Reconstructionist Radio was created out of a desire to spread the truths of Christian Reconstruction to the next generation of Christians. A Word In Season Volume 7 A Word In Season, Daily Messages on the Faith for All of Life - Volume 7, by R.J. Rushdoony: Description from back cover: These daily messages on the faith for all of life are unlike any compilation of Christian "devotional" ever published. In these pages, you won't find the overly introspective musings of a Christian pietist; what you'll discover are the hard-hitting convictions of a man whose sole commitment was faithfulness to God's law-word and representing that binding Word to his readers. Although Dr. R. J. Rushdoony is most known for his scholarly works on theology, history, philosophy, economics, education, and statecraft, A Word in Season reveals the intense, but simple, approach to applying one's faith to every area of life and thought. This is all done in a format of bite-sized readings on the uncompromised faith. The multi-volume series is taken from over 430 articles written by Rushdoony over the span of 25 years (1966-1991) for the California Farmer, an agricultural periodical that provided him a regular column entitled "The Pastor's Pulpit." It has long been a desire of many to see these insightful and challenging articles published in a book format. We're happy to announce that the wait is over. Read and enjoy! Hypocrisy replaces virtue when men cover their sins rather than confess them to God. This is all too common when men do not preach and practice a Biblical doctrine of confession. The challenge is first to restore the meaning of confession as taught in the Scriptures. As long as confession is seen as a Romanist doctrine, we have no hope of recovering this vital aspect of Christianity. In this pathbreaking volume R. J. Rushdoony examines the Biblical teaching on confession and sets it over against the errors of Romanism and the neo-Freudianism of modern Christian counseling. Despite the subject matter this book is remarkably readable and is sure to empower both clergy and laity as they discover the powerful tool of Biblical confession. - front book flap The post The Cure Of Souls appeared first on Reconstructionist Radio Reformed Podcast Network.

There is a marked resemblance between our time and that of Elijah and Elisha. Theirs was a time of judgment; ours is as well. But there is a deeper resemblance. Their day was an age of syncretism, of radical compromise between the worship of the Lord and Baal worship. The two had been blended together to make one religion, so that a refusal to see the necessity for uncompromising religion marked Israel. Israel rarely denied the Lord or professed open apostasy. Rather, it pursued a course of religious syncretism, using the name of the Lord but absorbing with their religion whatever faith was expedient for them. Thus, they were not open pagans, but pagans who practiced their unbelief under cover of the Lord’s name. Syncretism is again our problem. Numerous forces, powers, and persons are accorded sovereignty over man. Today, Baal-worship is again prevalent in the name of the Lord. Humanistic statism is easily and readily submitted to by churchmen: children are placed in humanistic state schools, given into the hands of enemies of God, and people are only indignant if you condemn this practice. The major concern of most church members is not the Lord’s battles, nor the urgency to make a stand against compromise, but, “How can I best enjoy life?” The similarity does not end there. Elijah and Elisha’s day was one of prosperity, a false prosperity that was largely the product of inflation. Our age, too, has been marked by an inflationary prosperity, and the loosening of moral and religious standards is one result. People want things, not qualities or virtues. This mindset demands more material wealth for men and diminishes the need for moral and educational performance and excellence. It is now a virtue to tolerate evil and to be intolerant of any material lack of man. In Chariots of Prophetic Fire, R. J. Rushdoony challenges the Church of our day to resist compromise and the temptation of expediency, and realize that the power today does not lie in politics or governments but in God’s men of faith. Protestants have trouble with their own liberation theologians. Some of them are Marxists in the Lamb's clothing, while others are merely Fabian socialists in the Lamb's clothing. Some of them just aren't willing to say...yet. (Tactics, you understand.) Ron Sider belongs to the third group. Sider's first edition of Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger created a minor sensation in conservative Protestant circles. It was the cutting edge of a radical shift of political and economic opinion in the neo-evangelical world, especially on college and seminary campuses-a shift to the far left. The book received no response until 1981, when the first edition of Productive Christians blew away Sider's claims that he was simply applying the Bible to economics. Sider has never recovered intellectually, as Chilton's third edition demonstrates. Sider's desperate attempts to "cover his flanks" in the second edition of Rich Christians are exposed by this book as a last ditch effort. Sider waffles, Sider squirms, Sider drops whole sections of the original book, Sider changes a few words and quietly shifts controversial sections (exposed in Chilton's earlier editions) to other chapters, but still nothing works. There is no place left for Sider to hide. Chilton makes it clear: Sider understand neither the Bible nor economics when it comes to his conclusions about profits, taxes, foreign aid, and Western guilt for the Third World poverty. To put it bluntly, this book definitely destroys what little was left of Sider's position. The Sider phenomenon, intellectually speaking, is finished. This book is its gravestone. We have just ended a century dominated by a multitude of failed prophecies from those who looked to be raptured out of a collapsing world at any moment. The dawning of a new millennium will hopefully cause the Church to pause and consider whether these discredited prophets should be hooted off the stage. Victory in Jesus: The Bright Hope of Postmillennialism offers a sober and faithful examination of Scripture while clearly demonstrating that Christians have every reason to expect the victory of Jesus and the triumph of the gospel as the Great Commission is fulfilled on earth. The first three chapters (edited from lectures delivered by Dr. Bahnsen), offer a simple and easy to understand presentation of eschatology in general and especially postmillennial eschatology. These chapters are foundational and provide an excellent start for the person who wants a survey of the topic without too much technical or theological language. The last two chapters build on this foundation and layout a more advanced and in-depth explanation of the postmillennial position. Person holding a sign that says: The End Is Near Man in Business Suit says: "Have I got time for a cup of coffee?" This is one of those pictures that really is worth ten thousand words. It summarized this book's thesis: the cultural bankruptcy of modern evangelicalism and its chief cause, the doctrine of Christ's momentary return. The Anti-Slavery Alphabet was anonymously written for an anti-slavery fair in Philadelphia. It's primary audience was children, but it was certainly enjoyed by adults as well. The following is a talk given on September 16, 2005, at Chalcedon’s 40th Anniversary Conference in Cumming, GA. As this is a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the founding of Chalcedon, I would like to share some things I do not normally have a chance to relate, except in bits and pieces in private conversation. I would like to talk about Chalcedon’s origins from the perspective of the life and ministry of its founder, my father, Rousas John Rushdoony. God’s sovereign providence is evident in how my father even came to be born in America. In order to explain how his thinking developed, I have to go back to the Old World in which he was conceived. Question and Answer session, Freedom Conference 2016, Immanuel Baptist Church, Tucumcari, NM. This is the only session in which someone got angry and actually gathered the kids and stormed out. Session 4, Freedom Conference, 2016, Tucumcari, NM. Bojidar Marinov. So, you've decided you have a duty to resist tyrants. Great! Now, don't be an idiot. Session 3 from the 2016 Freedom Conference in Tucumcari, NM. Where did we get the idea that government should be divided into legislative, executive, and judicial branches? Hint: NOT the Bible! What do the Scriptures say about "executive" power and who should be allowed to wield it? The answer might surprise you. This is Session 2 of the 2016 Freedom Conference held in Tucumcari, New Mexico at Immanuel Baptist Church. Session 1 at the 2016 Freedom Conference in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Immanuel Baptist Church hosted Bojidar Marinov as featured speaker. In this opening session, we begin to talk about the prevalent, but greatly mistaken, interpretation of Romans 13:1-7 that would have Christians yield unqualified obedience to even the worst of civil states. Marinov shows that, in its historical context (specifically, the pagan concept of "oneness of being," which animated the Roman empire,) Paul's words in that passage are actually revolutionary, and not merely in the sense of "innovative." They are revolutionary in the sense of "seditious," and they spelled the eventual end of that beastly empire. In the period following the death of King David the people of Israel became deeply entrenched in a syncretistic form of religion that fused elements of the worship of Yahweh with the ancient fertility cults of Canaan, identifying Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, with the pagan god Baal. This corrupt form of worship, which predated the monarchy but had again become ingrained in the religious practices of the people following Solomon’s own example of idolatry, lasted up until the exile. Reforms instituted by good kings barely touched the religion of the people, whose cultic practices operated at the syncretistic folk-religion level, not in terms of the religious practices of the temple and the priesthood established in the Mosaic law, which was frequently forgotten, at times even completely lost. In large part it was this corruption of the worship of Yahweh that precipitated the Babylonian captivity. What lesson can twenty-first century Christians learn from this period of biblical history? Are there any similarities, at any level, between the mind-set of the ancient Hebrews of this period and the world-view of modern Western society that can help us to understand the spiritual blindness that overwhelmingly dominates modern Western Churches? This essay seeks to provide answers to these questions and thereby provide some guidance for the way out of the present spiritual and moral failure that is leading to the ruin of contemporary Western society.
