This isn't farewell but just...see ya later. While it's been an amazing ride and journey for The Rap With Ry, I have decided to put my podcast on pause for a while as I am currently building new businesses and need to focus on those ventures as well as some positive personal things happening in my life. I love ALL of my listeners and supporters and appreciate the time you've spent tuning into the show, providing feedback, and speaking words of affirmation over me and my goals. I promise I'm not leaving for good, just for a moment. I can't say when I'll be back but please know that I will certainly be back. It may be six months from now, a year from now, who knows....but I will return. In the meantime, feel free to continue to follow the journey of my new business ventures as well as continue to follow The Rap With Ry on social media as news and updates pertaining to celebrities, travel, adventure, etc...will continue to be posted on all social media platforms for the podcast. Today we're talking about living within your fullest potential. Sometimes, we look to others to empower us, uplift us, motivate us, etc...but the best empowerment can come from within ourselves! Having the support is nice. Having a sisterhood is awesome. But there's no better feeling than of us being our own biggest "cheerleaders". That shows us our confidence and self-esteem. Believing in ourselves FIRST, will help to enlist others to believe in us and our gifts too. When people around us can see our ligh shining bright from within, that tells them this person has an emotional strength and balance that enables them to be destined for greatness. How you lead yourself determines how others will see you. What are your causes? Do you stand for something? Or fall anything? How do you contribute to raising awareness within your community? We're talking about our fight within the Black Lives Matter movement and how we will never forget those who fought for our rights. We're talking about injustice and inequality and how the world has or has not changed over time. We're remembering Emmett Till and his mother Mamie Till Mobley and how her fight for justice of her son's murder made history and still plays a major part in our outlook as to why we continue the fight to end modern day slavery, protest our rights and FOR what's right until the day of change comes. They always say boys need their dads in their lives to teach them how to be men. I agree. But I also feel that girls need their fathers just as much as boys. We need our dads to show us how males should treat females in a positive light. To show us an example as to how our fathers treat our mothers. How a young man should treat a young woman. How to learn, know, and understand the signs of a man who does not have good intentions when courting us. How to protect ourselves in self defense when someone is trying to harm us. Take us out exploring and fishing just as you would your sons. There's nothing wrong with us learning those things to help prepare us for the world as well. Just because we are female does not limit our ability to be able to bond with our fathers in a way as our brothers would in order for us to be able to connect and have a deep relationship with the male figures in our lives who are supposed to play a significant role in the impact of our upbringings. A letter to my sister for her birthday: Dear Tracy, It had been exactly two years since I last saw you and hugged you, before you were taken from me so violently. Had I known, had I any idea of what was to come, I would have held onto you a lot longer and a lot tighter. Though I'll never understand it, God had His plans for you and my niece Ashton, and called you both to come into His kingdom. You were never the "mushy" type and couldn't stand for me to get emotional. But I can't help but to miss you and often times...still...cry for you. We weren't speaking when you left this earth and I'm regretful that I didn't get to tell you I love you one last time. Or that I'm sorry and just wanted the best for you. But I know, within my heart of hearts, you already know all of this. You're MY little sister and you were one of my best friends. We called each other almost daily to talk about any and everything. Sometimes it felt like you were the big sister just from your words of wisdom you'd give me. You, me , and mama were all each other had. Now it's just me and mama, trying to keep it together and be strong. I have to admit, it ain't easy. I miss hearing your laugh, getting your phone calls, and emailing each other when we'd be at work. Tracy your personality, your authenticity, and your bravery are just some of the things that I miss about you. We're going on year six of you not being here. I'm still in shock that this is another birthday you're not here on earth to celebrate. You would have been thirty-three years old and I'm certain...an awesome mom. You were such a phenomenal woman. I will spend your birthday on Sunday celebrating not just the woman that you were, but the human that you were. Happy 33rd birthday my beautiful, dear sister. I pray that your birthday is spent with you smiling up in heaven, holding your baby girl as she looks at you with adornment in her eyes. Until we meet again little sis...continue to rest in paradise. As women we often forget our super power to be able to make a difference and an impact unto others, especially unto other women. We are a sisterhood gathered together to be a force to be reckoned with. If we come together to empower, embrace, and show love to one another there will be nothing that can prevent us from growing and progressing not just as a human race but as a woman race. There is no need to feel threatened or intimidated by another woman, she is your sister and your friend. Congratulate her on her Queen Goddess abilities and genuinely wish her much success in her life. Be her friend, be kind to her, support her, and comfort her emotionally as she will do the same unto you. #LiveLoveLaugh Don't forget to follow me on Instagram: @rynyree Visit my non-profit organization's website at: theangelhouse.org *Remember: If you or someone you know are a victim of domestic violence and/or sexual assault and are in need of help immediately please call 911 right away.* If you need to speak with someone about your experience as a victim of domestic violence and/or sexual assault please feel free to call the National Hotline for Domestic Violence: 800-799-7233 or National Sexual Assault hotline: 800-656-4673 Thank you for tuning in! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/therapwithry/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/therapwithry/support
