Paul Skenes had a very weird interaction with a reporter last night. During his media availability, a reporter called him a "future Yankee". Crowley says that this is the only sport where that happens. The reporter was chastised by many in the Pittsburgh media. The All Star Game is meant to be fun and now it has been tarnished for Pirates fans. Jeff Passan said that the new format was going to suck, Bryce Harper kicked Rob Manfred out of a locker room, and Paul Skenes was told he is going to be a future Yankee. This is where we are in baseball right now. Crowley says we are entering a very dark period in the sport. What is the thing that snakes live in called? Crowley breaks down his top four moments from the Pirates' first half of the season. Bryan Reynolds' walk-off home run vs old friend Derek Shelton, Esmerlyn Valdez's grand slam, Tyler Callihan hitting his home run off Shohei Ohtani, and Ryan O'Hearn's 3 home runs and 10 RBIs make up the list. A lot of people texted in that Konnor Griffin's RBI double in his debut should have been among Crowley's best moments. This is the most fun Pirates team to watch since when? Even though there have been some really bad losses so far this year, they have been a lot of fun to watch. Nick Yorke's walk off single in the series against the Orioles is another honorable mention. Crowley says don't eat your veggies unless you cook them. There is something going around and veggies are to blame. Apple Cider season is almost upon us meaning it is almost time for football.

The New York Mets suffered a crushing corner infield blow as breakout third baseman Mark Vientos was placed on the injured list with a confirmed hand fracture. Corey Pieper breaks down a seismic wave of injury updates, massive impact rookie activations, high-strikeout pitching performances, and the latest FanDuel Bet of the Day. The injury bug continues to drastically alter fantasy rosters as Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez lands on the injured list with a groin strain, Zack Gelof is managing a new knee injury, and top outfield prospect Owen Caissie is expected to miss two to four weeks with a mild right calf strain. In response to these vacancies, Ryan Waldschmidt has been recalled to the big leagues while Pavin Smith was designated for assignment. On the positive side, massive offensive reinforcements have officially arrived as the Texas Rangers activated rookie sensation Wyatt Langford, and international superstar Munetaka Murakami has been activated to make his highly anticipated impact. Roster managers are also tracking solid rehab progression as Patrick Sandoval threw 4.1 innings of one-run ball and Logan Henderson logged 5.1 frames. An electric daily slate of performances featured elite strikeout upside on the mound. Gavin Williams put together an absolute masterclass with 11 strikeouts over seven brilliant innings, matched by Jesus Luzardo racking up 11 punchouts across seven frames of two-hit ball. Nathan Eovaldi fanned ten batters over six frames, Framber Valdez fired seven innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts, and Sean Manaea, Trevor Rogers, and Brady Singer turned in high-quality extended outings. Offensively, Tyler Tolbert's teammate Jake Mangum went 4-for-5 out of the leadoff spot, Ben Rice launched two home runs with five RBIs, and Esmerlyn Valdez and Bryan Reynolds hit back-to-back home runs, alongside long balls from Seiya Suzuki, Dominic Canzone, Brice Turang, and Jordan Walker, while Josh Naylor flashed surprising speed with two stolen bases. Conversely, Austin Riley bottomed out with a four-strikeout collar, Elly De La Cruz punched out three times in a hitless night, and starting pitchers Michael Wacha, Drew Rasmussen, Bryce Miller, and Andre Pallante were thoroughly blasted. For as great as he's been, it's hard to go against Bryan Reynolds and what he has done. He has Lowe topped in every category besides home runs. The Pirates haven't had 2 players with 100+ RBI in the same season since 1999 (Brian Giles and Kevin Young). Lowe and Reynolds are currently on-pace to do that.

The Pirates finally gave their pitching staff some support. After scoring just three runs over the first two games of the series, Pittsburgh broke through for eight runs and 13 hits in an 8-6 win over the Rockies to avoid a sweep in Colorado. Nick Gonzales got the offense rolling with a two-run homer, Bryan Reynolds continued his outstanding June with a three-run blast, and contributions came throughout the lineup from Jake Mangum, Jared Triolo, Tyler Callihan, and Spencer Horwitz. Jared Jones exited after three innings when a comebacker struck his elbow, but the bullpen initially answered the call. Yohan Ramirez and Evan Sisk combined for four scoreless innings before Dennis Santana and Gregory Soto made things much more interesting late. What looked like an easy win quickly became a nail-biter before the Pirates finally closed it out. Tyler and Doug break down the offensive breakout, Reynolds' big day, Jones' injury scare, the strong performances from Ramirez and Sisk, and another bullpen adventure that nearly turned a comfortable win into disaster. Alex Stumpf breaks down Cruz landing on the injured list with a fracture, why the reported 4-6 week timeline may not be as simple as it sounds, and how big of a loss this is for a Pirates offense that has relied heavily on his power, speed and on-base ability. The Pirates looked dead. Down 6-1 to the Dodgers, missing Oneil Cruz and Konnor Griffin, and staring at a fifth straight loss, Pittsburgh somehow found a way back. Neil and Doug break down Tyler Callihan's huge night, including the first two home runs of his MLB career, one of them coming off Shohei Ohtani. They also get into Jared Jones' start, Carmen Mlodzinski's rough outing, Spencer Horwitz's massive insurance homer, Bryan Reynolds robbing Ohtani, Gregory Soto closing it out, and why the bullpen remains the biggest issue even after a wild 9-8 win. Do we see more playing time for Tyler Callihan after his huge night? Jason thinks we could be close to the end of the line for Marcell Ozuna, especially once the team gets healthy again. How can the Pirates become a better team with challenging balls and strikes? Jason discussed the Oneil Cruz injury and what his recovery looks like. Jason paused, but believes we will see Konnor Griffin before July 1st since he can still perform in some aspects of the game. Who are some bullpen options in Triple A right now? Poni told Jason he is tired of the piggyback schedule within the rotation. Are the Pirates going to take a look at Aroldis Chapman going into the trade deadline?

The Pirates got off to the exact start they needed against the Dodgers, with Bryan Reynolds and Ryan O'Hearn going back-to-back in the first inning while Paul Skenes looked sharp early. Then everything fell apart. Jim and Doug break down another ugly bullpen collapse, a disastrous seventh inning, the Pirates' continued issues against left-handed pitching, the frustration with Marcell Ozuna's production, and why this team cannot keep wasting starts from Paul Skenes if it wants to be taken seriously as a playoff contender. Fantasy Six Pack: The Fantasy Six Pack Hour
Week 11 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire & Rankings: Jarren Duran Riser + Jackson Chourio Buy Low

Looking for the absolute best fantasy baseball waiver wire advice, the latest fantasy baseball trade targets, and updated fantasy baseball rankings? We break down why Jarren Duran is highlighting our latest rankings risers, analyze the underlying metrics making Jackson Chourio an elite buy-low trade target, and pinpoint exactly who you need to target before your league mates catch on. Week 11 Market Analytics & Player Teardowns The fantasy baseball landscape is shifting rapidly as we head into Week 11, requiring managers to separate real skill growth from temporary statistical anomalies. A prime example is Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran, who highlights our latest rankings risers due to underlying pace metrics that suggest a potential 30-30 campaign. Despite an elevated 29% strikeout rate, Duran has locked down the everyday leadoff spot, making his volume-heavy profile incredibly valuable. When evaluating risers like Duran or Bryan Reynolds, analyzing baseline shifts rather than riding unsustainable BABIP waves is essential to sustaining success. The trade market presents distinct buy-low windows that demand immediate action. Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio remains an elite buy-low target; his underlying barrel rates and hard-hit metrics have been teasing a massive breakout, and his recent multi-homer explosion during the series sweep shows that the acquisition window is closing incredibly fast. Similarly, Oakland's Tyler Soderstrom is showing immense growth, dropping his strikeout rate from a concerning 30% down to a highly manageable 18%. Combined with a rising launch angle at a highly favorable Sutter Health Park hitting environment, his bat is primed for a massive second-half surge. On the flip side, identifying optimal sell-high timelines is just as crucial for long-term roster construction. Christian Yelich continues to provide solid surface counting stats, but his underlying metrics paint an incredibly alarming picture. Yelich's launch angle sits at a low two degrees, paired with a meager 6% barrel rate and a career-worst average exit velocity of 88 mph. With his strikeout rate jumping nearly 30% alongside chronic back discomfort, savvy managers should trade the veteran asset now to maximize return value before rest-of-season regression fully hits. Conversely, pitching depth remains highly volatile, as highlighted by the dramatic roster shifts across standard leagues. For those looking to fill open roster spots, looking toward efficient arms like Detroit's Troy Melton or checking the underlying predictive metrics of high-upside young arms like Chase Burns provides a strategic roadmap for stabilizing team ERAs and WHIPs without burning waiver priority on low-floor assets.
