Welcome back to Night City, where Tyler has acquired a another cat, Randall has acquired a bedazzled bulletproof vest, and Ash has apparently acquired the Cyberpunk equivalent of Five Nights at Freddy's. This week, Marky Day becomes Marky Knight and walks willingly into something everyone immediately identifies as a murder hallway. Dave gets set on fire by a computer, Marky discovers that cartoon mascots are weak against bullets, and together they spend every remaining resource to adopt a homicidal digital hyena. Somehow, all of this turns out to be the easy part, because at the end of the hallway is a cybernetic nightmare, their kidnapped employer, and a corporate executive offering them double their money to please stop asking questions. Welcome to Cyberpunk RED, chooms. Capitalism has a boss fight. Show Notes Marky Day and Dave Costanzo reach the twentieth floor of Discom and immediately discover that the cheerful corporate mascots are actually armed security drones. While Marky fights Buster Swine and Electric Bunny in meat space, Dave dives into the Net Architecture, battles a Hellhound, catches fire, and eventually hijacks Hyperactive Hyena to turn Discom's own security against itself. After stabilizing a seriously wounded Marky, Dave pushes deeper into the network and uncovers evidence that Discom has been targeting local 3D artists. J-ZK's name has been crossed off the list with the ominous note that she is no longer an issue. Behind the final door, they find J-ZK restrained and wired into machinery. Mr. Frommiter reveals that he is also Gangster 3D and admits that he kidnapped her after she refused to work for Discom. He offers Marky and Dave double their original payment to walk away. Marky chooses violence. Key Takeaways Marky battles Discom's armed mascot drones while Dave Netruns simultaneously. Dave survives a Hellhound attack, gets set on fire, and later loses his Sword program to an Asp. Marky is seriously wounded but stabilized with First Aid. Dave spends all his Luck to hijack Hyperactive Hyena and turn it against Discom. Discom has been pressuring and recruiting 3D artists across Night City. Mr. Frommiter and Gangster 3D are the same person. J-ZK has been kidnapped and forcibly connected to Discom's equipment. Frommiter offers the team double their pay to leave. Sorg and Dave Podnar are back for another AwesomeCast packed with Pittsburgh tech, gaming, streaming, photography, AI, retro media, and a surprisingly practical app for finding a bathroom when you really need one. The episode starts locally with Dave highlighting Stormfreak, a Pittsburgh-area weather enthusiast who has built a following on Reddit by offering practical, level-headed forecasts without the sensationalism that often accompanies severe weather coverage. That leads into a bigger conversation about how Reddit, YouTube, and independent creators increasingly fill information gaps once occupied by traditional specialty television. Sorg then takes a trip back to the video-store era with Binge Buster, a web experience that lets users browse movies available on their existing streaming subscriptions in an interface inspired by wandering through the shelves of a physical rental store. Gaming takes over a large part of the conversation, including EA going private in a massive Saudi-backed deal, Netflix getting an extended GTA 6 preview, Atari showing signs of financial improvement, the possibility of accessing Xbox and PC Game Pass titles on Linux and Mac through the XODUS project, new content for the original Quake, and Sorg's experience comparing Xbox cloud gaming with NVIDIA GeForce NOW. Then things get weird in the best possible way: Diablo is heading to amusement-park Halloween events, while a permanent Freddy Fazbear's Pizza experience complete with animatronics is planned for American Dream. Dave also shares his latest experience with Adobe Project Indigo, including computational photography, AI photo critiques, and the increasingly blurry line between traditional editing and generative AI. The episode wraps with two ideas that bring physical experiences back into a digital world: Pittsburgh's Lost Lizard renting VHS, DVD, and even Betamax tapes, and Nature Calls Run, an upcoming crowdsourced app designed to help runners, cyclists, travelers, and people with medical needs locate bathrooms, water, and other resources. Stories, Gadgets & Topics Discussed 300–600mm iPhone zoom lens — Dave points listeners toward iPhonography Podcast co-host Greg McMillan's detailed look at an enormous telephoto solution for iPhone photography. Stormfreak and Pittsburgh weather on Reddit — Dave highlights the local forecaster's calm, practical approach to Pittsburgh weather and the community that has formed around his posts. They discuss how independent online weather coverage can sometimes be more useful than national television coverage when people need highly local information. The changing role of specialty media — Sorg and Dave compare today's creator-driven information sources with the original promise of channels like The Weather Channel, Discovery, TLC, and Food Network. Binge Buster — Sorg tries a streaming discovery site that recreates some of the experience of browsing a video store. Users select the streaming services they already subscribe to and browse movies through virtual box art, descriptions, genres, trailers, staff picks, and more. https://bingebuster.net/ Awesome Person of the Week: Lewis Latimer — Dave profiles the inventor, draftsman, engineer, and patent expert whose work intersected with both Alexander Graham Bell's telephone patent and the development of more durable electric-light filaments. Slice on Broadway pizza sauce — Dave discovers jars of Slice on Broadway's original pizza sauce while shopping at Labriola's Italian Market. EA goes private — Chachi's Video Game Minute covers EA completing its reported $55 billion sale to a Saudi-backed buyer and what private ownership might mean for the future of EA's games and monetization. Netflix and GTA 6 — Netflix is set to feature an extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI on August 27, prompting discussion about whether GTA really needs any additional publicity. Atari's financial comeback — Atari reports its strongest annual revenue in roughly a decade, giving Sorg and Dave an opportunity to talk about the strange history of the Atari name, its changing ownership, and the collection of gaming properties associated with it over the years. Xbox games potentially coming to Linux and Mac through XODUS — Sorg discusses an open-source reverse-engineering project designed to make compatible Xbox and PC titles accessible beyond Windows, including the possibility of accessing portions of a user's existing Microsoft gaming library. Xbox backward compatibility — The conversation touches on original Xbox and Xbox 360 games potentially becoming increasingly accessible through Microsoft's PC ecosystem. New Quake content decades later — Quake continues receiving new content around its 30th anniversary, giving players another reason to revisit the classic first-person shooter. NVIDIA GeForce NOW vs. Xbox cloud gaming — Sorg compares his experience streaming games like Doom: The Dark Ages and Forza Horizon, finding GeForce NOW's higher-end hardware particularly impressive for demanding, fast-moving games. Do you still need a gaming PC? — Cloud gaming raises a bigger question: if a service already supports hundreds of games in your library and provides continuously upgraded hardware, does spending thousands on a dedicated gaming PC still make sense? Diablo invades Cedar Point and Six Flags — Blizzard's Diablo becomes part of the Halloween amusement-park experience, leading to a conversation about licensed haunted attractions and the changing amusement-park industry. Cedar Fair/Six Flags consolidation and disappearing amusement parks — Dave looks back at the history of older amusement parks, including Pittsburgh-area memories of White Swan Park and the larger trend of parks disappearing as land was redeveloped. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza becomes real — A permanent Freddy Fazbear's Pizza experience featuring animatronic stage shows is planned for American Dream in 2027. Naturally, Sorg and Dave wonder whether anybody involved has actually learned the lesson of Five Nights at Freddy's. American Dream as the modern destination mall — The conversation expands into how malls are evolving from shopping centers into entertainment destinations with theme parks, water parks, skiing, restaurants, attractions, wrestling events, and other experiences. Adobe Project Indigo — Dave continues experimenting with Adobe's computational photography app, particularly challenging lighting situations and shooting directly toward a sunset. AI-powered photography reviews — Project Indigo can analyze a photo and provide feedback, giving photographers another way to evaluate composition and possible improvements. When an AI edit becomes a different photograph — Dave demonstrates an AI edit that substantially changes clouds and the sky, prompting an important conversation about the difference between enhancing a photograph and generating new visual information. AI quietly becoming another editing tool — Sorg shares his experience using AI to quickly create client graphics and discusses how generative tools increasingly feel less like a separate novelty and more like another part of a production workflow. Lost Lizard brings video rentals back to Pittsburgh — A Lawrenceville business is renting VHS tapes, DVDs, Betamax tapes, and even retro video games. The concept triggers plenty of nostalgia for independent video stores and their wonderfully strange horror collections. Physical media versus digital ownership — Reports of purchased digital movies disappearing from user libraries lead to a larger discussion about what consumers actually own when they "buy" a digital movie. Movies Anywhere and fragmented digital libraries — Sorg discusses the usefulness of synchronizing eligible purchases across services while acknowledging that licensing can still make digital ownership complicated. Maybe it's time to buy DVDs again — The uncertainty of digital licenses gives physical media another unexpected advantage: nobody can remotely remove a disc from your shelf. Nature Calls Run — An upcoming Pittsburgh-created app will crowdsource public restrooms, water sources, and other useful resources for runners, cyclists, travelers, parents, and anyone suddenly asking the most important question of the day: "Where can I go?" https://naturecallsapp.com/ Restroom access as an accessibility and medical issue — The app also plans to educate users about restroom-access laws affecting people with conditions including Crohn's disease and IBS. GCXC running events — Dave also discusses upcoming Pittsburgh-area races and the community surrounding GCXC events. https://gcxc.com/events-pa Support AwesomeCast: https://www.patreon.com/awesomecast

A golfer allegedly fakes a hole-in-one for thousands of dollars using a sick-grandma phone call as cover, and somehow that's only the beginning of today's nonsense. The Rizzuto Show is back with another funny podcast packed with St. Louis chaos, celebrity gossip, questionable decisions, movie arguments, music trivia, and the sort of stories that make you wonder how we've managed to keep microphones this long. The main event comes straight out of the St. Louis area, where a member golf tournament at WingHaven Country Club reportedly turned into an elaborate hole-in-one caper. According to the story, a golfer told his group that his grandma was in the hospital and he might need to step away for an important phone call. Totally understandable. Very wholesome. Absolutely nothing suspicious happening here. Then the call arrives near a par-three hole.He heads up alone, supposedly hits his tee shot while nobody is watching, and when everyone reaches the green… would you look at that? His ball is IN THE HOLE.A hole-in-one! What a miracle! Grandma must be so proud! There's just one tiny problem: cameras. The crew digs into the allegations that surveillance footage caught the golfer visiting the hole before the round, creating a divot and putting a ball in the cup. Suddenly, Grandma's hospital call becomes one of the most aggressively suspicious excuses in golf history. With reports that the hole-in-one pot may have been around $9,000, the guys debate the most important question: how much money does it take before you're willing to risk becoming the guy who allegedly invented a medical emergency for Grandma to cheat at golf? From there, this funny podcast moves naturally into the next logical subject: whether Jonah Hill could annihilate everyone in a fight.Hill's Brazilian jiu-jitsu confidence gets the Rizz Show treatment as the guys debate martial arts, celebrity bravado, Michael Cera's hypothetical fighting abilities and why the people who could actually fold you into a carry-on bag are usually the least interested in telling everybody about it.We also celebrate Missouri's birthday with a rundown of inventions, foods and famous names tied to the Show-Me State. Toasted ravioli? Obviously. Gooey butter cake? Put some respect on it. The microchip? Apparently Missouri has been doing a little more than deep-frying carbohydrates this whole time. Then Crap on Celebrities arrives with another truckload of entertainment gossip and pop culture commentary. Mark Zuckerberg's massive yacht gets dragged into controversy after a stranded boat reportedly needed help in Alaska. Britney Spears warns fans about a bad Botox experience. The crew gets into movie box-office numbers, Spider-Man, Super Troopers, Bugonia, Weapons and The Dink, because apparently nobody can simply say “I liked the movie” without turning it into a federal hearing. There's also Harry Potter actress Jessie Cave discussing the surprising money she's making on OnlyFans without nudity, Blink-182 heading back into the studio, Five Nights at Freddy's becoming an actual immersive restaurant experience, and a debate over the greatest new wave singers that quickly proves nobody is completely sure where “new wave” begins or ends.Add in Bob Marley's ridiculous Billboard longevity, the biggest-selling albums of all time, celebrity birthdays and the usual collection of side quests, arguments and unnecessary observations, and you've got another daily dose of The Rizzuto Show. It's celebrity news, weird news, St. Louis stories and sarcastic humor crammed into one comedy podcast — because apparently discussing an alleged fake hole-in-one for this long is considered a profession.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Rizzuto is back from France, which means it's finally time to answer the question nobody asked: Can one man visit one of the most beautiful cities in the world and still come home with enough complaints to fill a morning show? Oui.An Amber Alert that woke up half the city before taking a bizarre turn, plus Scott's live music adventure at Copper Fire, where the performance went great once the minor technical issue of the speakers actually producing sound was finally addressed. We also learn that Rizzuto is approaching the end of age 47, supposedly the happiest year of his life. Great news to discover right before it expires. Then comes important local Italian-American business: the world's oldest ravioli maker is opening its first U.S. manufacturing facility in St. Charles. Naturally, Rizzuto immediately begins wondering why his invitation to the ribbon cutting hasn't arrived. If there's a giant ravioli involved and this man isn't allowed to emerge from it holding an oversized pizza cutter, then frankly, what are we even doing here? There are positives. The Paris Catacombs were incredible, featuring the bones of millions of people and the mildly unsettling realization that apparently enough tourists try to steal human remains that bags need to be checked on the way out. A nighttime river cruise delivered gorgeous views of the Eiffel Tower. There were baguettes. There was an absolutely elite steak sandwich. And yes, Paris itself occasionally managed to impress our extremely difficult international correspondent. One cab driver takes the scenic interpretation of “wrong direction,” keeps the meter running, and eventually gets into a heated French argument with Rizz.Travel chaos continues with a kid refusing to buckle a seatbelt and helping get an entire flight canceled overnight. From there, we examine airport security and the long-running liquid restrictions that have forced generations of travelers to choose between personal hygiene and bringing enough shampoo to survive Tuesday.A golfer allegedly fakes a hole-in-one for thousands of dollars using a sick-grandma phone call as cover, and somehow that's only the beginning of today's nonsense.Hill's Brazilian jiu-jitsu confidence gets the Rizz Show treatment as the guys debate martial arts, celebrity bravado, Michael Cera's hypothetical fighting abilities and why the people who could actually fold you into a carry-on bag are usually the least interested in telling everybody about it.We also celebrate Missouri's birthday with a rundown of inventions, foods and famous names tied to the Show-Me State. Texting, remote work, apps, online ordering, and our collective desire to avoid asking strangers how their day is going may be slowly murdering small talk. Naturally, this turns into a debate over whether small talk is an important social skill or just an obstacle standing between you and the salad you ordered downstairs.Moon admits that talking to strangers has basically become his personal training regimen, Rafe defends the lost art of actually communicating with another human being, Scott brings the small-town friendliness, and Rizz is patiently waiting for telepathy so he can stop participating altogether.First up: is having roommates a romantic deal breaker? A dating trend suggests some singles see living alone as proof that you've got your life together financially and personally. That raises the obvious question: do men and women judge this the same way? Rafe has some thoughts, including exactly how much questionable housekeeping a man might overlook when he finds someone attractive. We regret to inform you the answer is: quite a bit.A 29-year-old comedian and influencer went viral after canceling a first date with a 38-year-old finance guy because his restaurant selection was too casual. Her argument? The restaurant a potential partner chooses says something about compatibility, lifestyle, and effort. The show's counterargument quickly becomes slightly less scientific: what exactly qualifies someone as “Chili's material”?Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Fabricated report triggered Amber Alert, 1-year-old boy was never in dangerWorld's oldest ravioli maker opening first US facility in St. CharlesWinter Weather Predictions 2026–2027: What's Shaping Winter So Far?Porter Flight Canceled After Toddler Blocked by YYJ Curfew: What Stranded Passengers Are OwedHe faked a hole in one. They then unpack a story about a young man who refuses to eat in front of other people, leading to a wider conversation about ARFID, sensory differences, eating disorders, and why curiosity is often more helpful than judgement. Cooper and Nolan are getting back in the cage this week when they take a trip to WILLY'S WONDERLAND! This hybrid horror/comedy saw its chance for a theatrical release thwarted by COVID, leaving Nicolas Cage fans to wonder what might have been. But that's just one of the many unanswered questions about this movie, and the guys spend an hour basically playing whack-a-mole trying to figure them all out. Why doesn't Nic Cage's character talk? How come the murderous animatronics seem to go on break whenever he does? And how did the filmmakers possibly avoid getting sued by the guys who made Five Nights at Freddy's? Finding out could be fun for the whole family, so get ready to cash in your tickets; this very special SEASON FINALE episode (featuring a beer from the Moersleutel Craft Brewery) is one prize you'll be happy to claim!

The Toolbox Murders (1978) and Toolbox Murders (2004) In this Twice Told Tales episode, we examine a film and its "remake," though few pairs could be more different. Some would argue that the 2004 film is a remake in name only. Even so, in addition to the name, the two share enough connections, both on screen and behind the scenes, to make for an interesting comparison. On one side is an unflinching exploitation film; on the other, a more modern story infused with supernatural elements—or is it? Both films are unmistakably products of their respective eras, reflecting the cultural anxieties, filmmaking styles, and audience expectations of their time. What they choose to show us, and what they feel compelled to say, reveals as much about the decades that produced them as the stories themselves. The most obvious connection between the two is their inventive use of tools as murder weapons. Whether those kills are clever, outrageous, or simply exploitative is for you to decide. The same goes for whether the 2004 film deserves to be called a true remake or is merely a title borrowed for recognition. But if both films succeed on their own terms as entertaining horror, perhaps that distinction matters less than we think. Films mentioned in this episode: The Blob (1958), Curse of Frankenstein (1957), Five Nights at Freddys (2023), The Fly (1958), The Fly (1986), Frankenstein (1931), Frankenstein (2025), Freddy vs Jason (2003), Friday the 13th (1980), The Funhouse (1981), Goodnight Mommy (2014), Goodnight Mommy (2020), The Grudge (2004), Halloween Kills (2021), Hostel (2005), Inside (2007), Ju-on: The Grudge (2002), Let Me In (2010), Let the Right One In (2008), Maniac (1980), Mother of Tears (2007), Mrs. 45 (1981), Nosferatu (1922), Nosferatu (1979), Poltergeist (1982), Psycho (1960), Psycho (1998), Quarantine (2008), [REC] (2007), The Ring (2002), Ringu (1998), The Thing (1982), The Thing from Another World (1951), Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2004), The Toolbox Murders (1978), Toolbox Murders (2004), Toolbox Murders 2: Coffin Baby (2013)

Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes.Supergirl, the DCU's second film, hit theaters last weekend and its likelihood to turn a profit is already an uphill battle. The film, which stars Milly Alcock in the title role, and was directed by Craig Gillespie, of I, Tonya fame, raked in a cumulative $68 million at the worldwide box office. With a reported budget of $170–186 million, the film needs to earn upward of $300 million just to break even. Compounding those figures, the movie currently holds a 54% average on Rotten Tomatoes and a B- Cinemascore with audiences.  The 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival took place last week and with it came announcements for a bevy of animated films and series.  DC and Warner Bros Animation particularly stood out for a number of upcoming Batman projects. The first is a series adaptation of Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta's best-selling comic series, Absolute Batman, which Warner Bros Animation is partnering with DC Studios to develop. Joker: Laughing Riot was also announced as an adult anime series that explores the Joker in a world where Batman has been killed and will be directed by LOTR: War of the Rohirrim animator Yasuhuro Aoki. If that wasn't enough animated Batmen for you, a trailer for the movie Batman: Knightfall Part One has been released and attendees of the festival were able to see and review the film ahead of its currently undated release later this year. Finally, a kid-friendly series focusing on Krypto was also confirmed to be in the works.Prime Video has renewed animated superhero series Invincible for a sixth season. The trailer debuted for Robert Eggers' anticipated return to period piece horror with Werwulf, starring Aaron Taylor Johnson, Lily Rose Depp, and Willem Dafoe.Dreamworks Animation has announced a Shrek prequel titled Donkey that has a release date of June 30, 2028. Five Nights at Freddy's: Scott Cawthon & Christian Video Games

They tried to make video games for Jesus… and accidentally invented demon-possessed animatronics instead. Turns out the road from Christian propaganda to FNaF horror mega-hit is shorter than expected. Before creating Five Nights at Freddy's, Scott Cawthon spent years making christian movies and video games designed to glorify god. Critics said his characters were too creepy… so he leaned into it and launched one of the biggest horror franchises in gaming history. From there, things get weird. This episode explores the strange world of Christian video games, the moral panic around gaming, and the not-at-all hypocritical outrage over pixels, boobs, violence, and Satan. This week, we're digging into: The FNaF origin story: how a scary animatronic beaver led to Freddy Fazbear  The Scott Cawthon controversy: politics, donations, and reputation detonation  The “holy” hustle: the rise and collapse of Left Behind Games and Digital Praise (including SEC fraud allegations)  Bizarre moral logic: why gaming violence is “silly” but a cartoon boob is a one-way ticket to hell  “Seducing children”: decoding Satanic panic rhetoric from Christian game CEOs  The Hollywood factor: what the Josh Hutcherson movie gets right about child murder Whether you're here for the FNaF lore or the spectacular failure of the Christian video game industry, this one's for you.Got thoughts?
