Lo más importante es saber que la distribución es clave en el rendimiento de un motor. Pero… ¿Qué es la distribución? Pues todos aquellos elementos que regulan la entrada de aire y combustible y la salida de los gases ya quemados. Esto se llama técnicamente “flujo de gases” y debe hacerse de manera muy rápida. Pero tan importante como que se haga rápido, es que se haga de forma precisa y ordenada… y para eso está la distribución. Nos dedicamos hoy a los motores de 4 tiempos. Pero si eres de los que te gustan o te interesan los motores de 2 tiempos… ¡no nos hemos olvidado de ti! Puede buscar el vídeo de “Motor de dos tiempos: una historia de espías” que además de contarte la apasionante historia de este motor, te contamos cómo funciona. Y ahora, vamos con los 4 tiempos y con las…piezas clave. Te vamos a desgranar y a contar como son las piezas clave que componen la distribución, como son , para qué sirven y cómo funcionan. Pero para eso, como ya te hemos adelantado, nos vamos a nuestra “Pizarra Hermética” … Las piezas claves son las válvulas, que tiene forma de seta y abren y cierran permitiendo la entrada de gases, la de admisión, y su salida, la de escape. Hay varias configuraciones posibles. -Válvulas y árbol de levas laterales. -Válvulas en “cabeza” y árbol de levas lateral. -Válvulas y árbol “en cabeza”. -Doble árbol de levas “en cabeza”. Numero de válvulas. ¿Más es mejor? Pues sí. Está claro que cuantos más grandes o más “agujeros” tengamos, mejor y más rápido pasaran los gases. Por eso los motores que comenzaron llevando dos válvulas, ahora llevan casi todos tres y llegaron a llevar 5. Recordad que el volumen de los gases frescos es mayor que el de los quemados. Por eso las válvulas de admisión suelen ser más grandes y si el número es impar, la mayoría son de admisión… ¿Qué es el sistema “desmodrómico”? Ahora que Ducati arrasa en MotoGP y usa este sistema vamos a dar un repaso rápido. La gracia de este sistema es que normalmente las válvulas las abre el árbol de levas y las cierra un muelle, metálico y a veces neumáticos como comenzó a usar Renault en la F1 y ahora otras marcas incluso en coches de calle. En este sistema unas levas abren y otras cierran… Conclusión.
