Gossip is self sabotage! There's something called Spontaneous Trait Transference and what it means is this..... when you make negative comments about others, people listening associate those same traits with YOU because the brain is wired to identify you with the comments you make (negative or positive). People logically know you are talking about another person, but the brain forces the listener to perceive YOU as possessing those negative traits you speak of. Is this what you want happening in your marriage? Do you want your spouse to view you the way in which you speak of others? So Mama was right... if you don't have something positive to say, say nothing at all. Join me in this episode to learn how gossip affects your marriage, what to do instead of gossiping, and what to do if your spouse or friends gossip. Hosted on Acast. It's difficult for many people to celebrate the holidays while experiencing joy after the loss of a loved one. It's simply too painful for some people. People say that “time heals all wounds” and that in time you'll learn how to “move on”. I don't think it's a matter of 'moving on' as much as it is learning how to live life in a different way without the person you miss and are separated from. The void left in our hearts can make holidays really difficult.Sofia Fedoryka Cuddeback is joining me today to talk about celebrating holidays with joy after the loss of a loved one. Sofia's mother, Irene, passed away exactly 8 years ago today after a long and traumatic battle with breast cancer. The loss of a loved one is never easy - but to experience such loss on a special holiday, like Christmas Eve, could easily make future Christmases especially difficult. But Sofia and her family have found a way to experience joy on Christmas. She's here to tell us how her family has coped with the loss of their mother, how they continue to experience joy on Christmas, and to bring hope and healing to those who are currently suffering so that you, too, can learn how to love the holidays again. Shame on the other hand is a case where people condemn the entire person and not just the behavior. People use guilt to help change the behavior but condemning someone is basically saying that there is nothing good with that person. That's the difference between guilt and shame. Shame in marriages is an emotional cancer because it sabotages relationships. It allows people to dock responsibilities and such people deflect and deny any accountability for their behaviors in a relationship. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
