Join Our Discord!The third season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime television series is based on the manga series Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami. An animated adaptation of the manga was originally announced in the 52nd issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump, which was published in November 2019.[1]Following the conclusion of the second season, an unspecified anime sequel covering the "Culling Game" story arc from the manga was announced.[2][3] In August 2025, it was announced that the sequel would be the series' third season, currently titled The Culling Game: Part 1 (死滅回游 前編, Shimetsu Kaiyū: Zenpen), which premiered with a one-hour special featuring the first two episodes of the season on January 9, 2026. Shōta Goshozono returns from the previous season to direct, with Hiroshi Seko and Yoshimasa Terui [ja] respectively returning as series composition writer and music composer.[4][5][6][a]The season is adapting the manga's "Itadori's Extermination", "Perfect Preparation", and "Culling Game" story arcs.[7][2] The plot follows the Jujutsu Sorcerers entering the Culling Game,[8][9] with the main objective of fighting off Kenjaku[10] and freeing Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm.[11] A compilation film of Shibuya Incident, which also featured the first two episodes of The Culling Game: Part 1, premiered in Japanese theaters on November 7, 2025.[4]

This episode's guests were speakers on the Joint ADSA-CSAS Breeding and Genetics Symposium:Dairy Welfare—Breeding and Management Strategies at the 2025 ADSA annual meeting. Jessica's talk was titled “Herd Sustainability Index: Using milk recording data to evaluate dairy herd sustainability.” This index provides a national percentile ranking benchmark for producers relative to sustainability from DHI data. The index evaluates ten indicators in four major categories: longevity and culling, feeding and production, heifers, and health. (2:51)Dr. Vasseur's talk was titled “Improving welfare through inclusive innovation: The story of WELL-E.” This inclusive innovation delivers data-driven solutions with and for the Canadian dairy industry by integrating stakeholder and domain knowledge with cutting-edge tools and methods of the improvement of animal and human welfare. (4:48)Dr. Vasseur talks about the development of the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Dairy Cattle, which was published in 2023. This most recent code of practice included recommendations and requirements for more opportunities for movement for dairy cattle, particularly those in tie stall environments. Dr. Vasseur's lab has conducted research in this area to help dairy producers with possible modifications of stalls and other recommendations to improve cow comfort. Jessica describes her master's research in tie stall modifications. The guests go on to talk about how often cows in tie stalls bump into their stall, some proof-on-concept research looking at doubling stall size, and recommendations for cow comfort improvements in existing tie stall operations. (6:53)Dr. Vasseur discusses the relationship between cow comfort and longevity. She also talks about the realities of converting a tie stall barn to a free stall barn. (20:12)Jessica describes the indicators used in the Herd Sustainability Index in more detail. A minimum of six tests in the last 12 months with 50% of the cows being recorded are needed to calculate the index for a farm. One of Ireland's best-known wild animals, the Sika deer, has been declared an invasive species in the European Union, raising questions around whether it must now be culled. The smallest of the country's three wild deer, Sika was added to the EU list of alien invasive species of union concern last summer. Its inclusion means countries must eradicate the deer, control their populations or prevent their arrival in the first place. Recorded in a hunting camp in the Rolling Plains of Texas, the trio dives deep into the science and strategy behind successful wildlife management. The Role of a Biologist: Cyle Foley explains his role as a consulting wildlife biologist. He emphasizes that effective management starts with knowing what you have. He conducts helicopter surveys to count populations, determining buck-to-doe ratios and fawn crops to set accurate harvest quotas. The group discusses the importance of the "management team"—the landowner, the land manager (Craig), and the biologist (Cyle) working in unison to achieve property goals. Deer Management Philosophy: "Age is King": Cyle stresses that age is the most critical factor in producing big deer. A buck needs to reach maturity (5-6 years old) to express his full potential. Nutrition is Queen: Once age is established, nutrition is the next limiting factor. If a deer has age and food, the antlers will follow. Genetics is the Joker: They agree that in a low-fence, free-range environment, you cannot effectively manage genetics. Culling "inferior" bucks generally doesn't work because you can't control the doe's genetic contribution. The Quail Equation: The Rolling Plains is famous for quail, but populations are volatile ("boom or bust"). Cyle explains that while rain is essential, timing is everything. Rain is needed to grow forbs (weeds), which attract insects. Quail chicks require a diet of almost 100% insects for the first few weeks of life to survive. Without "bugging grounds," the chicks starve even if the habitat looks green. Habitat Restoration: They discuss the use of prescribed fire and mechanical clearing (grubbing) to restore grasslands. The goal is to create a mosaic of cover and open space that benefits both deer and quail. Cyle's Background: A graduate of Texas Tech University, Cyle started his own consulting business to help landowners across Texas. He values the relationship with practical managers like Craig who can implement the scientific recommendations effectively on the ground. 'In-ovo' sexing, or determining the sex of an egg before it hatches, has long been seen as a potential solution to the problem of male chick culling at hatcheries. Methods of in-ovo sexing have historically been invasive and difficult to apply at scale, but today we're spotlighting a company with some revolutionary tech that could change that. Jennifer Volz is the Head of Global Business Development at Orbem, a Germany-based company using MRI technology and AI algorithms to make mass in-ovo sexing achievable for only a few cents per egg. Orbem's tech is already in use at several hatcheries in Europe, and Greg caught up with Jennifer at their Houston office, where they're quarterbacking the company's expansion into the US.
