"One deeply connected conversation can change the trajectory of a life and the world forever." — Terri Lonowski Most frameworks for communication tell you to speak more clearly, ask better questions, or manage your body language. Terri Lonowski's Soulful Listening does something different — it starts with how you listen, not how you talk. And after 14 years of developing, testing, and teaching it, the results she can point to are hard to dismiss. Terri traces the framework back to her grandmother Helga, who had a rare quality — a quiet, solid presence that made everyone around her feel completely seen. Growing up above a chaotic family restaurant, with a high school guidance counselor who told her she'd never leave her small Nebraska town, that presence was a lifeline. It became a model. After coaching human-centered design teams whose work was presented at the White House, and after months of sequestering herself to understand what made deep connection work, Terri arrived at five elements: self-care, full presence, quantum listening, inspired action, and circling back. The framework is grounded in neuroscience as much as intuition. Gallup's most recent global engagement data shows 80% of employees feel disengaged at work — a $10 trillion annual problem that Terri argues traces directly to the breakdown of genuine listening. What happens in the body when you don't feel heard isn't just emotional. It's physiological. Her TEDx talk, "Nobody's Listening and It's Killing Us," names the stakes directly. The most vivid proof point is her son Jacob — raised inside the culture of Soulful Listening as a single mother, who at fifteen stood in a cornfield and articulated a vision. Terri listened. She took inspired action. Before the end of his junior year, he had earned a full scholarship to Georgia Tech as an offensive lineman. He is now a doctor of physical therapy working exclusively with Navy SEALs. Terri closes with three concrete steps anyone can begin this week — no prior training required. Expert Action Steps: Take a breath and listen. Before entering any conversation, take a few intentional breaths — in through the nose, out through the mouth — to arrive present rather than distracted. Get quiet and listen to yourself. There is a wisdom within you that can guide you toward your next step and your highest path. Give it silence to speak. Be there for others. Show up fully for the people in your life. Human connection isn't a luxury — it is foundational to who we are and how we thrive. As Europe tallies thousands of deaths, there are calls for way more AC. In North America, where a heat dome is disrupting holidays, air conditioning is common — but it can also contribute to inequity and emissions. As a Chief Heat Ambassador, Jane Gilbert is grappling with this paradox. She shares ways to protect lives as climate change heats our world.
In the next 15 years an additional 400 pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists will be killed on European roads because of the increased average car size. The figure is based on projections using data from Eurostat and the UK department of transport. Research by the Transport & Environment (T & E) think tank suggests that those road death figures could be significantly higher. After 25 years of relentless growth, our roads are increasingly dominated by huge SUVs that pose a physical danger to everyone else. And bigger cars means less space on the roads and in car parks. Big vehicles, such as SUVs and pick-up strucks, simply don't fit parking spaces that were designed for a different, smaller car, age.So why are SUVs so deadly for other road users? And why, even when they are made aware of the dangers their large vehicles pose for other road users, do drivers still choose them anyway?Irish Times motoring contributor Neil Briscoe reports.Presented by Bernice Harrison. Ken Carman and Anthony Lima dig into the Guardians' offensive struggles after a 10-hit loss, debating whether Steven Kwan or David Fry deserves more of the blame. They credit Kwan for elite defense and a willingness to draw walks despite a brutal bat speed decline, while questioning why Fry still has a roster spot over younger options like Cooper Ingle. The pair also revisit their past stance that the Guardians should have paid Kwan big money, conceding that Owen and Zack Meisel were right to push back. They close by wondering if the lineup can hold up in another playoff push once Jose Ramirez and Angel Martinez return from injury.
If we're doing everything to optimize and track our health, then why do so many of us feel so bad? Today I'm talking about why optimization culture is harming us, my personal experience with it, and most importantly, I'm sharing the single thing that we should be doing instead (which I have not heard be part of the discussion at all).

The sun is our friend - it elevates our moods and provides all the Vitamin D we need. But more than 20 minutes of sun exposure a day during high UV index days will age the skin prematurely. It causes immunosuppression, wrinkles, brown splotches, and rough old skin. More importantly, skin cancers are much more common in people with excessive sun exposure. On this show, we talk about the benefits of sun exposure...and the problems UV light causes. We describe how the SPF number is obtained, everything you want to know about sunscreen.

What happened to Grace Schara—and what can families learn from her story? In this powerful and emotional conversation, Mark and Amber Archer sit down with Scott Schara, father of Grace Schara, a 19-year-old young woman with Down syndrome whose death during a hospital stay launched Scott into years of research, advocacy, and public education. Scott shares his family's journey, the legal battle that followed, his concerns about the modern healthcare system, and practical steps families can take to advocate for loved ones in medical settings. The discussion also explores the concepts of the Hegelian Dialectic, the Banality of Evil, personal responsibility, discernment, and why Christians must evaluate every system through the lens of Scripture. Whether you agree with every conclusion or not, this conversation challenges listeners to think critically, ask questions, and prepare their families to navigate difficult medical decisions with wisdom and conviction. Develop a Relationship with an Independent Medical Professional - Find a doctor who does not rely on Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement systems. - Seek objective medical opinions whenever possible. 2. Take Personal Responsibility for Research - Don't rely solely on medical professionals. - Read, study, and understand diagnoses and treatment options yourself. 3. Have a Durable General Medical Power of Attorney - Designate someone you trust to make medical decisions if you cannot. - Ensure that person understands your wishes. 4. Create Written Medical Directives - Clearly state treatments, medications, procedures, or interventions you do or do not consent to. - Review and update regularly. 5. Understand Hospital Consent Forms - Read everything before signing. - Ask questions regarding consent, treatments, biologics, vaccinations, and procedures. 6. Avoid Passive Participation - Ask why a treatment is recommended. - Request alternatives and supporting evidence. 7. Never Assume the Hospital Is Automatically Acting in Your Best Interest - Maintain awareness. - Verify information. - Ask questions respectfully but confidently. 8. Always Have a Dedicated Advocate Present - Have a trusted family member present whenever possible. - Ensure they know your wishes and can communicate them clearly. 9. Establish Leadership in Medical Interactions - View medical professionals as service providers rather than unquestionable authorities. - Be proactive rather than reactive. 10. Don't Leave Vulnerable Family Members Alone - Especially children, elderly parents, or disabled family members. - Maintain a continuous advocate presence whenever feasible. 11. Ground Decisions in Faith Rather Than Fear - Scott emphasizes that freedom from fear begins with confidence in Christ and eternal hope.

We spend hours a day staring at screens… but what if it’s doing way more damage than we realize? In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Eugene Lipov — a physician and PTSD specialist who’s worked with military veterans, special forces operators, and trauma patients for decades — to talk about what phones, social media, doomscrolling, and constant digital stimulation are actually doing to our brains. And honestly? This conversation hit home. We talk about: Why screen addiction behaves like any other addiction How social media is affecting sleep, anxiety, inflammation, and mental health Why people feel constantly overwhelmed and unable to focus The connection between technology and PTSD-like symptoms Why kids having unlimited access to phones should terrify parents The “brain rot” phenomenon and shrinking attention spans How stepping away from screens can dramatically change your physical and mental health Dr. Lipov also explains his push to change the term PTSD to PTSI (“post-traumatic stress injury”) to remove stigma and help more people seek treatment. We also get into psychedelics, ibogaine, psilocybin, trauma recovery, and some of the cutting-edge treatments being explored right now. Send us Fan MailIf the words “standard of care” sound like safety, this conversation asks you to listen closer to what those standards can demand and what they can quietly forbid. We sit down with Scott Shara to continue a frank, faith-forward talk about his book Is The Government Legally Killing Us, and why he believes the modern medical system can operate like a machine that rewards compliance more than healing. Along the way, we confront a question that hits every family sooner or later: who holds the real power in healthcare, the patient, the doctor, or the policies behind the curtain? We trace the ideas Schara connects to a broader culture shift: collectivism, medical education pipelines, and a country dependent on pharmaceuticals. Then we move into the legal and financial structures he says shape outcomes, including the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, Medicare and Medicaid incentives, and his reading of Obamacare Section 1553. We also slow down on “informed consent” and the AMA Code of Medical Ethics, especially how phrases like “recommended treatments” and “medically appropriate options” can limit what patients ever hear, even when the language sounds ethical and compassionate. Finally, we talk solutions in plain terms, not silver bullets: fear, courage, and responsibility. Shara frames Revelation 13 as a way to understand both the physical pressure to comply and the spiritual call to repent of turning our birthright over to the state. If you care about medical freedom, patient rights, Christian ethics in medicine, and how incentives can distort healthcare, this one will challenge you. Plus, we introduce HAQ, an innovative app designed to help people stay safe during extreme heat.
Send us Fan MailA discounted heart scan for $80 turns into a moment of clarity: medicine isn't only shaped by what's true, but also by what gets rewarded. We sit down with Scott Schara, returning guest and father of Grace, to talk about his book “Is the Government Legally Killing Us?” and the case he makes that modern healthcare incentives can be engineered through law, regulation, and reimbursement so thoroughly that accountability disappears when patients are harmed. We walk through the story behind the book, including why Scott frames the title as a question, what he says he found across 4,000 hours of research, and why Grace's death in the ICU during COVID became both a personal breaking point and a public mission. Along the way, we talk candidly about “programming” in medical training, the fear-driven narratives many of us lived through, and why so many good people stayed quiet even when something felt off. Scott also explains why he added chapters about Grace after the manuscript was “done,” and how emotion and evidence belong together if you want to reach family and friends who are not awake yet.We also dig into the deeper structure: Jacobson v Massachusetts, the Flexner Report, the rise of the medical-industrial complex, and the claim that CMS reimbursement policies and healthcare metrics quietly set the real standard of care. If you care about medical freedom, informed consent, patient autonomy, or how hospital payment systems influence clinical decisions, you'll find plenty here to wrestle with. Ayaan Hirsi Ali sits down with Bridget for an in-depth conversation about if and how the West can save itself. They discuss why the Constitution isn't a suicide pact and shouldn't be weaponized against us by those who seek our destruction, how our core values of tolerance and freedom are being exploited by adversaries who don't share those values, the post-9/11 failure of Western elites to understand Islamic ideology and jihadist motivation, and the binary choice America faces with Iran's regime — destroy them or they destroy us. They also cover why Europe may be past the point of no return, why white liberal feminists stay silent on Iran's women while obsessing over Palestine, how the rise of antisemitism is a big red flag about the health of a civilization, how Christian morality provides the operating system Western civilization runs on, the rising generation of young Christians and patriots building rather than destroying, and why she's more optimistic now than she's been in years.Follow Ayaan's work at the AHA Foundation - https://www.theahafoundation.org/#SavingTheWest #AyaanHirsiAli #WesternCivilization

Grace's dad's new book, Is The Government Legally Killing Us?, has held the #1 spot on Amazon for two weeks since its March 10 release. Today, Crash interviews Scott about the book and the urgent concerns it raises. Their conversation dives into how government policies shape what doctors and hospitals are permitted or encouraged to do, whether patients truly receive informed consent, and if families fully understand their rights and options during critical medical decisions. They also examine why financial incentives can influence life-and-death care and what ordinary people can do to advocate effectively for a loved one in a medical crisis. These difficult but important questions are explored in depth throughout the book. Fully & Completely: Redux"In Between Evolution"Hosts: jD & Greg LeGros | Guest: Toronto Mike | Fully & Completely: ReduxThe EpisodeThere are records you fall into immediately - and then there are the ones that sneak up on you. "In Between Evolution" is absolutely the second kind. The Tragically Hip's 2004 record is one of their most slept-on, most politically charged, and - depending on who you ask - one of their very best. jD and Greg LeGros dig in track by track, joined by Toronto's favourite podcast man, Toronto Mike. It's feisty. It's got punk energy. And for a record that got passed over in 2004, it holds up like an absolute bruiser. So there's that.Guest SpotlightToronto Mike from Toronto, OntarioToronto Mike is the podcaster and blogger behind torontomic.com and Toronto Miked - a fiercely independent Toronto-centric podcast that's been going longer than most people can remember. He's a passionate Hip fan who - full disclosure - once had serious plans to launch his own Tragically Hip album-by-album podcast series. He abandoned those plans specifically because jD and Greg were doing it too well. That's not spin. That's what he said on mic."I went into the podcast kind of tiny bit hoping it would suck."- Toronto Mike, on hearing Fully & Completely for the first timeWhat's In This OneA full track-by-track of "In Between Evolution" plus the cultural context of June 2004 - which, as it turns out, is a lot. Here's some of what you're getting into:Why this is probably The Tragically Hip's most overtly political record - and why it had no choice but to be (they recorded it in Seattle, surrounded by American media, one year after the U.S. went into Iraq)'Heaven Is a Better Place Today' - a tribute to Dan Snyder built on funeral clichés and sports colloquialisms that somehow makes you cry. Every time.'Summer's Killing Us' - the song Greg would play for anyone who's never heard of this band. Not even officially released as a single. Absolutely should have been.'Gus the Polar Bear from Central Park' - a slow burn. Toronto Mike did not like it at first. He's come around. We dig into why.'Vaccination Scar' - the actual lead single, and a song that gets a bit more complicated the more you think about it'It Can't Be Nashville Every Night' - the one with the la-la-oos in the chorus that should not work, and absolutely does. Possibly a Toby Keith thing. Possibly a Dixie Chicks thing. Definitely a great song.'One Night in Copenhagen' - band turmoil, Gord's solo career pulling on the seams, and that one line about a payphone in the snow that Greg still talks about'Goodnight Josephine' - the closer that sounds like late-period Springsteen and contains some of the most beautiful lyrics Gord ever put down on tapeThe Stanley Cup Final, the Grey Cup halftime show (yes, The Hip played it), a commemorative Tragically Hip CD, and how the 2004 Leafs playoff run ended a sketch troupe's road trip to LAThe Cultural Climate: June 2004Greg always brings the goods on context, and June 2004 is a rich one. "In Between Evolution" landed in the middle of a musical year that included American Idiot, College Dropout, Funeral, Hot Fuss, and Songs for the Deaf. Commercially, the charts were a very different story - Usher, Evanescence, Josh Groban, and a lot of stuff these three would rather forget. It's a great time to be a music fan if you knew where to look. This was a record that knew exactly where it was looking.Pocket SongsAt the end of every record, we each pull one track to carry forward to the playlist.jD: 'Goodnight Josephine'Greg: 'It Can't Be Nashville Every Night'Toronto Mike: 'Are We Family'Why This Record MattersBecause it got slept on. Even in the band's own documentary, this one gets two seconds. And that's bananas - because it is a deep, huge favourite, and it is one of their very best. It's a hard rocker. It's a protest record. It's a record about loss, and change, and what happens when the things you love don't get to stay the same. It's the most guitar-forward record they ever made, and it has the audacity to rhyme its chorus with la-la-oos.Spend time with this album. But, is the government doing it legally? Scott Schara, who went through this very process, wrote a book asking this very question.Episode Links:Learn about Grace Schara's StoryBuy Scott's new book, Is The Government Legally Killing Us?
Scott Schara is a nationally recognized expert commentator on the dangers of incentivized healthcare. He launched a landmark lawsuit, Schara vs. Ascension Health et al, which concluded in June, 2025, after a three-week jury trial which he calls, "a win for the system." Leading up to this he warned about the dangers of incentivized healthcare and where it leads. It was back in January of 2022 that Crosstalk introduced listeners to Scott, who was in sorrow over the loss of his daughter Grace, age 19, who passed away in October of 2021. Scott believes she was a victim of the medical, industrial complex after having been hospitalized during the COVID-19 pandemic. It wasn't long into her hospital stay that, as Scott indicates and hospital testimony was given, that Grace received a deadly combination of drugs. All of this was done under what's called, "standard operating procedures." Review this broadcast as Scott begins by retelling Grace's story, a story that had Scott wondering which road to travel. He chose the road directed by the frontline COVID-19 critical care doctors and that system, as noted, proved to be a deadly one. But why? There's more to this tragic story and what it points to as Scott sheds light on the following: Are we seeing health care rationing in America today? What's really behind the phrase, "Informed consent"? Why does Scott use the term, "incentivized" so often? Does the American legal system provide cover for the medical system? Is medical murder the number one cause of death in America?

Leila Afshari's brother went missing in January when he joined protestors filling the streets of Iran. They were calling for regime change but instead were met with bullets. Thousands were killed and many more arrested. The internet was shut down and Iranian Canadians were left in the dark, not knowing what had happened to their loved ones. This documentary traces their efforts to search for the truth of what is going on in Iran.

In Episode 3 of MAHA Living, Jordan Sather and Nate Prince take a deep dive into the toxic chemicals found in everyday personal care and household products. The conversation focuses on how common hygiene items, such as toothpaste, deodorant, lotions, shampoo, makeup, sunscreen, and fragrances, are absorbed through the skin and directly into the bloodstream, disrupting hormones, the nervous system, and immune function. The hosts walk through published studies detailing the health risks associated with parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, PFAS “forever chemicals,” heavy metals, and synthetic fragrances. They also examine how these substances accumulate in the body, contribute to chronic illness, and pollute the environment through water systems and soil. Beyond identifying the problem, the episode offers practical alternatives, discussing simpler ingredient lists, natural product options, and lifestyle changes that reduce reliance on toxic products. The discussion emphasizes informed label reading, personal responsibility, and the broader environmental and economic consequences of consumer choices.

Plastic is everywhere. Over the past century, we've stuffed our landfills, lined the bottom of the ocean floor, and even managed to get microscopic particles floating through our blood and bodies. Topping things off, the industry is only growing. Plastics simply do not go away, and neither will this problem unless we do something about it. This week, Adam talks about ending plastic pollution with Judith Enck, a former EPA official under President Obama, and the author of the new book The Problem with Plastic: How We Can Save Ourselves and Our Planet Before It's Too Late.
