitation to begin again. We close by remembering that the gospel calls us to reliance, not resolutions, and that Philippians 1:6 assures us God Himself is faithfully carrying the process forward. In this episode of Uncommon Sense, I'm discussing my changing views on Israel, Donald Trump, and Candace Owens and why principles grounded in Scripture must always matter more than personalities.I'll discuss how easy it is to get swept up in political figures, influencers, and movements… all while forgetting that God alone is who we should be following. The devil is just like a stalker prowling around, watching, scheming, seeking someone to devour. And in these chaotic times, he's using deception, manipulation, and emotional brainwashing to pull people into confusion and ultimately into Hell.In this episode, we're talking about how the synagogue of Satan is operating openly today, pushing narratives meant to distract and divide. I am urging my listeners to stay anchored in the Word, remain spiritually alert, and refuse to be seduced by personalities, platforms, or “conservative celebrities” who very well may not be aligned with God's truth.Ultimately, we all need to return to the Bible (now more than ever) and to guard our minds and souls as the days grow darker and darker.--https://www.bible.com/
Send us a textHoliday gatherings can feel like emotional minefields, and we know how easy it is to slip into using food as a buffer when old wounds or tense dynamics resurface. In this episode, we talk honestly about how we're learning to stop hiding behind food and instead respond with wisdom, calm, and compassion. We reframe emotional eating as a short-term comfort that limits long-term growth, and then share a practical toolkit we use ourselves: crafting truth lists that anchor identity, setting healthy boundaries, and deciding food choices ahead of time so we don't collapse under decision fatigue. When tensions rise, we lean on simple breath prayers, quick pauses, and moments of presence that let grace shape our responses instead of our triggers. We also walk through our “look and learn” practice—an honest, shame-free way to reflect after a gathering and carry forward what actually helped. Scripture grounds every step for us: Romans 12:18, Psalm 139, Proverbs 4:23, Isaiah 26:3, and Colossians 3:15 remind us that peace is possible, even in difficult dynamics. We share real stories of setting boundaries, planning supportive conversations, and checking in with God throughout the day. When we choose presence over perfection and truth over people-pleasing, both our relationships and our food choices align more closely with who we are in Christ.Support the showLearn more about our Revelation Within Community: https://www.revelationwithin.org

Send us a textPerfection cracks fast during the holidays—one party, one plate too many, one “I blew it” moment—and shame rushes in. In this episode, we take that story back. We talk about why God doesn't turn away when we stumble with food, and how His Word re-frames failure through compassion and truth. Psalm 103 and Psalm 32 remind us that God meets us in honesty, not disappointment. We also look at Colossians 2 and Titus 2 to see that grace isn't a pass—it's a teacher. Grace trains us toward self-control and peace, not through rules, but through relationship with the One who knows our hearts. We share our “holiday failure truth list” as a simple, powerful way to interrupt shame in real time: no condemnation in Christ, not disqualified by struggle, and this is not the end of the story. We walk through how to record your own truths, how to return to God quickly after a stumble, and how to learn from the moment without judgment. At the center of it all is identity—knowing who God is and who we are in Him changes everything. Send us a textThe holidays can bring pressure from every side—food, family, spending, and the expectation to keep it all together. In this first episode of our Holiday Survival Guide series, we're preparing our hearts before the holiday rush begins. Together, we're learning to trade perfection and willpower for peace, presence, and a deeper connection with God. Instead of pushing through on autopilot, we're asking better questions: What happens when we invite God into our expectations, our meals, and our emotions? How might a renewed mind shift the way we eat, love, and show up this season? We also share five intentions of Spirit-led eating that act like gentle guideposts: waiting for true hunger, inviting God into every meal, choosing just-right portions, creating peaceful eating moments, and stopping at “just enough.” Along the way, we offer practical tools that actually fit real life—truth lists for gatherings, praise breaks in the car, and quick mind-renewal moments amid errands. Underneath it all is freedom: food is a gift, not a savior, and growth matters more than perfection. We're practicing grace, “failing well,” and choosing the better feast—wisdom, peace, and joy that lasts long after the decorations come down.Support the showLearn more about our Revelation Within Community: https://www.revelationwithin.org
Title: Level-HeadednessScripture Reading: Ephesians 4:21-24 Series: The “L” Fruits of JesusNotice: This message interviews one of Grace 242's covenant partners about the sketch he made of Jesus. View those images here. Like the character Riley in the movie Inside Out , every human has emotions, feelings, and attitudes; they are part of the human experience. But how do we ensure these emotions are healthy? This sermon, part of "The L Fruits of Jesus" series, explores the fruit of level-headedness.This message examines Level-Headedness through three "L"s:The Lordship of Level-Headedness: This explores what it means to place our attitudes, feelings, and emotions under the lordship of Jesus Christ. It examines the two "ditches" churches often fall into: replacing scripture's authority with feelings or removing emotions from discipleship entirely, which can lead to being spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature. The Likeness of Level-Headedness: Looking at Ephesians 4:24, this "L" discusses what it means to be "created to be like God." While God has emotions, He is impassible (His state doesn't change). Jesus, however, fully shared the human emotional experience to redeem and restore the image of God in us. In this section, Pastor Bill contrasts depictions of emotionless Jesus with a sketch that Bob from Grace 242 did. Those images may be viewed here. The Labor of Level-Headedness: This section provides practical application based on Ephesians 4:22-24. We are to "throw off" the old nature, "put on" the new, and let the Spirit "renew our thoughts and attitudes." The key question is whether we are submitting our emotions to the Master or letting our emotions master us. The goal is not to be emotionless , but to direct our emotions for God's glory.

Send us a textIn this episode, we ask an honest question: is the real issue about losing weight, or about why we want to lose it? We share personal stories—from the stage to the infusion center—about how numbers can become idols, how church culture sometimes mirrors the world's standards, and how our bodies carry layered stories of illness, medication, and seasons of life. Together, we turn to Scripture for clarity: Romans 12:2 calls for renewal, not conformity; 1 Samuel 16:7 points us back to the heart over appearance; and 1 Corinthians 6 reframes ownership, not aesthetics. We explore how the size of your body or number on the scale can get treated like a virtue and shift the conversation to motives—stewardship instead of insecurity, service instead of striving. We offer reflection prompts, identity truths to replace shame, and practical ways to reframe body stewardship around peace and function rather than optics. With compassion, we name the complexity of real bodies shaped by trauma, treatment, and hormones, and remind one another that worth can't be measured by a number. Our hope is to invite listeners into freedom—where the mind of Christ guides our goals and joy is no longer held hostage by a scale.Support the showLearn more about our Revelation Within Community: https://www.revelationwithin.org

Send us a textIn this episode, we talk about how real change doesn't begin with food rules or iron willpower, but with what's happening in our minds before a craving even hits. We open Romans 12:2, Romans 8, and Colossians 2 to show how renewing the mind reshapes our desires at the root, breaking the old cycle of restriction, rebellion, and shame. Together, we share how God does the lasting work as we choose new thought patterns and take a gentler, steadier path toward freedom. We also get very practical. We walk through identifying the thought before the craving, uncovering the belief behind the action, and using tools that meet real-life triggers like stress, comparison, or tough relationships. From the God List and quick Praise Fests to personalizing Scripture and using a Truth List, we show how to create new mental grooves that stick. With Look & Learn, we replace condemnation with curiosity, so stumbles become lessons. Our five-minute challenge helps you pause, renew your mind, and ask for God's perspective in the moment—building a lifestyle of peace, clarity, and sustainable change.Support the showLearn more about our Revelation Within Community: https://www.revelationwithin.org
