Travels With Randy Route 66 Episode 6 is here! Something Something Something Winslow, Arizona Route 66's Steepest Climb Randy discussed his journey along Route 66, focusing on the steep climb from Ash Fork to Williams, which he described as the steepest on the route. He explained that modern vehicles easily navigate this challenging terrain, unlike the early 20th-century cars that struggled to ascend. Randy also mentioned encountering abandoned cars along the route, which he finds fascinating and takes pictures of, though he lacks the expertise to identify many of the makes and models. Automotive Industry Consolidation History The discussion focused on the history of the automotive industry, with Randy sharing that a Ford Model T cost $250 in 1926 (equivalent to $4,500 today) while a Packard cost $3,300, and that there were 1,800 different car companies in the United States in the 1920s, compared to just three major companies today (Ford, GM, and Stellantis). Ty Gracie, 39, was recorded by police body-worn cameras on February 16 telling officers to shoot him in the head as he held his young daughter outside of a restaurant in northern Ohio. Employees at Bubba's 33 called Jackson Township police because Gracie was intoxicated and left with his daughter and they feared he might try to drive. Gracie denied he was intoxicated but can be heard slurring his words. September 23, 2012. Unionville, Tennessee. A fire breaks out at the farmhouse of 69-year old Molli McClaran and her 72-year old husband, Leon “Bubba” McClaran, which burns the whole residence to the ground. At the time, the couple had been taking care of two of their grandchildren - nine-year old Chloie Leverette and seven-year old Gage Daniel - but even though the burnt remains of Molli, Bubba and their two pets are recovered from the rubble, the children's remains cannot found. While the authorities are unable to conclusively determine what started the fire, there is speculation that it was an act of arson and Chloie and Gage could have been abducted by an unknown party. Were the two children the tragic victims of an accidental fire or did something more nefarious happen?
