    Basic questions are good starting points to be able to reveal information that we might not have otherwise considered before. When considering new information, it's possible to uncover a different solution than what wasn't obvious before. Rick talks about open-ended inquiries and asking better questions based on that "new" information. It's really about stacking: Being able to gain new skills by asking ourselves (and maybe those whom we are helping) the right questions. Rick defines Active Questioning: Thinking of yourself as an explorer and look for the actions that create the results we really want. Sometimes we need questions to peel back the layers, see what occurred and then proceed with different actions. Perspective Shifting is a way of recognizing that there could be a better way of dealing with a situation or problem. More importantly, when you find that better way of dealing with a challenge, you adopt that perspective going into the future.  The example Rick gives this episode is a mutual friend who loves to go on Roller Coasters. Rick was able to turn anxiety into excitement and contrasts this with his friend who was calm, cool and collected even during the thrill ride.  Self-Identity that is wrapped up in Perspective Shifting are negative talk like fat, shy, fearful, ugly or poor. These are limiting beliefs.
