Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes.Supergirl, the DCU's second film, hit theaters last weekend and its likelihood to turn a profit is already an uphill battle. The film, which stars Milly Alcock in the title role, and was directed by Craig Gillespie, of I, Tonya fame, raked in a cumulative $68 million at the worldwide box office. With a reported budget of $170–186 million, the film needs to earn upward of $300 million just to break even. Compounding those figures, the movie currently holds a 54% average on Rotten Tomatoes and a B- Cinemascore with audiences.  The 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival took place last week and with it came announcements for a bevy of animated films and series.  DC and Warner Bros Animation particularly stood out for a number of upcoming Batman projects. The first is a series adaptation of Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta's best-selling comic series, Absolute Batman, which Warner Bros Animation is partnering with DC Studios to develop.
