In this week's message, Pastor Jim Ellis continues his sermon series on church unity, looking into chapters 14-17 of the Gospel of John. He focuses on John 16:16-24, revealing that the true present of Christmas is the presence of Jesus, and in His presence is fullness of joy. #bismarck #church #BismarckCommunityChurch #BCC #JimEllis #Gospel #community #unity #John 16 #JesusPresence #FullnessOfJoySupport the showFind out more about us at BismarckCC.org. For Jesus Followers, Jesus Presence Provides Confidence and Light in Times Which Could Bring Fear and Uncertainty into Your Life MESSAGE SUMMARY: If You are a Jesus Follower, you can live in the presence of Jesus for your life. Living in the presence of Jesus means that you live in personal holiness; therefore, you are living in the light of Jesus. Many times, you are so tempted to walk in the darkness of doom and gloom; and when you go through something difficult in your life, you walk in darkness without the presence of Jesus and His light for your life. The Apostle John, in 1 John 1:5-7, so clearly presents what it means to “walk in the presence and light of Jesus” for those times that bring fear and uncertainty into your life: “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.". One day, the Lord will come in judgment; but for now, you can walk in the light and presence of Jesus through your prayerful personal relationship with Him. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, I have spent much of my life running from pain and loss, medicating my pain, and quickly moving on to the next project — the new urgent demand. I ask for the grace to embrace all of life — the joys and the sorrows, the deaths, and the births, the old and the new. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 110). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will trust in the Lord with all my heart. I will trust in the Lord with all of my heart and lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways I will seek to know Him, and He will make my pathways straight. In this final segment of the teaching series informed by Diana Butler Bass' Freeing Jesus book, we pay special attention on the spiritual presence Jesus promised would come, with a special nod to the Spirit's feminine characteristics.

Pastor Kevin McAnulty speaks about how He (Jesus) Took Away Our Infirmities. He speaks about how Jesus healed the leper, and sent him out. He also speaks about how people were healed from a handkerchief and napkin that Paul prayed over. We must ask, seek, and knock for Jesus’ Presence
So often the idea of "witnessing" makes us nervous, anxious and fearful. We believe the good news that Jesus is always and everywhere present and at work. To witness is simply to see what God is up to in our lives and to speak it, inviting others to recognize the good news of God's presence in our lives.
The One who made us did not give Presents but His Presence. He came to what He formed who would never be able to come into His presence because of their brokenness and Became ‘God with us' the greatest gift for all of humanity the opportunity to be restored to His Presence in their life. He gave it all, His life His love to restore love to all to Himself.
Christian Life Is Unfulfilled Without Jesus’ Presence; Maintain Constant Conversation with Jesus, and He Will Be Involved MESSAGE SUMMARY: To have a Presence of the Lord in your life, you must maintain a constant conversation, through prayer, with Jesus; and you must look to see how God is involved in the events surrounding your daily life. If the Lord is in your life, then your life’s circumstances will relate to Him. The Psalmist tells us, in Psalms 100:2-5, that God is with you because He made you to: “Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to generations.". Therefore, practicing the presence of Jesus in your life helps you to stay in tune with Jesus’ influence in your life. Being in tune with Jesus presence, in your life, is like listening to an FM radio station – you must tune into the right station and then listen. Tuning into the right station, for the presence of Jesus, requires that you maintain an awareness of your circumstances and their relationship to Jesus. TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I press on toward His goal for me. (Philippians 3:12f). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): 2 Corinthians 4:13-15; 2 Corinthians 3:16-18; 1 John 1:5-10; Psalms 104a:1-13. Jesus presence gives us hope through various metaphors. We have His presence now but we long for his physical presence where all things will be made new through him and his physical presence with us. Jesus presence gives us hope as we anticipate the wedding celebration, he gives hope to all who are thirsty and how his presence through his face of delight brings healing. We have the already of his Spirits presence but we long for the not yet of his physical presence with us.

MESSAGE SUMMARY: If You are a follower of Jesus, you can live in the presence of Jesus in your life. The Apostle John, in 1 John 1:5-7, so clearly presents what it means to “walk in the presence and light of Jesus” in those times that bring fear and uncertainty into your life: “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.". 1) Understanding the Purpose of Eucharistic Adoration-The END dictates the HOW: In order to know how to do something, you begin with the Purpose of a given activity...- So what is the purpose of Eucharistic Adoration? If I know the purpose, I will then be in a position to know how to best spend time.-Eucharistic Adoration ought to be understood as an extension of the Eucharistic Presence from Holy Mass.***The Purpose of Eucharistic Adoration: Loving Jesus by acknowledging His Real Presence in spending time with Him in the Eucharist. 2) How to spend time with Jesus in the Eucharist?-Overriding criteria for WHAT TO DO when in Jesus’ Presence in the Eucharist: Whatever we do, acknowledging Jesus who is HERE & NOW, being SENSITIVE to His REAL PRESENCE!-Analogy of husband who takes his wife out to dinner. The Problem? He’s “doing” to the EXCLUSION of “being present”. The Lesson: ***Being Present to your Loved One means being receptive to the Gift of His/Her Presence. Q&A-What’s the role of activities such as reading Scripture, spiritual reading, saying devotionals and other vocal prayers, reciting the Rosary, journaling, etc? If these good, prayerful activities are done in such a way that they help me to be more attentive to Our Eucharistic Lord: they are good and appropriate means. If these activities – at any moment distract me, are a detriment to being receptive to the gift of Jesus’ Real Presence – then I need to re-think what I do and how I spend time before Our Eucharistic Lord. A Practical Look @ how to spend time in Eucharistic Adoration-2 forms of Eucharistic Adoration: 1) Adoring Jesus “hidden” in the tabernacle. 2) Adoring Jesus exposed for us to see (Eucharistic exposition). 3) HOW to be attentive to Jesus’ Presence in the Eucharist3.1) Begin with INPUT: Why? Avoid distraction by allowing your mind to become recollected. What? Vocal prayer works well. St Teresa of Avila often used the "Our Father" to set the tone for prayer time.
