Basic Christian teaching
May we guard our lips when it comes to complaining. We do a great disservice to the Kingdom of God when we complain, especially if it's a habit.
Have you ever observed a person who is physically blind. They may have a cane or even a dog to lead them. but, the sad fact is, they are still blind. Today i see something that is far worse than physical blindness, It is spiritual blindness. People that are blind to the fact that they are lost without God. And, even if they become aware of their plight, they still refuse to acknowledge their need of God and His Son, Christ Jesus.
We all are going to live forever somewhere. The question is,are we going to live with Jesus, God the Father and the Holy Ghost in eternal bliss,,, or because we rejected God, be condemned to an eternal lake of fire. God has fixed an escape route. Are we going to take the route or not.
Many people have a preconceived idea of what defines someone of being a Christian. Let's take a few minutes to examine what the Word of God has to say about this subject.
There is a new craze (trend) sweeping through many churches, especially in the USA. The trend is affirming people in their sin but not calling on these folks to repent and turn to Jesus. No matter what the idol we may have in our life, God is calling on ALL of us to repent and turn to Him for forgiveness of sins through His son, Jesus Christ, the one and only way to God.
After becoming a Christ follower, we are all called to serve in some capacity. We may not be a preacher, teacher, deacon, singer or musician, but we can all serve.
May we all realize why this is the most joyous time of the year.
I am very afraid that in these last days many people are not living in reality. Also, many Christians, I am afraid have been rocked to sleep by the devil. My prayer is, is that we all would examine our life and make any adjustments that need to be made.
What kind of an influence are we having on our kids. The influence MIGHT be the determining factor on whether our kids will be a follower of Christ or not.
We are in trouble folks. Our country needs to return to a biblical foundation upon which we were founded. We need preachers to return to God's word and allow God to bring us healing.
Not much is said about humility anymore but Jesus taught unless we humble ourselves as little children we would not enter the kingdom of God.
Even if we live to be 100, in comparison to eternity, this is not very long, considering the fact that we are in actuality going to live forever. Only what we do for God is what will matter in eternity.
People wonder, what is the will of God? The Bible teaches two aspects of God's will. The perfect (set or absolute) will of God. Also, the Permissive will of God which is certain actions He does not endorse but allows to happen due to the fact that we live in a fallen world.
New Year's resolutions are fine yet most people do not keep them. I believe as His called out people, it is easier and more productive to make daily resolutions.
During this gift centered holiday let us as God's children keep our eyes on the true meaning of Christmas. The birth of the Messiah, Jesus Christ the Son of God. The One who saves us from our sins.
Thanksgiving should be a way of life for a believer, not just a one day event every November.
Hell is all but forgotten in many churches today. Jesus taught on this subject many times. On this episode I read an article that was penned by John Thomas.
There is an old saying that states “an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.” This is also true in the Christian life. May we guard our hearts by spiritually practicing preventive medicine.
We live in a day of spiritual illiteracy. In the USA we take for granted that which we have in our possession, God's written word. May we not take this for granted and ignore the blessing we have at our fingertips.
To allow hypocrites to keep us from having fellowship with other Christians is a poor excuse to miss church. Does this keep us from other activities. I don't think so. No, it only keeps us out of church.
No person in history ever suffered like Job with the exception of our Lord Jesus Christ when He was on the cross paying for our sins. What can we learn from Job's trials.
Jesus not only suffered on the cross, He suffered before the cross. Betrayal by Judas Iscariot, Peter's denial, disciples denial, his own peoples denial, and to top it off, our denial when we do not act the way we should act. This is something to think about.
In the race called life, as Christ followers, we are going to have good days as well as bad days. The key to success is staying in the race. To win, all we have to do is finish the race. Jesus will help us in our journey to the finish line.
If there was ever a time we needed encouragement, the time is now. Our world is falling apart, or is it. Maybe, everything is falling into place for the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We all worry sometimes, but as the Psalmist said, “ why so downcast oh my soul, I will hope in the LORD.” Hope is found in CHRIST.
All Christians have faith in God. The question is ,,, do we have faith in His timing. Are we persistent in our prayers to our loving Father or do we falter when we feel as though He is not acting quickly enough on our behalf.
As Christians, we must realize that God is sovereign. Because He is sovereign, He may take us down a road that we may not necessarily agree with,,, but do not fret, our loving Heavenly Father sees what we don't always see,,, the BIG PICTURE.
We all will eventually face some sort of trauma in our life, Resilience is the ability to bounce back but the key to success is, a Christian does not do this by their own strength but through the strength of Christ.
Do we want to have an impact for the kingdom of God, being a thankful person is one key.
As Christians, we represent Christ and we need to be careful with the words we speak. We will have ultimate victory in the future. Complaining only does harm to our witness for Christ. May we guard against complaining.
Many peoples lives are being ruined by these three culprits in the last days. But, to the child of God, we can run to the Savior, Jesus Christ, and unload our burdens on Him.
Although the world around us is falling apart, the kingdom of Christ will prevail.
For the most part, all of us have to go into debt sometimes, but as Christians, may we guard against going into massive debt and by not paying our bills, we give ourselves, our church, and our Lord Jesus a black eye.
Although we may feel unimportant sometimes, every Christian is a vital part of the body of Christ.
We all face suffering from time to time, but God's promise to his children is; ALL THINGS work together for good to them that are called according to His purpose.
We live in the offend me generation. The day will come when we will wish we still had preachers that told us the truth and called us to repentance even if they offended us!
The Title says it all
Jesus is our only hope. Hope is not found in money, possessions, relationships, politicians, and the list goes on and on.
We live in the offend me generation. But, if we are going to do anything for Christ, we must forgive and keep moving forward or fall by the wayside.
When life hits us in the mouth and eventually life hits all of us in the mouth, the key to overcoming is keeping our eyes on Jesus who is the gold medal of Christianity. JESUS is the prize!
How truly it easy to be thankful when we as God's people choose to do so!
God calls on all people and nations to repent from their sin and follow Christ because a day is coming when repentance will become impossible!
How a bad week that was predetermined by God for Jesus became a blessing for lost humanity!
