This is the first part of our Renewal series where we are talking about how communal renewal always starts with personal renewal. We talk about how as we are renewed by Jesus grace it leads to good works. We are naturally motivated by guilt and fear leading to apathy and aggression and need Jesus grace to help us do good to all and share the good news of Jesus to a nation polarized. As we experience the renewal of Jesus through his grace we can provide hope to a nation that is longing for good news!
Jesus presence gives us hope through various metaphors. We have His presence now but we long for his physical presence where all things will be made new through him and his physical presence with us. Jesus presence gives us hope as we anticipate the wedding celebration, he gives hope to all who are thirsty and how his presence through his face of delight brings healing. We have the already of his Spirits presence but we long for the not yet of his physical presence with us.
