The Pirates finally gave their pitching staff some support. After scoring just three runs over the first two games of the series, Pittsburgh broke through for eight runs and 13 hits in an 8-6 win over the Rockies to avoid a sweep in Colorado. Nick Gonzales got the offense rolling with a two-run homer, Bryan Reynolds continued his outstanding June with a three-run blast, and contributions came throughout the lineup from Jake Mangum, Jared Triolo, Tyler Callihan, and Spencer Horwitz.
