Abiding is what our life is all about as believers in Jesus Christ. If we remain in Him and His word remains in us, it is inevitable that we will bear His fruit. The main focus of the devil is to get us to loosen our hold on the Lord, but if we take hold of the Word of Life, the Life in the Word will take hold of us. Let this teaching from John chapter 15 bless and empower you.
Get Connected, Stay Connected John 15:7-14 NKJV 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so, you will be My disciples. 9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. 11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. Jesus Is The Source The Purpose Of Every Branch -Bear Fruit Levels Of Bearing Fruit: 1) No Fruit 2) More Fruit 3) Much Fruit God Expects Us To Grow And Produce Spiritual Fruit ABIDE Abide: Stay, Dwell, Remain, Continue, Endure, Live Steps To Maintain Connection To Jesus: Listen & Rely On The Holy Spirit Reading & Studying God's Word Develop A Healthy Prayer Life Obey His Commandments John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love.” (Vs. 10) “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends” (Vs. 13) “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” (Vs. 11)
Mark 11:12–14
“The next morning as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. He noticed a fig tree in full leaf a little way off, so he went over to see if he could find any figs. But there were only leaves because it was too early in the season for fruit. Then Jesus said to the tree, ‘May no one ever eat your fruit again!’ And the disciples heard him say it.” (Mark 11:12–14 NLT) Staying in Jerusalem during the Passover celebration was out of the question for Jesus, especially after His hero’s welcome on Palm Sunday. The crowds would have mobbed Him and interfered with the vital work of His final days. So He stayed in Bethany, which was less than two miles from Jerusalem. He likely stayed in the home of His friends, the siblings Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. On the day after His triumphant entry, Jesus returned to Jerusalem. On the way, He saw a fig tree that had leaves on it. Usually, fig leaves indicate that a tree has fruit. Jesus was hungry, so He approached the tree to pick a fig to eat. Instead, He discovered that the tree had no fruit. “May no one ever eat your fruit again!” He said. Jesus cursed the tree because it bore no fruit. This may seem out of character for Jesus, as though He lost His temper because He was fooled by vegetation. But this wasn’t the first-century equivalent of kicking a broken vending machine. Jesus wasn’t “hangry.” He was giving His followers a real-life parable—an unforgettable lesson on the importance of being fruitful. The Old Testament prophets used the fig as a symbol of Israel. Micah 7:1–3 says, “How miserable I am! I feel like the fruit picker after the harvest who can find nothing to eat. Not a cluster of grapes or a single early fig can be found to satisfy my hunger. The godly people have all disappeared; not one honest person is left on the earth” (NLT). The passage is referring to the spiritual condition of God’s people. They give the outward appearance of being holy and obedient, but they produce no fruit—no real evidence of their holiness and obedience. Appearances can be deceiving, but genuine fruit can’t be faked. If a fruit tree doesn’t produce fruit, it’s useless. Likewise, if God’s people don’t produce spiritual fruit, they are useless. In cursing the fig tree, Jesus was denouncing Israel’s relationship with God and warning the people of Israel of the coming judgment. He was also sending a warning to people who claim to be Christians but show no evidence of a personal relationship with Him. In John 15:8, He said, “When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father” (NLT). James was a little more blunt: “Faith is dead without good works” (James 2:26 nlt). And the apostle Paul wrote, “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (Galatians 5:22–23 NLT) Those qualities please the Lord because they show that our faith is genuine and that our spiritual fruit can nourish others. If you nurture those qualities and allow them to blossom in your life, you’ll help others see just how life-changing a relationship with Christ can be. Mark 11 pt4 - All Leaves No Fruit by Ray Jensen
Some people look like they're really religious, but have nothing they produce from it.
I declare that I come out of every deception associated with merely hearing but never actually doing the word of God. With every choice I make about the word of God, I influence the strength of the foundation of my life, for the better or the worse. When the account of my life is finally read, may I be identified as the “wise man who built his house on a rock” because he went beyond hearing and decided to plant the seed of the word in his life. I declare that I will not be like the fig tree that had leaves giving the appearance that it possessed fruit but on closer inspection, There was zilch, There was nothing, There was nada, rien du tout. It had nothing that could actually satisfy the hunger of Jesus, But had carved an appearance indicating otherwise. It was happy pushing a Jesus loving brand But refused to allow the word to sink in to produce any real fruit The fruit inspector went looking for fruit and instead found just leaves. I declare, O'Lord, that you will find fruit in my life , I refuse to settle with leaves. I declare that my fruits will be evident in my home, my relationships, my marriage, my business and my career. So help me Spirit of the Living God. This is Sassy and I pray the release of the kingdom of God into your life. Amen! Anchor Scripture: Matthew 21: 18-22 “Now in the morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry. And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away. And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither away so soon?” So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”” Connect with Pastor Yasmin O'Lugudor: Instagram: [@yasmin_o_lugudor] https://www.instagram.com/yasmin_o_lugudor/ Youtube: [Yasmin O'Lugudor] https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFMhc2-gpHvmDVUVE_bA_QA Email: sassy@yasminolugudor.com Produced By The Christ Creatives: https://www.instagram.com/the_christ_creatives/
Deuteronomy 1: 25 - 36
Pastor Jae talks about the life cycle of fig trees as part of our walk through the gospel of Mark.
If we don't walk in the Spirit of God, we can not produce the fruit of the Spirit. The flesh is only able to produce rotten fruit. We need to walk in the Spirit.
Without the Spirit, There is no Fruit - Sis Donna Nichols teaches Sunday School out of Galatians 5:22-23 on how we will produce fruit but without God it isn't good fruit.

In much of America, spring announces its arrival with an explosion of color. Those yellow forsythia flowers start popping out on bushes, the daffodils start to poke their heads through the ground, and the trees around our headquarters suddenly color the landscape with those delicate white flowers. Now, my wife, who I think was a certified plantologist, told me that those are ornamental pear trees. When I asked her about the "ornamental" part, she pointed out to me that they produce beautiful flowers, but these pear trees don't produce any pears. I guess that's why they're ornamental. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Flowers But No Fruit." You know, God has people in His family who are like those pear trees. They look good, but they don't produce fruit. And fruit is what Jesus is interested in, not just spiritual decorations on the outside. That's pretty obvious in our word for today from the Word of God in Luke 13, beginning with verse 6. "And Jesus told this parable: 'A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?' 'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.'" Now, Jesus is the owner who comes looking for fruit. He is not interested in all our spiritual flowers that impress other people. Oh, it's nice that we can sing His songs, go to His meetings, give to His causes, do some things in His service, and put Him in our busy schedule. But that's obviously not what really matters to Him. He's looking for a life that's producing lasting fruit, not just parading impressive "flowers." So, when Jesus looks at you, does He see a follower who is fruitful or mostly decorative? When Jesus looks at your ministry, your church, does He see the fruit of changed lives or just the flowers of a busy program and some smoothly running religious machine? Jesus wants to know what lives you're touching for Him, what lost people you're introducing to Him, how you're investing the talents He gave you in the work He wants done, whether you're living to make an impression or to make money, or whether you're living to make a difference. Including the ultimate difference you can make in anybody's life - pouring yourself into the lives of lost people around you so you can help some of them be in heaven with you. What if Jesus came to you like it says here in the parable and He said, "I've been coming to look for fruit here for a long time and I haven't found any." I wonder if He would say to you, "One more year. Let's see what you do with these next few months ahead. I'll be back then to see what kind of fruit you have to show for all that I have poured into your life." You can't have any of the fruitless years back. They're gone - they're over. But you can decide today that you're going to make a far greater difference with the rest of your life than you have ever made before!

There's an old story Jesus told about a farmer who spread seed, and the difference between the seed that landed on rocky surfaces and the ones that went into good soil. This week, Charles Tapp reveals what this story means for you today, and for that person in your life who hasn't made the decision to follow Christ. As he shares the third part in his series "Keys to the Kingdom" with his message "No Root, No Fruit."
“Time leaves no fruit on the tree.” This is a lyric from a John Mayer song and a phrase that Johanna Lobo lives by. It reminds her to seize the day and not put off important or enjoyable things so she takes the advice to heart daily. Another practice is paying attention to self-talk. Are you harder on yourself than you would be to anyone else? If so, stop. Be as good to yourself as you would be to someone you loved, which should include you.If you believe you are capable then by all means step out, and take a risk. It will take courage Johanna explains as the two are woven together in ways hard to describe. If you are courageous, you will be more confident. If you are confident, you will be more courageous. These two characteristics, truly are something we can all have. You just plain have to feel it inside, and allow yourself the time to get better at it. "All Leaves, No Fruit" Pastor Rex Durham November 26, 2023
In today's sermon, we continue our study in the book of Mark and look at Mark 11: 12-20. In this passage, we see two scenarios—one, of Jesus cursing the fig tree, and two, of Jesus throwing the money changers from the temple. These two are connected in an important way. We notice Jesus's judgment of the fig tree as a prefigured judgment of the temple. Then, we see Jesus's judgment of fraudulent religion in the temple as He expresses His holy wrath and rage against this great ungodliness of thievery and hypocrisy. In these accounts, we see that having the foliage of religion is not necessarily indicative of the fruit of a true relationship with God. We must ask ourselves—does Jesus need to clear some things out of the temple of your heart? Are there fraudulent attitudes or actions that hinder the purity of your worship? ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_bd9a022d52584516b28621b25ed5ef03.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_5c4c63ffd5f646a5ac5ece39c7189b50.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: 1:43 Review 3:06 Mark 11: 12-20 6:07 The Fruitless Fig Tree and the Fraudulent Temple 44:02 Application Questions ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

When Jesus encountered a fig tree with leaves but no fruit, it was symbolic of the scene he was about to enter in the temple. Pastor Tucker explains the importance of the story and what we can learn from it today.
Jesus leaves Jerusalem after the palm procession, and we read about a rather odd account with a fig tree. This story leads us to ask, are we bearing any fruit? Or are we just leaves?
