If the purpose of life is to live according to the expectations of others, then I'm doing it wrong. Let's have the conversations no one wants to have. Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/sellout. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
The Sellout podcast is a thought-provoking and engaging show that delves into various topics with a unique perspective. Hosted by Savannah, or Savvy as she is known on social media, this podcast brings her insightful thoughts and eloquent speaking style to a platform where she can dive deeper into subjects that matter.
One of the best aspects of The Sellout podcast is Savvy's ability to ask thought-provoking questions and promote meaningful discussions. Her questions often challenge both sides of the aisle, encouraging listeners to think critically about their own beliefs and consider different perspectives. This creates an intellectually stimulating environment where listeners can expand their knowledge and understanding.
Another great aspect of this podcast is Savvy's level-headedness and ability to remain calm and composed in her discussions. She approaches topics with an open mind, allowing for productive conversations that avoid unnecessary confrontations or biases. It's refreshing to listen to someone who can navigate controversial topics with grace and respect.
On the downside, one could argue that The Sellout podcast could benefit from more diverse guests and viewpoints. While Savvy does a great job on her own discussing important issues, incorporating different voices into the conversation could provide even more depth and enrich the listener experience. Additionally, some may find that the episodes are not released frequently enough, leaving them wanting more content from this insightful host.
In conclusion, The Sellout podcast delivers interesting insights on various topics through engaging conversations led by Savvy's intellectual curiosity. With her ability to ask thought-provoking questions and challenge both sides of the aisle, she provides listeners with an opportunity to expand their knowledge while remaining level-headed throughout. While there may be room for improvement in terms of guest diversity and episode frequency, overall, this podcast is a great resource for those seeking intelligent discussions on important matters.

It's entertaining enough, but it's an ineffective thriller. It's a big idea with no where to go and no one to guide it. What should have been an easy blockbuster hit has turned into one of the saddest box office cases of 2023. "The Color Purple" made $18.1 Million on its Christmas Day opening, but it's projected to lose between $80 million and $100 million, and to make matters worse the industry isn't taking the "Oscar bait." What happened? Why did a movie with a seal of approval from Stephen Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey tank so quickly? Hopefully, this is a lesson learned for big studios: Stop spending four-quadrant money on one-quadrant movies.Trailer: https://youtu.be/wPwzBUui1GA?si=yVAdRDZk9P-LKgmaFollow Me On:TikTok @thisissavvyInstagram @alrightletstalkaboutitTwitter @thisissavvy1Criticless https://bit.ly/45D7kGQAdvertisement/Business Inquiries: contactsavannahme@gmail.comSUPPORT THIS PODCASTSubscribe To My Substack: https://thisissavvy.substack.com/Venmo/CashApp/Paypal: thisissavvyRequest a Custom Video from Me: https://link.shoutout.fans/SavannahEdwardsSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/sellout. I don't know if it's because it's an international film and we (Americans) are considered a foreign market or if Japanese studios think Americans won't enjoy it, but the noise surrounding this movie is too quiet and it's not getting the marketing it deserves. The more I think about it, the angrier I get. If the point was to commemorate and celebrate 100 years of Disney, I expected better. The plot is weak, the protagonist is unlikeable and the sidekick goat is obnoxious. "The Marvels" is fun trash. It's entertaining, goofy, and the opposite of serious, but it's well below normal Marvel expectations. With a weak story, weak plot, and a forgettable villain this movie serves to fill the gaps rather than stand on its own. Brie Larson's Carol Danvers is supposed to be the draw, but newcomer Iman Vellani's performance saves this film from being a flat, heartless mess. Happy "The Marvels" Week...or not. This seems to be the most anticipated movie of the year with presales trailing behind box office bombs such as "The Flash" and "Black Adam." Yes, the SAG Strike is still happening, but Marvel should be able to see itself. The fanfare should produce enough word of mouth to guarantee a slam dunk, but this might be a cinematic airball. Before stepping into new adventures with Carol Danvers, Kamala Kahn, and Monica Rambeau, let's see what went well with "Captain Marvel" and what could go wrong here.Follow Me On:TikTok @thisissavvyInstagram @alrightletstalkaboutitTwitter @thisissavvy1Criticless https://bit.ly/45D7kGQAdvertisement/Business Inquiries: contactsavannahme@gmail.comSUPPORT THIS PODCASTSubscribe To My Substack: https://thisissavvy.substack.com/Venmo/CashApp/Paypal: thisissavvyRequest a Custom Video from Me: https://link.shoutout.fans/SavannahEdwardsRoyalty-free music by Slip.stream https://slip.stream/Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/sellout. I can recall the first time I watched a Hitchcock film (Vertigo in 2004) and I remember the second Hitchcock film I watched (Frenzy in 2006), but I don't remember the first time I saw Psycho. I got my first Netflix account in 2010 and I know this movie was in my DVD queue, but I'm almost positive I saw it sometime before then.I'm often asked about my favorite movies and this classic is definitely in the top 5. I can watch this over and over and never get bored, and at this point, I'm sure I can recite it word for word from memory. While it's well-acted and beautifully shot with great sound mixing and film editing, I love the structure. I love how this story starts one way and then shifts into something else, how we're following Marion on an ill-conceived journey only to be abandoned halfway through. Psycho is as beautiful as it is disturbing, but it's timeless and one of my absolute favorites.Trailer: https://youtu.be/DTJQfFQ40lI?si=xrodLfYf1_dBEzPyFollow Me On:TikTok @thisissavvyInstagram @alrightletstalkaboutitTwitter @thisissavvy1Criticless https://bit.ly/45D7kGQAdvertisement/Business Inquiries: contactsavannahme@gmail.comSUPPORT THIS PODCASTSubscribe To My Substack: https://thisissavvy.substack.com/Venmo/CashApp/Paypal: thisissavvyRequest a Custom Video from Me: https://link.shoutout.fans/SavannahEdwardsSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/sellout. What's the secret to good horror movies: character development. Create three-dimensional characters and give your audience time and space to bond with them so the audience has reason to care when things happen to them. Nia DaCosta fails in this aspect. Instead of pushing us to bond with the main character she tries to force us to feel something for the film's central social issue. It's visually stunning but thematically loose, but more importantly…it's not scary.Trailer: https://youtu.be/Wzh4Q88sthY?si=rDhBAOoaaBlurK7CFollow Me On:TikTok @thisissavvyInstagram @alrightletstalkaboutitTwitter @thisissavvy1Advertisement/Business Inquiries: contactsavannahme@gmail.comSUPPORT THIS PODCASTSubscribe To My Substack: https://thisissavvy.substack.com/Venmo/CashApp/Paypal: thisissavvyRequest a Custom Video from Me: https://link.shoutout.fans/SavannahEdwardsSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/sellout. Welcome to the inaugural episode of Two Dollar Tuesdays because it sounds slightly cooler than Throwback Thursdays. Allow me to introduce you to my introduction to the study of film. My first "film" class was a high school elective called "Film as Literature" and one of the first films we watched was the 1996 film, Twister. While it might seem like an odd choice, it has all the classic elements writers and filmmakers use to tell stories. This movie ruined me for all of movie-watching eternity, and I'm here to pay it forward. Buckle up!Trailer: https://youtu.be/OgG2jfBfLzI?si=1gHs0d0vilmC3EScFollow Me On:TikTok @thisissavvyInstagram @alrightletstalkaboutitTwitter @thisissavvy1Advertisement/Business Inquiries: contactsavannahme@gmail.comSUPPORT THIS PODCASTSubscribe To My Substack: https://thisissavvy.substack.com/Venmo/CashApp/Paypal: thisissavvyRequest a Custom Video from Me: https://link.shoutout.fans/SavannahEdwardsSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/sellout. A solid end to a carnage-packed trilogy. Denzel Washington in "The Equalizer 3" reminds us why the movie star era was the greatest era.Trailer: https://youtu.be/406jOVmKqAE?si=-Fn3T-T7OHiAACVvFollow Me On:TikTok @thisissavvyInstagram @alrightletstalkaboutitTwitter @thisissavvy1Advertisement/Business Inquiries: contactsavannahme@gmail.comSUPPORT THIS PODCASTSubscribe To My Substack: https://thisissavvy.substack.com/Venmo/CashApp/Paypal: thisissavvyRequest a Custom Video from Me: https://link.shoutout.fans/SavannahEdwardsSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/sellout. Message heavy, low quality. That's what I expect from faith-based films, and this isn't any different. "The Hill" has moments of cheese and cringe, but it does what it needs to do. It's a great over-dinner conversation starter.Trailer: https://youtu.be/wXj7IRAAGb4?si=xHFik7HYtyLsnaLHFollow Me On:TikTok @thisissavvyInstagram @alrightletstalkaboutitTwitter @thisissavvy1Advertisement/Business Inquiries: contactsavannahme@gmail.comSUPPORT THIS PODCASTSubscribe To My Substack: https://thisissavvy.substack.com/Venmo/CashApp/Paypal: thisissavvyRequest a Custom Video from Me: https://link.shoutout.fans/SavannahEdwardsSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/sellout. FINALLY! A sports underdog story! "Gran Turismo" is too much of a slow burner for my liking, but thankfully it ends so much better than it starts. Representation matters, they say, but is it enough? "Blue Beetle" is fun, but it's lacking. Let's talk about it! Social Media is the future whether we like it or not. It's how people are connecting and how they're getting information, including their film reviews. The NY Times interviewed a few film content creators to get their take on this shift in the film journalism industry. I don't believe the article correctly articulates what #MovieTok is and its role in this ever-changing industry.Article: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/15/movies/tiktok-movie-reviews-critics.htmlCan't get passed the paywall? Disney's next live-action remake, Snow White, doesn't come out until March 2024 and is already on a downward spiral. Interviews from September 2022 made their way to social media a few weeks ago and they have people of all shapes, shades, and opinions asking questions. Rachel Zegler, who plays the titular character, really stuck her foot in it and the timing couldn't be worse.Follow Me On:TikTok @thisissavvyInstagram @alrightletstalkaboutitTwitter @thisissavvy1Advertisement/Business Inquiries: contactsavannahme@gmail.comSUPPORT THIS PODCASTSubscribe To My Substack: https://thisissavvy.substack.com/Venmo/CashApp/Paypal: thisissavvyRequest a Custom Video from Me: https://link.shoutout.fans/SavannahEdwardsSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/sellout.
