The NA Spring Series is over! It was...something. And the Grand Finals were broadcast live on ESPN. Problem was, poor old Lief and Jamesbot spent their time babysitting USA soccer legend Landon Donovan instead of actually casting. Listen on to hear how we'd fix what was one of the weirdest Rocket League broadcasts of all time.

RLCS week 8 has completed, with Vitality reigning supreme over Yukeo and the boys on Dignitas. Our guest Ferra ended up ahead of Veloce and Barcelona and Scrub-less Mousesports and will be playing in playoffs next weekend. Oh, also we address the question of ARE CLOUD 9 BACK?!?!?!?!?

For EU guys like us, Pittsburgh Knights/The Peeps came seemingly out of nowhere. They quickly tore up the Rival Series and then moved on to winning Dreamhack Montreal, taking down Mousesports, Renault Vitality and G2 Esports along the way. After finishing 2nd at Regionals, Retals has joined us to explain his carefully crafted toxic persona and his "beef" with Turbopolsa.

The Upside-Down from Stranger Things has taken over RL Esports as Cloud 9 and G2 find themselves in danger of relegation. Will they be able to survive, or as SunlessKhan would say, are "ROSTER CHANGES" on the way? ViolentPanda from the RLCS World Championship winning team gives his thoughts on the season, his position vs Mousesports going into the playoffs and who exactly will make it to LAN in Madrid.

What is it that keeps Rocket League alive? The new mechanics discovered by the likes of Squishy? The content delivered by the RLCS casters? Maybe the toxicity on Twitter from Retals? For Mousesports Speed, it's classically just blueberry cheesecake from McDonalds and hanging out with Al0t and Kuxir that keeps him going. From Gfinity Elite Series sub to #1 in EU going into week 5, we delve into the psyche of what makes a boy from Norwich climb the ranks of pro RL.

At no point during week 3 did we feel at all comfortable with what was happening. Cloud 9 went 0-2 and are in 7th place, Pittsburgh Knights are in 2nd and NRG are the only unbeaten team in North America. To help us make sense of the Rocket League, but to scramble our brains about literally everything else, NRG's newest member Turbopolsa provided us with a trip into his mind.

Week 2 of RLCS has concluded and we are joined by the Danish unit himself, Reciprocity's Fruity! Topics such as EU > NA, Turbo getting NA MVP and Stumpy's "Player of the Weak" (get it?) are tackled by the boys.

Great question, title. Stumpy was merrily enjoying catching up on all the games from BTS, the laughs, the fun, when Cole burst in, slapped the controller out of his hands and told him why he was wrong. Also... WHY DIDN'T CJ SAVE JAHZO????!!

We are well and truly underway in the 2019 season of RL Esports, but it wouldn't be right if there weren't SOME drastic decisions made. Also, Stumpy's internet has got to be fixed by now... right?

After a successful jaunt up to Manchester for the UK National Coffee Throwing Competition and Tamper Tantrum Live at Cup North this weekend, our attention has turned fully to Paris. Known for its food, wine, and café culture, Paris’ specialty coffee culture has gone on a very visible journey from having a practically non-existent specialty coffee scene, the early development phase, and the point at which Paris was recognized, on an international level, as having a specialty coffee scene.Today’s talk from the catacombs is a truly fascinating one, offering a snapshot of the Parisian specialty coffee scene in 2012, right around the time it was starting to gain traction. David Nigel Flynn’s talk, “Jus de Chaussette” (“Sock Juice”), looks at the French culture of taste and of tradition, why specialty coffee is so hard for the French to swallow, and ways in which specialty coffee shops can frame the conversation in the way that doesn’t make traditionalists defensive. There are some real pearls of wisdom in this talk that, despite the fact that it is directly tied to a specific time and place, are still incredibly relevant to our discussions of specialty coffee today. We’re excited to bring this talk back for two reasons: (1) we’re planning on visiting a tonne of shops next week and want to see how much of an impact the introduction of “Jus de Chausette” has had on the French specialty coffee scene and, (2) it’s making us ask ourselves, in light of recent, plentiful conversations about third wave stagnation, how much have we actually progressed since 2012?
