Universal is doubling down on pop-culture firepower with the enormously popular gaming IPs of Fallout and Five Nights at Freddy's confirmed for this year's Halloween Horror Nights. They're also charging superfans $350 for “Premium Scream Night,” a ticketed dress rehearsal. With massive IPs and superfans willing to pay premium prices just to attend a dress rehearsal, how can smaller attractions compete? Thirteenth Floor and Winchester Mystery House might have an answer with "Festival Fright Nights." The event will transform the labyrinthine Winchester Mystery House into a Halloween event with three haunted houses and entertainment. The key is the immersive storyline, which sets the event in 1924 and utilizes the mansion's backdrop and history, showing that smaller venues can out-maneuver giant budgets by weaponizing authenticity and location. Philip and Scott unpack what these parallel strategies signal about Halloween's next arms race—premium previews, IP one-upmanship, and how regional haunts can lean into their unique assets instead of chasing billion-dollar licenses. In ADD News, we discussed the Big Bear Eaglet's first flight, beef tallow sunscreen, the Jonathan Joss shooting, the attack in Boulder Colorado, Tinder's new height-match feature, Marc Maron's WTF Podcast coming to an end, Five Nights at Freddy's coming to Universal Studios Horror Nights, and a teacher getting students drunk on Baja Blasts.
Universal has shocked us all by releasing an announcement on a Sunday evening. Five Nights at Freddy's will be making it's way to Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando for HHN 34 and Hollywood for HHN 2025. However, this wasn't your traditional house announcement and it looks like Blumhouse may have leaked this prematurely. Prior to this, HHN was posting cryptic static teasers likely leading up to announcement this week. Hello one and all and welcome back to another episode of Surviving the Horror! Every once in a while a horror game franchise comes around and captures the zeitgeist of the time, causing streamers, content creators and the like to all get involved in examining it. In 2014, one such game came in to being. Following in the footsteps of indie horror darlings like Slender, Scott Cawthon's Five Nights at Freddy's released in August of 2014 and quickly became a cult hit. With ports in the same year for IOS and Android, Five Night's or FNAF, captured the imaginations and hearts of many a content creator and horror enthusiast. Blending together tight but simplistic gameplay, a rich dosing of lore, and terrifying animatronics, FNAF was the full package. Now, over ten years since it's initial creation, the FNAF franchise boasts over 12 games, a movie, several books and countless hours of YouTube content dedicated to its lore. FNAF is one of those franchises that seemingly keeps giving, and garnering a community of people who love it. Having never played any of these games before, it seemed only right that at some point we (Josh and Colin) had to get to FNAF. The lore for these games is tricky though, with a story spanning several decades and told non-chronologically through the games. We figured we'd need a little help to really parse through some of this stuff in our freshman outing. For this reason, we brought on special guest Kade, AKA TheGreenGorillaGamer. Kade is a long time fan of FNAF, being first introduced to the series as a kid. His breakdowns of lore, mechanics, and overall themes helped immensely as we tried to navigate our first five (really seven) nights at Freddy Fazebear's Pizza as a security guard. Can we make it through all seven nights? Is our battery management good enough to not be constantly on edge? Only time will tell. Come along with us though as we explore the topic of FNAF in what will undoubtedly be the first of several later episodes to come on the franchise. Thank you for listening, and enjoy!

We also run away to the big top with Guillermo del Toro's noir thriller Nightmare Alley, and finish with the technicolour brain-melt that is The Amazing Digital Circus.
In this episode, we talk to DaRegularSauce, a well known Five Nights at Freddy's cosplayer and fabricator for Steel Wool Studios.
In this week's insert tape 2 bonus episode of No More Late Fees, chaos, commitment, and Matthew Lillard's eclectic filmography take center stage as returning guest Amber joins the fun. The gang dives headfirst into the Lillard-verse, ranking his top-grossing movies from memory—spoiler alert: nobody gets it right. From the unexpected box office dominance of Five Nights at Freddy's to debating which Lillard flick would be better if the entire cast (except him) was replaced by Muppets, the episode is equal parts trivia and delightful absurdity. Oh, and there's also the tale of Amber's dog, who discovered that toads don't make great snacks.Of course, no episode would be complete without some passionate Matthew Lillard appreciation and a game of guessing which of his movies made bank. Plus, Amber shares her employee picks, leading to a hilarious discussion about the perils of watching Jaws while floating in a lake at night—complete with divers pretending to be sharks. Whether you're here for the Lillard love, the movie mishaps, or just to see how far Muppet mania can go, this episode serves up laughs with a side of nostalgia and pure, unfiltered chaos.—No More Late Fees https://nomorelatefeespodcast.com909-601-NMLF (6653)—Follow Us on Social:Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/nomorelatefees TikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@nomorelatefees Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/nomorelatefeesYoutubehttps://www.youtube.com/@nomorelatefees Twitterhttps://x.com/NoMoreLateFees —CONQUERingmyconquering.com10% Off Code: JACKIE10—NostaBeautyhttps://nostabeauty.com 20% Off Code: NMLF—AmberPrevious EpisodesSpace Jamhttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/space-jam The Hot Chickhttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/the-hot-chick Body Swapping Movies with Amberhttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/body-swapping-movies-with-amber Sawhttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/sawPlot Twists & Chillshttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/plot-twists-chills-ranking-movies-with-mind-blowing-endings
