I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 6th of January, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in Romans 1:17:“The just (or righteous) shall live by faith.” Then we go to the Book of Habakuk 2:4:”But the just shall live by his faith.” Then we go to Galatians 3:11, says the same thing. I think the Lord is trying to tell us something today. Now, as we start the new year, I want to encourage you to ask the Lord to give you a scripture that you can hang onto for the whole year. The Lord has given me this very scripture for this year. Yes, and the righteous shall live by faith. You see, my dear friends, we cannot live without it. In fact, we cannot exist without faith in God, not faith in faith but faith in God. So as we start the new year, we're into our sixth day, I want to encourage you to discipline yourself and start to live by faith and not by chance or by hoping for the best.Us farmers have a saying. In the Afrikaans language, it is, ”Die Boer maak 'n plan.' (The farmer makes a plan). Well, I tried for many, many years to make my own plans when I was farming and they never worked. When I started to trust in the Lord, then my plans began to fall into place, but I can hear one young farmer asking me a question, ”How do you get that faith?” The answer is found in the Book of Romans 10:17: ”So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” So if you want more faith, you need to spend more time reading your Bible and that will encourage you to walk by faith.I want to tell you a little story. In 1993, I came back from Scotland. I had been preaching over there and on my way back I felt the Lord tell me, by faith, to write my story. Now I have a limited education. I had never had any experience in writing before, and we wrote a little book called ”Faith like potatoes.” Folks, that book is now in 17 languages. A movie has been made of that book, which is still being shown all over the world. It is a miracle. It is not possible for me to do something like that, but by faith, I stepped out the boat and I trusted the Lord. This year together, let us start to walk by faith and expect great things from the Lord. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.
Every new year we make goals, resolutions, and have the dream of “new year, new you”. By January 2, we fail. In this message, you will get a script for developing a plan to LIVE BY FAITH in 2026. Others will see your faith, and be inspired to live by faith also! Fan the Flame of faith this new year!

* You can get the sermon note sheet at: https://family-bible-church.org/2025Messages/25Dec21.pdf * Over the past two weeks we have seen how all of the doctrine, which the author of Hebrews shared in the first nine chapters, comes together to present the greatness of Jesus' sacrificial death on behalf of the whole world! Truly, God loved the world and gave His only begotten Son to be the propitiation for the sins of the whole world! * As the author is addressing this consummation of the redemptive plan to a Jewish audience in the 1st century, we see a distinctively Jewish emphasis (or reference to the Old Testament). * It is important to also note that there were "Judaizers" entering into the gatherings of the church to draw people back under the law! These individuals were false teachers and leading people into blaspheme. In our text today, we see the author overtly addressing this battle. * Our text today is actually an extension from last week's passage in which Jewish believers were given the phenomenal understanding that they could openly enter into the Holies where God resided with confidence. This privilege was afforded by the blood sacrifice of Jesus. * Today, we see the other side of this privilege - the warning - to not treat this privilege haphazardly, but to make sure that they were living by faith. * This message was presented by Bob Corbin on December 21, 2025 at Family Bible Church in Martinez, Georgia.
“I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”Galatians 2:20 AMPChttps://bible.com/bible/8/gal.2.20.AMPC
The Bible says that you can only be saved by faith in Jesus Christ. After that, we are to live by faith and trust God in our everyday lives. Grab your Bible, turn to Romans 1, and follow along with Pastor Mike.

In Part 2 of his series on Habakkuk, Rabbi Schiller looks at how Habakkuk waits on the LORD, and how we must do so, with patience, with seeing God's perspective, with obedience, with putting the LORD at the center, and with joy.
Timeless Truths: We naturally do not want to put faith into what the Word of God says. One example of that is when Scripture tells us to “give thanks in all circumstances.” Certainly every believer has struggled with some situation that has challenged their belief in that declaration. We have to learn to live not by what our emotions dictate, but by putting faith in the commands and the promises of Scripture. When we exercise faith, the One who has written those promises will give us the power to obey His commands. And let's not forget, if you're listening to this podcast because you struggle with sexual sin, you especially need to learn that lesson. No matter how strongly you feel temptation, you can exercise faith and experience victory through the power of His Spirit!
In Habakkuk 2:2-20 we see that living by faith means taking God at His word and viewing your present circumstances through the lens of His promises.
In this episode of Pray the Word on Galatians 3:9, David Platt asks God to help us to live by faith and to experience blessing as we do.Explore more content from Radical.

Christ is King, and it is our joyful duty to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). In an age of compromise, we seek to hold the line with biblical teaching and fellowship. Families worship together, our elders teach the Word, and everyone sings loud. https://restorationhcn.org/ We are currently meeting at Paper Moon Vineyards (2008 State Road Vermilion, OH) on Sundays at 10:30am.

Following the example of Jesus and others in Scripture, we can be honest about what life may have in store and then turn our hearts to God as our source of peace and power. As we learn to trust in Him, we will begin to experience His presence and allow Him to grow our faith.

The idea of faith can be ambiguous. What is faith?
It was your faith that brought you into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Faith was your response to the grace of God. The Bible says we are saved by our faith in Jesus. Yet, God is not just asking us for faith that leads to salvation. He's asking for daily faith.Main Points:1. Everyday, you and I live by faith. Every day we must trust God. We trust him for our spiritual growth. We place our faith in him to lead and guide our steps and our future. We live by faith as we put our families, their health, and safety in His hands. 2. Our knowledge is limited. We don't know what a day will bring. We certainly don't know what tomorrow holds for us. So, we live by faith. Daily, we choose to trust our lives to the hands of God. 3. I know sometimes I'm like Peter. I take my eyes off of Jesus and I begin to look at the wind and the waves. I've noticed that what I focus on gets bigger in my life. If I focus on life's circumstances and the uncertainties of tomorrow, they get larger in my mind. But if I intentionally focus on Jesus, He is magnified. Today's Scripture Verses:Matthew 14:29 - “Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.”Matthew 14:30-31 - “But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”Galatians 2:20 - “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group
Romans 1:16-17 — What is the theme of the gospel? How might a believer summarize its content? In this sermon “The Just shall Live by Faith” from Romans 1:16-17, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones draws attention to the gospel's content. The heart of the gospel is that the righteousness of the Son, Christ Jesus, is given to Christians by faith. Faith in this regard is the whole faith position, not just an instrument by which we become righteous. What is faith? It is a big term that embraces a number of ideas, including the ideas of belief and intellectual assent. But faith is not limited to the life of the mind. It also includes an active living, a participation in living in obedience to God. The mind, heart, and will are involved in such a way that by the Spirit, the believer is moved into a life lived by faith that involves each of these capacities. Dr. Lloyd-Jones urges the listener to examine themselves to consider if the mind and the body are working together to live by faith.
The faith that justifies and the faith that sanctifies are not two different kinds of faith.
