Jesus Calling: Stories of Faith
Choosing Freedom Over Fear in the Wake of Crisis: Jameson and Mary Reeder & Greta Eskridge

This week, we hear from Jameson and Mary Reeder, authors of Rescue at the Reef. They share the miraculous story of their ten-year-old son, Jameson Jr., who narrowly survived a devastating bull shark attack in the Florida Keys. Despite a life-altering injury, Jameson Jr.’s faith remained unshaken, and just four days later, he asked to return to the reef. Later in the episode, we hear from Greta Eskridge, author and homeschool mom of four, who shares her story of healing after her husband Aaron confessed to an affair and a years-long pornography addiction. While working to heal the damage to their marriage, Greta became convinced that parents must break the silence around this issue and initiate difficult conversations with their kids about pornography. [My son] hears me scream, “No,” and the first words out of his mouth are, “Daddy, it’s okay. Jesus is going to save me.” - Jameson Reeder “When you face your fear, the fear doesn’t go away, but what you focus on is what rises. Do you focus on the fear or do you focus on your heavenly Father who’s with you in those fearful moments? He’s not abandoned you. He’s with you. And when you focus on your Father over the fear, then freedom rises.” - Jameson Reeder “Cultivating connection isn’t about these singular once-a-year, twice-a-year big moments. It’s everyday intentional time spent with one another.” - Greta Eskridge “We need to have conversations about pornography and the disconnection that it causes.” - Greta Eskridge “Out of that brokenness [of betrayal] has come a desire for both of us to not only cultivate meaningful, intentional, lasting connection as a couple, but also with our children, with friends, because not only have we experienced the disconnection ourselves, but we have recognized that our world is becoming increasingly more disconnected.” - Greta Eskridge “As much as [my husband] wanted to escape addiction, the nature of addiction is that it is very hard to do that on your own, and he needed support.” - Greta Eskridge “Beginning to understand what [my husband] was dealing with was impactful for me to have compassion and understanding for him..Being willing to do that and pursue my own healing as a betrayed spouse at the same time, those two things were transformative, and really, honestly, what changed everything for both of us.” - Greta Eskridge “When we allow ourselves to have that conversation [about pornography] with our kids or with one another, it takes away the power of the thing, and it reduces the shame. Shame tells us this is the end. But when we bring it into the light, it loses its power.” - Greta Eskridge “It’s incredible how much can change just by simply opening the door to honest, heartfelt conversation.” - Greta Eskridge ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel! June 10 to June 16, 1945   This is Summer of Trinity, for the week ending Saturday June 16, 1945.   Sunday, June 10,1945 - 36 Days Before Trinity It's the 71st day of the Battle of Okinawa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_William_D._Porter_(DD-579) Monday, June 11,1945 - 35 Days Before Trinity It's the 72nd day of the Battle of Okinawa   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Miles_McCool Tuesday, June 12,1945 - 34 Days Before Trinity It is the 73rd day of the Battle of Okinawa.   General Eisenhower receives the "Freedom of the City" at London's Guildhall. This symbolic act, with seven hundred years of history behind it, makes him "a citizen of the city." https://www.nps.gov/articles/general-eisenhower.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franck_Report       Wednesday, June 13,1945 - 33 Days Before Trinity It is the 74th day of the Battle of Okinawa.   Thursday, June 14,1945 - 32 Days Before Trinity It is the 75th day of the Battle of Okinawa. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Inmate    Friday, June 15,1945 - 31 Days Before Trinity It is the 76th day of the Battle of Okinawa. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calutron (How they enriched U-235 for Little Boy) https://www.atomicheritage.org/history/science-behind-atom-bomb   Saturday, June 16,1945 - 30 Days Before Trinity It's the 77th day of the Battle of Okinawa.    The Science Panel, headed by Robert Oppenheimer, and also including Enrico Fermi, Ernest O. Lawrence and Arthur H. Compton, gives the following report, classified Top Secret, to the Interim Committee: The report is titled "RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE IMMEDIATE USE OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS" and begins as follows: [Note to self - some emphasis included here to assist in reading as a script, but there's no font differences in the original.] You have asked us to comment on the initial use of the new weapon. This use, in our opinion, should be such as to promote a satisfactory adjustment of our international relations. At the same time, we recognize our obligation to our nation to use the weapons to help save American lives in the Japanese war. (1) To accomplish these ends we recommend that before the weapons are used not only Britain, but also Russia, France, and China be advised that we have made considerable progress in our work on atomic weapons, that these may be ready to use during the present war, and that we would welcome suggestions as to how we can cooperate in making this development contribute to improved international relations. (2) The opinions of scientific colleagues on the initial use of these weapons are not unanimous; they range from the proposal of a purely technical demonstration to that of the military application best designed to induce surrender. Those who advocate a purely technical demonstration would wish to outlaw the use of atomic weapons, and have feared that if we use the weapons now our position in future negotiations will be prejudiced. Others emphasize the opportunity of saving American lives by immediate military use, and believe that such use will improve the international prospects, in that they are more concerned with the prevention of war than with the elimination of this specific weapon. We find ourselves closer to these latter views; we can propose no technical demonstration likely to bring an end to the war; we see no acceptable alternative to direct military use. (3) With regard to these general aspects of the use of atomic energy, it is clear that we, as scientific men, have no proprietary rights. It is true that we are among the few citizens who have had occasion to give thoughtful consideration to these problems during the past few years. We have, however, no claim to special competence in solving the political, social, and military problems which are presented by the advent of atomic power.   The report is signed by Robert Oppenheimer, with the note "for the panel" https://www.atomicarchive.com/resources/documents/manhattan-project/interim-committee.html   As this week ends, the Trinity atomic bomb test has not yet been scheduled. However, it is exactly 30 days away.    Summer of Trinity is a part of Mapping History here on The Latest Generation.

A introduction to the state of the world in May 1945, as part of a re-run of Summer of Trinity. FDR is dead. Truman is President, only three months after he became vice-president. The Battle of Okinawa is ongoing - it had started on April 1st. USS Indianapolis is in San Francisco for repairs from a kamikaze attack in the waters around Okinawa, just before the invasion began. The USSR has just ended its non-agression pact with the Empire of Japan. Mussoline is dead, killed on April 28 Hitler is dead by suicide on April 30. Nazi Germany is defeated on May 8. The long-term coalition government in the UK ends with the victory over Germany. Churchill has requested that elections be held, around the beginning of July. In Los Alamos, the Manhattan Project team awaits deliveries of uranium and plutonium to use in their Little Boy and Fat Man designs.  And although nobody realizes it for certain, the war is nearly over.

Amelia Mijach's then 2 year old son Hayes was diagnosed with High Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when he was 2 years old in August of 2024 and the reason for his high risk status was because of his extraordinarily high white blood cell count at diagnosis. Hayes then contacted a serious fungal infection during his consolidation phase of his treatment and during the next year and a half of treatment he needed to fight off a battle of Neutropenic Fever and he experienced other battles as well. Finally in  December of 2025 Hayes turned the corner and is doing much better physically and is as active as possible.

What do Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam have in common? Chopsticks. In the second Formosa Files Snack, Eryk and John explore the cultural story behind one of East Asia's most iconic everyday objects. Why did chopsticks replace spoons in China? What role did noodles, rice, and Confucian philosophy play in their adoption? And how did superstitious Ming-dynasty boatmen turn the ancient word for chopsticks into “kuàizi” (literally “quick little boys”)? The origins of the English word “chopsticks” are pretty interesting too. Enjoy this quick, fun cultural and historical detour through the Greater Asian Chopsticks Sphere.

Today's guest, Dr. John Delony, is someone I have admired from afar for a long time because he has a way of cutting through the noise and getting straight to the heart of what's breaking our families. In this conversation, John gets incredibly vulnerable about his own "big dirty secret" how his success in the world was masking a "nuclear reactor" of stress that made his own daughter feel unsafe to hug him. We dive deep into the "toolkit crisis" facing men today, why we've started pathologizing normal childhood behavior in boys, and the radical choice to rebuild a marriage from the ashes. John also turned the tables on me, asking why I decided to "run it back" and get married again after a 20-year journey. This is one of the most raw, honest, and faith-filled conversations I've ever had on this show. If you've ever felt like you were just "performing" your life instead of living it, this episode is for you. From the outside, the house looks ordinary—just another quiet suburban home built to blend in and be forgotten. Inside, though, the hallways tell a different story. Doors lock on their own. Footsteps echo when no one is there. And a neatly dressed little boy appears again and again, unchanged by time. But he isn't alone. Something else moves through the house—taller, darker, and far more menacing. What begins as harmless mischief slowly reveals itself as a long-running struggle playing out in front of a family that never asked to be part of it. This is the story of a home caught between two spirits, and the night when even a hardened Marine realized there are things you can't stand your ground against. #RealGhostStoriesOnline #TrueGhostStory #ParanormalPodcast #HauntedHouse #ChildSpirit #ShadowFigure #SuburbanHaunting #UnexplainedActivity #SpiritConflict #ParanormalEncounter #FamilyHaunting #PhantomFootsteps #GhostlyPresence  Love real ghost stories? Some hauntings start with whispers. Hers began with footsteps. They echoed through the hall late at night—steady, deliberate, human. But everyone was asleep. Even the dog knew something was wrong. He wouldn't go near the TV room, growling low, staring at corners like he saw what they couldn't. And when objects started moving, when clothes appeared tossed across the floor and the closet door creaked open on its own, she knew this wasn't imagination. Something was living there. Something that didn't belong. Then her mother saw him—a small boy, maybe six years old, walking calmly into her daughter's room before vanishing into the closet. A priest came. The house was blessed. But blessings don't always last. Some houses hide monsters. Some send guardians. This one had both. #RealGhostStory #EyelessWoman #SaintMiriam #TrueParanormalStory #HauntedHouse #GhostEncounters #GuardianSpirit #ExorcismStory #ParanormalPodcast #TrueGhostStories #CreepyEncounters #HauntedFaith Love real ghost stories?
