This marks Powell's first big box office miss, when compared to openings for Twisters, Top Gun: Maverick, and Anybody But You, but the action film did have to compete against Predator: Badlands, which is holding strong at the box office still.Nintendo and Illumination have released the first trailer for Super Mario Galaxy, the follow up to 2023's hit The Super Mario Brothers Movie. We look at some old faces in new places on this week's Moviecast. Stranger Thing's Sadie Sink is going to be in Avengers: Secret Wars. Brie Larson is cast as Rosalina in the Super Mario Galaxy movie. My Hero Academia's creator is heavily involved in the Netflix adaptation. WB is going to be sold to somebody, but maybe not the Saudis. Labubus are coming to the big screen via Sony. Palace Intrigue delivers explosive royal warfare as Meghan Markle deliberately sabotages Prince William's Rio Earthshot triumph by announcing her return to acting in Amazon MGM comedy Close Personal Friends. The Duchess appears as herself alongside Brie Larson and Lily Collins, with sources declaring "this is a massive moment for Meghan"—timed precisely to steal headlines from William's globally-televised ceremony with Kylie Minogue and Shawn Mendes. Alexander Larman exposes the calculated attack: "Although Harry claims Buckingham Palace was informed of his movements, it feels like a deliberate attempt to draw attention in his own direction." The Sussex moves continue undermining William's "tightly choreographed" reset after Andrew's disgrace.Meanwhile, explosive revelations expose Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor being offered a lavish 6-bedroom Abu Dhabi waterfront palace by UAE president—his longtime Gordonstoun school friend. The Sea Palace compound villa includes home cinema, indoor pool, gym, and gold-detailed fixtures, offering the disgraced royal a golden Middle Eastern exile. Plus, Kate takes leading Armistice Day role, while Max Hastings demands royal reform declaring Andrew the "rottenest apple."Hear our new show "Crown and Controversy: Prince Andrew" here.Check out "Palace Intrigue Presents: King WIlliam" here.
Oscar-winning actress, Brie Larson, and her best friend, chef and dinner party guru Courtney McBroom, drop by to talk about their new cookbook Party People — a love letter to low-stakes, high-fun get togethers. The duo swap stories about their shared obsession with hosting (and, unexpectedly, Taco Bell!), and how Brie's mom, an over-the-top party planner, sparked her lifelong love of bringing people together. They also reminisce about working side by side on Lessons in Chemistry, where Courtney was head food consultant and Brie learned to see cooking in a whole new light. Plus, they share not one but two family recipes: Courtney's grandma's famous Texas sheet cake and a pistachio pie that almost didn't make the cut.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
'Lessons in Chemistry' is a multi-million copy bestselling novel, it's in over 40 countries and has won far too many awards to list here. Such is its success it has been made into a series on Apple Plus, starring Brie Larson. My aunt sent it to me to cheer me up after I had open heart surgery this Summer. It was one of the best presents I have ever been given and it transformed my recovery. I was devastated when I finished it. I contacted author Bonnie Garmus to tell her how wonderful her book was and she very kindly agreed to let me interview her. In the episode, Bonnie discusses her journey, inspirations, how she came up with her characters, the struggles of being a writer, tackling sexism & how to use anger constructively. Funny, smart, self-deprecating, full of wisdom, insight and humour, talking to Bonnie was as joyous and compelling as reading her brilliant novel. Bonnie's Website Buy 'Lessons in Chemistry'

An episode that didn't just think outside the box—it questioned why there's a box in the first place! In Episode 143 of The Autistic Culture Podcast, Dr Angela Kingdon continues our journey through the 10 Pillars of Autistic Culture as we move onto Pillar 6 — Game Changing Innovation. Autistic innovation isn't about trends or flash. It's about paradigm shifts. It's about seeing what no one else is looking for, hyperfocusing on what matters, and rebuilding the world, system by system.Dr Angela looks deep into the game-changing transformations developed by Autistic game changers, such as Sir Isaac Newton, who invented Calculus, Sir Richard Branson's out-of-the-box business models, and Angela's father's innovations in creating build-your-own Hot Rod kit cars. Here's what defines this core Autistic trait:* Autistic people challenge assumptions, not to be difficult, but because we can see the assumptions in the first place.* Neurodivergent people innovate through sensory truth, emotional intensity, and process precision.* Autistic people don't disrupt the status quo to seek attention. We disrupt because the system doesn't make sense, and we can't unsee that.* Game changers in autistic culture often challenge capitalist efficiency with a call for meaning, integrity, and alignment.* Many autistic innovators aren't seen as leaders until the world catches up to their vision.* Historical and modern change agents in autistic culture often operate without blueprints, forging their own.Key Concepts:* Game-changing is not about chasing disruption for its own sake. It's about building entirely new paradigms based on noticing what others overlook.* Autistic game changers are pattern-breakers and system rewriters — not trend-followers.* Our deep focus and drive for autonomy let us find wholly new approaches to enduring problems.* Emotional intensity and sensory insights fuel world-building innovation.* It's often misunderstood or resisted because the new paradigm doesn't fit existing frameworks.

Sarah and Vinnie are LIVE from Cache Creek Casino! The gang started their weekend early with a delicious dinner last night. Sarah teases big Alice news that Vinnie already forgets. We have a new pope - and he's from Chicago. Brie Larson wrote a cookbook, but more importantly she's from Sacramento! Isn't it crazy how two people can be in the same room, having the same conversation, and hear completely different things? Americans do the darndest things... like discussing the weather. Plus, a study finds that teenagers are safer drivers in new cars - maybe they can pay for them.
LIVE from Cache Creek Casino it's Sarah and Vinnie! There's nothing like a great dinner and a hotel night's sleep. There's a new pope in the Vatican, and he's probably eaten a few Chicago dogs before the papacy. Brie Larson wrote a cookbook, the future is unknown for The Kelly Clarkson Show, and Lorde is going on tour! Justin Bieber skipped out on the Met Gala because he's in Iceland recording a new album. Plus, Cache Creek is hosting an open casting call for Survivor this summer, and you better not forget your mom this Sunday.
What an episode!!! In Arthur's Corner, he discusses fudge, chocolate chip cookies and 12 Angry Men. We also discuss the neurodivergent line that seems to run through our family. Then we settle down and begin to discuss this week's subject, Victoria California Woodhull. This woman, born to a devout spiritualist and a con man that got them ran out of their Homer Ohio home. She's married to a 'doctor' at 15 and works travelling medicine shows and spiritualist spectacles which eventually leads her to meet Cornelius Vanderbilt. She becomes a powerful figure, who believes in women's suffrage, the Free Love Movement (which in the 1860's is very different from the similarly named movement of the 1960's). She starts a newspaper and so much more in this about to be a movie starring Brie Larson episode of the Family Plot Podcast!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/family-plot--4670465/support.
