We're a bunch of guys who like beans, basketball and the NBA. Come join us as we talk about the NBA world, and any other random topics we can come up with. Enjoy!
I'm uploading this at 8:30pm. There are just 3 hours and 30 minutes until we're out of this lockdown. This episode is 30 minutes long. I'm literally taking out a seventh of the wait time. Listen to this episode. You're welcome. Warriors won. Lakers lost. I'm a happy man. Enjoy.
WE. ARE. BACK. AGAIN. Sorry for the drop off guys. I'll explain what the heck happened and more, as well as giving you guys a recap of the offseason and a look ahead for this season as we prepare for the beginning of yet another season of NBA Basketball.
I've been sad for the past few days. Warriors threw, TSM threw, and after singing my soul out in karaoke, I'm back. I need weekends too, man.
Who (hint: it's the Warriors) is going to win the play-ins tournament? Also, this episode is almost swear-word free.
Well, second day going and I've kept it up. It's the usual guys, run through of the scores, a bit of news, a lot of jokes and the question for today: Who do I think wins it all?
YOU SAW IT IN THE TITLE. IT IS WHAT IT IS. IT SHOULD MAKE SENSE PRETTY EASILY. IT'S A LOT SHORTER. IT'S A LOT LESS FUNNY. IT'S A LOT MORE PRAD. ENJOY.
Hey guys, we're back for another episode of the Official NBA Beancast. We've been away for a bit while Prad was sick and the lads enjoyed the Superbowl (as much as they could). But we're back, we're here, and there's an episode for y'all to listen to. The guys today talk about the All-Star game, the MVP talks, the Andre Drummond situation and we've got winners and losers for the month that we were away (hint: ya like Jazz?). Enjoy!
I told y'all we were back. In this week's episode, we break down the massive news of the trade between the - including, but not limited to - Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets, moving James Harden to play alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. We've got winners and losers of the week, we've got our discussion, and we've got weekly malnourishment. It'd be a classic if not for us missing our guy Bill, but it's still a special one for today's fill-in, Chams. Enjoy!
Ok, I swear this is the last time guys. We are back. I know I've been full of empty promised to this point with how many times we've said "we're back" but we're like, actually back this time. And of course, we're talking about the massive news that half of the Philadelphia 76ers lineup did not play due to COVID-19. That, and plenty of other news, along with Winners and Losers of the NBA week, including LaMelo Ball, Bradley Beal and the Detroit Pistons. And we finish with everyone's favourite (this is an unsubstantiated claim by me) discussion questions. Strap in fellas, it's a good one.
Season 2 continues with us returning for the new NBA season, which just got underway this weekend. We recap some of the stories and games and feature a brutally challenging trivia. And finally, Hot Take or Nah makes a return with the guys running through some hot takes from the first few games of the season. It's a truly malnourished episode, so enjoy it!
Season 2. Man, it still feels weird to call it season 2. But here we are, yet again. On this week's episode, we're talking about the blockbuster trade from last week, along with Kyrie Irving's recent tirade against the media. Then it's time to talk predictions, as we gear up for the new season. It's a fun one, so make sure you tune in!
WE ARE BACK! Gosh, I think I've said that in each of the last few descriptions. But like, we're actually back! I mean like, "Season 2" - type back. It's been a crazy year, and a fun offseason (or maybe the other way around, since I got a puppy). And that means there's plenty of Beancasting to be done. So strap in for a long one, we here for the long run, talking about FA, trades, front office changes and the NBA Draft.
When I say we are back this week, I mean we're ALL back. Bill, Karran and Prad, all finally reunited for the first time in what feels like ages, for the final episode of the NBA Season. We do the usual, talking shit about the Lakers, the Rockets, and the Clippers, while also recapping some random things from this past season. It's a grand one, hope y'all enjoy!
In this week's edition of the Official NBA Beancast, Karran and Bill take us through the finals right before game 6, as well as a whole lot of other stuff. Prad is missing from this one but don't worry, he'll be back next week and all will be well. Editing by Prad, Music by Makaih Beats
Welcome back, we're here again, it's time for the Official NBA Beancast baby! Unfortunately, we're down a member, but Kaz and Prad are still with us for a great episode, talking about Doc Rivers' firing and Glenn Rivers' hiring, the Conference Finals and the current situation of the NBA Finals, plus a few questions leading into next season (whenever that is). Editing by Prad, Music by Makaih Beats, and please don't copyright claim this, there are literally no profits to take.
After yet another week's break, the NBA Beancast is back for another one. We'll be properly back from here on out, so look forward to out weekly episodes! We're cutting down from the previous format of a news episode and a regular episode because there's a lot less happening now, but that just means more juicy commentary in this one! In this episode, we talk about the coach firings and hirings, as well as, obviously, the NBA Playoffs! It's a great one, make sure you tune in! Also, when's the last time you stayed up till 4am? Let us know in the comments below! Edited by Prad, Music by Makaih Beats.
This week's episode is a long one, but it's a great one, featuring not one, but TWO guests. With Bill and Karran being rested for load management reasons, Rahul and Jynx have stepped in. This episode's agenda is: Trivia: Which players have scored the most points in their first 20 career games? The All-Defensive Teams and how they're voted for. A review of all the second round series (featuring real sad boy hours on the Rockets) And a look ahead at Boston vs Miami. Finally, Weekly Malnourishment: What's your favourite NBA moment, outside of the competition side of things? Enjoy the episode, and have a great week! Edited by Prad, Music by Makaih Beats.
Well, the first round's done, and the second round is well underway. On this week's episode of the Official NBA Beancast, we review the first round, talking about all the headlines and stories coming out of each of the relevant series, followed by a discussion about the second round. Who's coming out on top? Who's going to falter? Which Tony Brother is going to call more techs? Find out all this and more on this episode of the Official NBA Beancast. Editing by Jacob Smith (@uneven_geometry), music credits to Makaih Beats.
In this week's episode of the news edition of the Official NBA Beancast, we talk about the Pacers' weird timing with their firing of Nate McMillan, the injuries to the Los(e) Angeles Lakers and the new head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, among a few other things. It's a fun episode, tune in for a quality laugh and a good time!
With the regular season games in the Orlando bubble concluding, the guys discuss two young guards that are on the path to being household names - Devin Booker & Donovan Mitchell, but who has the edge? The Philadelphia 76ers season is all but over due to their shambolic first few playoff games, prompting the weirdly difficult question of what should the 76ers front office do this offseason? Getting their hands on a time machine appears to be the best idea... And it wouldn't quite be a Beancast if the guys weren't completely wrong about something - the biggest surprises from the playoffs so far, featuring Beancast favourites, the Denver Nuggets, or is that, the enver Nuggets? You get the point, they've been bad. Edited by Jacob, Music by Makaih Beats
In this week's news episode of the Official NBA Beancast, the guys talk about the recent injury news regarding Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis, as well as Portland's Zach Collins and kid wonder Luka Doncic. We also talk about the scheduling of games in the bubble, with players playing games every second day. It's a shorter one, but still a good one, so tune in!
On Wednesday's episode of the Official NBA Beancast, the guys discuss each of the matchups coming into the playoffs. There's not much else to say, so just go ahead and listen. Go on, do it. I dare you. Edited by Jacob Smith, Music credits to Makaih Beats.
On this week's news episode of the Official NBA Beancast, the guys discuss the close game between the Portland Trailblazers and the Memphis Grizzlies to secure the 8th seed, the firings and extensions this week of coaches and managements, and get into a heated debate about Nate McMilllan. It's a great one, so be sure to tune in! Edited by Prad, Music Credits to Makaih Beats.
In this week's edition of the Official NBA Beancast, the guys discuss a wide variety of topics, from the Denver Nuggets' system of basketball and what it means for the future of the NBA, the growth of Luka Dončić compared to other NBA superstars, and the importance of the games played in the NBA Bubble.
The guys sit down to discuss the recent happenings in the NBA, from Devin Booker carrying the Suns to 5 straight wins, the beef between the Clippers and Damian Lillard, Paul George's many losses for the week, and the finalists for NBA awards this year, as well as a few other topics.
What's something you thought was normal... but found out wasn't? The NBA bubble in Orlando certainly isn't normal. Tune in to hear the guys discuss who they think is likely to benefit from the bubble, will it be the injury riddled Nuggets or the old Lakers? The bubble brings on a format that we've never seen before, creating quite a few dark horses as well as having the potential to expose teams like the Jazz and Pacers. The bubble has placed teams out of their comfort zones and no doubt players and teams will be looking to keep some normality - your Beanboys discuss the 3 essentials that they couldn't go without in the Orlando bubble. P.S. I love Michael Bubble (g'day if ya reading) Music: Makaih Beats World class editing: Jacob Smith
In this week's news episode, the guys talk about all the players returning to their teams this week (there were a fair few), as well as the Knicks signing Tom Thibodeau, Lou Will's brilliant decision to take a trip to Magic City and a few other things. Edited by Prad, Music Credits to Makaih Beats.
On today's instalment of the Beancast, we sit down to discuss the up coming western conference match-ups, which teams we have our money on, and defended our beloveds (read: favourite players) from scrutiny. In Weekly Malnourishment™ we discuss our love-hate relationships and 'Beauty and the Beast' pairings. Make sure to hit us up on Instagram to tell us your answers for this week's Weekly Malourishment™ ! Thanks to me, Jacob, for editing this episode. In the words of DJ khaled, you certainly are "suffering from success".
A midweek episode?? That's right, we're now doing two episodes per week! Our Wednesday drops will be NBA news, so we can have our regular pisstalk for Fridays. This episode, we talked about the injuries and COVID related news coming into the NBA Bubble, along with the NBA Awards news and finished with a quick discussion about how Stephen Jackson has continued to double down on his disappointing comments. Hope you all enjoy this extra special edition of The Official NBA Beancast! Thanks to Prad for editing. Much love mate ❤
On this instalment of the NBA Beancast, the bean boys go through the eastern conference run to playoffs & discuss who is a contender and a pretender along with likely first round match ups & just how interesting they would be. The fellas also discuss the recent developments in the Floridian Bubble as well as a certain player's recent social media controversy. As always, massive thanks to our guys Jacob Smith for his work editing. Music by Makaih Beats.

Music credits go to Makaih Beats. Legends: Derrick Rose Draymond Green Phil Taylor Tim Duncan Paul Scholes James Hunt Scotty Cranmer Keiichi Tsuchiya
With Vince Carter announcing his retirement last week, we thought it'd be a good time to do a small retrospective on his extremely lengthy career, discussing a wide variety of topics about his career from his best dunk to his rough departure from Toronto. We also talked about a few of the updates to the NBA's return. The episode was only half amazing so it might not be as good as usual though. As always, massive thanks to our guys Jacob Smith (@uneven_geometry) for his work editing. Music by Makaih Beats.
Hopefully this podcast is small enough that North Korea won't send agents to silence us, but if we never upload another episode, y'all now what happened. Anyway, enjoy this (again) different style episode, where we talk about a fantastic documentary from 2013, and North Korea. Our editor Jacob is back so everything is nice and crisp again.
You read that right. AFL. The Australian Football League. Footy. We talked about it. Hope y'all can enjoy, once again, a slightly different version of your Official NBA Beancast! Music by Makaih Beats.
In this week's episode, we tried something a bit different. With the NBA confirmed to return on July 31st and a bit of spare time, we decided to try drafting the pieces of an NBA franchise, either going for success, memes or just outright chaos. It's a great one, and we invite you to play along. As always, cheers to Makaih beats for the opening music.
Thank goodness for Adam Silver, setting those cameras on the Bulls that year, which brought us the terrific documentary series that was The Last Dance. We all enjoyed it, and so we've made this latest episode just to talk about it. Oh, and we got everyone's favourite guest, Tom TK back again! This episode was brought to you completely unsullied be sponsorships since day one, and edited by... Prad? Yeah, unfortunately I'm the editor this week, so the audio issues we had are even more clear, though I've done what I can. Still, hope y'all enjoy!
With a bit of spare time, the guys decided to put up their All-NBA teams, including defensive teams. Hear about how our personal biases and also pisstaking played into these in this quality episode! Our man Jacob Smith (@uneven_geometry) had to deal with a lot of bleedover effects from us laughing so much so big props to him for his editing job.
Introducing our true Captain, we have for this EXTRA-long episode a highly esteemed guest in Tom TK. He joins us on this rare occasion to discuss the three most interesting teams in the NBA right now; the Milwaukee Bucks, the Dallas Mavericks and the New Orleans Pelicans. In an episode full of trash-talking, pisstaking and grading, we hope you all enjoy!
The second last team grading episode is out! On this one, we discuss the fallen San Antonio Spurs, likely to miss their first playoffs in basically forever, Star Fox, Buddy "shoot like Steph, big like Klay" Hield and the Sacramento Kings, and finally the Minnesota Timberwolves. Remember when KD said "Why the [expletive] did let me do this to my life?" The guys discuss one time they couldn't believe their friends let them do something. Leave any of your own stories in the comments! We release weekly on Wednesday, but man, our editor Jacob Smith (@uneven_geometry) had this episode edited with all the quality references and sound quality as early as Friday. The efficiency is Steph Curry 2016 levels. Thanks so much, man.
Cringe Wednesdays are here for the latest episode of the Official NBA Beancast. The guys discuss the Pacers, the Raptors and the Hawks. Plus, weekly malnourishment: what's the best "I'm back" moment you've seen? As always, massive thanks to our guy Jacob Smith (@uneven_geometry). With our malnourishment on the mics, he's putting in some hard hours to make this podcast ear-worthy.
All the guys are back for this episode, including Young Jacob, due to some technical issues the guys encountered. Still a quality episode with the guys reviewing the Cavaliers, the Heat and the Trailblazers. Karran had a scorching hot take about Damian Lillard.
The bean is back (!) for another fantastic episode discussing the seasons of the Utah Jazz, the Memphis Grizzlies and as you can probably tell from the title, the Los Angeles Lakers. This episode features a return by Ajinkya Khairnar and an excellent rant by Prad. Big shoutout to Ajinkya for coming on as a guest, thanks to Mikaih Beats for the music and as always, massive thanks to Jacob Smith for his work editing the podcast. This quarantine period has put extra pressure on his work and he's come through perfectly every time.
We are back for another episode of the Official NBA Beancast! Listen to this one for some of the hardest trivia yet, along with grading for the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets. We also discuss what we should be in the Hall of Fame for. As always, massive thanks to our guy Jacob Smith (@uneven_geometry) for his work editing. While we're recording from home we're recording on our phones and the fact that our audio is still up to par, even with all our habits that we loosen up on at home, is all thanks to him. And again, thanks to Mikaih Beats for the music.
G'day guys! We're back for another episode of the Lockdown Saga. This week we're grading the greatest franchise in the NBA, the New York Knicks, followed by the "objectively" best team in the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers and finally the Washington Wizards. Plus, the guys discuss a time they were blamed for something that entirely wasn't their fault. Enjoy! Massive thanks to Jacob Smith (@uneven_geometry) for his work editing this separated episode, and thanks to Mikaih Beats for the music
This week's episode is the third episode in the Lockdown Saga, and the guys continue to grade teams. Karran tackles the confusing Houston Rockets, Prad takes on depressing Detroit Pistons and Bill covers the 2021 Eastern Conference front-runners, the Brooklyn Nets. As always, massive shoutout to Jacob Smith (@uneven_geometry) for editing the episode. We had some audio issues as we unfortunately have one annoying mic and he somehow managed to make it sound completely normal. And also thanks to Mikah Beats for the tunes.
This week's teams are the Phoenix Suns, the Charlotte Hornets and the Chicago Jim Boylen's. It's a quality episode, with all the pisstaking you could ask for. Thanks again to Jacob Smith for his top-notch editing (@uneven_geometry) and to Mikah Beats for the music. Enjoy!
Due to the NBA being suspended for the foreseeable future, the guys will be going through all 30 NBA teams and give them a grade for the season so far. This episode, they look at the Warriors, the Celtics and the Magic. Plus, what kind of emotions do Woolworths employees have to suppress? As always, massive thank you to Jacob Smith (@uneven_geometry) for editing and to Mikaih Beats for the background music.
The guys talk about the unicorn of the NBA and his recent play as he returns to form, the New York Knicks for being the New York Knicks, the mutual agreement to part ways with Kenny Atkinson by the Nets, and several other topics from the past week. Massive thanks to Jacob Smith (@uneven_geometry) for his fantastic work editing the episode, and to Mikaih Beats for music.
In this episode, we changed up the format to include more random discussion rather than the weekly review of the news that basically every other podcast seems to already to. With that, we get to talk the recent spew of injuries, Jayson Tatum, the Celtics, the traditional NBA big man and the best organisation of the last 20 years. Music credit Mikaih Beats, editing by Jacob Kingsley Smith. Big thanks to Raff Rahmath for being yet another awesome guest.
