This week, we will be studying Mark 7:24-30 under the theme “Even Her.” We learn that God's grace crashes through every barrier — race, religion, reputation. We see a Savior who draws out bold faith and proves that the good news of Jesus overcomes all boundaries.Series Summary: Fast-paced, urgent, and relentlessly focused on Jesus, the Gospel of Mark shows us not just what Jesus said, but what he did. Written for a Roman world hungry for power, Mark introduces a surprising King - one who comes to serve, to suffer, and to give his life for many. Over the coming weeks, we'll walk this road with Jesus, from the wilderness to the cross, discovering how the Servant-King's actions reveal the true good news - and what it means to follow him as disciples who take up our own cross and trust him with our lives.Add St. Marcus as your church on the Church Center App!Fill out our online connection cardHow can we pray for you? In 2026, we're slowing down to soak in the story that invites us to believe. The Gospel of John doesn't just tell us what Jesus did—it reveals who He is. Through signs and stories, questions and conversations, light and life, John calls us again and again to “come and see.” Over the next year, we'll walk with Jesus from the opening words—“In the beginning”—to the empty tomb, discovering how encountering Christ shapes our faith, our hope, and our everyday lives. This is more than a study; it's an invitation to deeper belief and fuller life. Learn more with Pastor John. James 4:7-10. In this message we dive into James 4:7–10 and six steps to fight worldly desires: submit to God, resist the devil, draw near to Him, cleanse your life from sin, grieve over brokenness, and walk in humility. These practical truths help us realign our hearts, restore our relationship with God, and experience the freedom and grace He offers. Choosing God's way over the world's leads not to loss, but to true restoration and life lifted up by Him.For upcoming events and important announcements at Skyline, visit our Facebook page or the Church Center App for the latest details! If you'd like to check out more resources, get to know Skyline Church, or donate to our ministry and missions please visit www.skylineofallon.com. In this Ash Wednesday devotion, we encounter a woman who poured out a year's wages in perfume on Jesus. It was an act others called wasteful, but Jesus called beautiful. As we begin Lent by confronting our mortality and sin with ashes, we're reminded that though we deserve dust, Jesus paid the ultimate cost so death wouldn't get the final word—He does.Series Summary: The religious leaders at the cross hurled a challenge at Jesus: “Let this Messiah, this King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe.” They demanded proof before faith. But the Gospel of Mark, especially in its story of the Passion, invites us into a different reality: believing in order to see. From the anointing at Bethany to the silent emptiness of the tomb, Jesus' journey subverts our expectations. The one hailed as king is crowned with thorns. The one with power to calm storms submits to arrest. The consistent, sure thread through the chaos is his Word. As the angel at the tomb reminded the trembling women, “He is going ahead of you…just as he told you.” As we study through Mark's Passion, we are invited to follow Jesus—not by sight, but by faith in his sure and leading Word.Add St. Marcus as your church on the Church Center App!Fill out our online connection cardHow can we pray for you? Anyone who's romanticizing the dating scene probably hasn't dated in a while. It's wild out there. Most people now meet online. Which means jumping through all sorts of technological hoops and shifting cultural expectations—padded profiles and airbrushed photos, unwanted DM's and DP's, meaningless hookups and side pieces. But it feels like you have to play along to even have a chance. Everyone keeps it casual, sleeps around, and looks at porn. Is any of it really that big a deal? And is it even possible to survive the current dating scene as a committed Christ follower? If you're new with us, let us know how we can be praying for you, we invite you to fill out an online Connect Card by visiting https://southhillschurch.churchcenter.com/people/forms/91550—If you are looking for what is next for you, we invite you to fill out an online “Next Steps” card by visiting https://southhillschurch.churchcenter.com/people/forms/672517To give with us select the Give tab on the Church Center App or visit https://southhills.org/giving/ and select the Corona Fund or Corona BOW Fund—Visit our Linktree to find out more about everything mentioned in today's message or follow along with the message slides:https://linktr.ee/SouthHillsCorona —To RSVP for On-Campus Events select the Events tab on the Church Center App or visit https://southhills.org/corona/

Join this sermon as the preacher explores Hebrews 3, using a hiker's story to warn against unbelief and hardened hearts. Discover three reasons Jesus is better than the wilderness: He is the true guiding voice, builds a sustaining community, and leads us into the promised rest. Be challenged to listen to God today, encourage one another, and hold firm in faith as you follow Jesus toward the rest he prepares. -- “Better Than Our Wilderness” Hebrews 3:6–19 Main Idea: Jesus is better than our wilderness—and He alone can lead us into the rest God always intended. Introduction: The Lost Hiker Jesus is the Better Voice in the wilderness (vv. 6–11) Israel heard God's voice in the wilderness but hardened their hearts. Israel resisted God even after seeing His works for forty years. Israel's unbelief kept them from rest. Jesus offers the true rest they never entered. Listen to the Better Voice. Respond today and trust His way. Jesus builds a better community for the journey (vv. 12–14) Jesus forms a community that helps one another persevere. The warning: unbelief can “trip you up” and divert you from the living God. The command: “encourage one another” while it's still Today. The promise: if we hold firm, we show we truly belong to Christ. We are better together. Guard one another and persevere as partners. Jesus leads to a better rest than the wilderness ever could (vv. 15–19) Israel experienced deliverance but not destination. Israel died in the wilderness because they wouldn't listen. They saw miracles but never entered rest because they never Jesus doesn't just deliver us—He brings us all the way home. Don't repeat Israel's story. Follow the Better Leader and enter the better rest Conclusion If we listen to Jesus' voice Today, He will bring us safely into the rest the wilderness could never give. -- Find other Podcasts, Sermon Notes and the Bulletin here. https://www.mvcnaz.org/live Stay in touch with our Church Center App at https://www.mvcnaz.org/churchcenter Contact us through our CONNECT form at https://www.mvcnaz.org/connect With Pastor Mike Curry.

James 4:1-6. We're jumping back into the book of James to explore how everyday disciples can point to Jesus wherever they go. In this message, we uncover how selfish desires and the pursuit of “more” fuel conflict, disrupt peace, and pull our hearts away from God. James calls us to examine our motives, align our desires through prayer, and choose humility over pride. Discover how God's greater grace transforms our hearts, restores our relationships, and leads us to lasting peace and contentment in Him.For upcoming events and important announcements at Skyline, visit our Facebook page or the Church Center App for the latest details! If you'd like to check out more resources, get to know Skyline Church, or donate to our ministry and missions please visit www.skylineofallon.com. With online dating, smartphones, and apps, we have access to more options than ever. But infinite possibilities can be paralyzing. And just because you can customize a search, doesn't mean you know what you're searching for, or that the person on the other end is being honest about who they are. You've heard people say, “All the good ones are taken.” Is that true? What constitutes a “good one”? Are we looking for the wrong things or in the wrong places? What if it's a bit of both? You're invited to a sermon exploring what makes a true hero — faithfulness, humility, and honor — illustrated by Desmond Doss, Moses, and above all Jesus. Using Hebrews 3:1–6, the message shows how Jesus is the greater hero and calls listeners to fix their thoughts on Him. Practical application: hold fast to Jesus, emulate His faithfulness, honor Him in worship, and trust the Son as the mediator and builder of God's household. “Jesus Is Better than Moses” Hebrews 3:1-6 Main Idea: Jesus is the greatest Hero—better than Moses —we must fix our minds on Him and hold fast to our hope in Him together. Introduction: I Need a Hero! Heroes are Faithful (vv. 1–2) Moses was faithful in all God's house. Jesus was faithful to the One who appointed Him. Heroes are Honored (v. 3a) Numbers 12:3-8 If anyone seemed closest to God, it was Moses—which makes the claim that Jesus is greater absolutely staggering. Jesus Is the Better Hero (v. 3b-6a) Builder vs. house Son vs. servant Heroes Hold Fast to Jesus (v.6b) We are God's house—His family—if we hold firmly to our confidence and hope in Christ. (Ephesians 2:19-22) Question: “If every believer in this church walked with Jesus like I do, what kind of church would we be?” Conclusion: How to Follow the Better Hero Fix Your Mind on Jesus Look at His Faithfulness See His Greater Honor Trust the Son Find other Podcasts, Sermon Notes and the Bulletin here. https://www.mvcnaz.org/live Stay in touch with our Church Center App at https://www.mvcnaz.org/churchcenter Contact us through our CONNECT form at https://www.mvcnaz.org/connect With Pastor Mike Curry.

Jesus is rejected in his hometown—not because he lacks power, but because their hearts are closed. People's unbelief doesn't change who Jesus is. Jesus is our Savior even when he's misunderstood. Our doubts or other people's opinions don't cancel Jesus' authority or compassion. God doesn't measure you by how others respond to you. Our job is not to control outcomes; it's to trust and obey. The more fixated we get on something, the more everything else fades to the background. If you're hoping to meet someone, it can be hard not to put your life on hold until it happens. If a lot of your dreams are based around getting married, it can be hard to know what to do in the meantime. Especially since the meantime is taking way longer than you want it to. Join today's sermon podcast as the speaker reflects on Hebrews 2:10–18 and the promise that Jesus is the ultimate helper. Through Scripture and stories, the message shows how Jesus shared our humanity, broke the power of death, and draws near with compassion to support us in real time. The sermon invites listeners to trust Jesus, cast their cares on him, confess sins, and rely on the Holy Spirit as they walk through life's struggles toward the hope of resurrection and God's promised glory. The Better Helper — Hebrews 2:10–18 Main Idea: Jesus is our Better Helper – fully human, suffered for us, defeated death, and leads the way home to God. Introduction – Roadside Assistance? Jesus Helps Us… By sharing our humanity and struggles (vs. 10-14a) Jesus' suffering equipped Him to help us completely (perfectly). Jesus knows our world from the inside: He lived with limits, poverty, and pressure. He felt exhaustion, grief, and relational disappointment. He faced temptation head‑on and understands its weight. Because He lived what we live, He is the better helper—one who truly understands. By breaking the power of death (vs. 14b-15) Jesus shattered death's power. Jesus frees us from the fear of dying. Jesus helps us face the valley of death without terror. III. With compassion, mercy, and real-time support (vs. 16-18) Jesus draws near. Jesus has walked our road. Jesus is the ultimate example. Conclusion Walk with the One who stepped into your humanity, felt your pain, faced your temptations, carried your sorrows, and broke the power of death itself. When it comes to being in relationships, CONNECTION and COMMITMENT are SYNONYMOUS. Unbound freedom can actually lead us away from people and away from God if we are not careful. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Freedom but that Freedom exist within the bounds of our covenant with God. If you're feeling unmoored, lacking purpose or direction, and feeling alone, the solution might actually be to trade your freedom for a committed, stable relationship. Despite half of American adults being single, churches seem to have no idea how to engage them. Singleness is often treated like a pitstop on the way to what really matters… coupling up and settling down. Which is why a lot of well-meaning married folk say all sorts of unhelpful and hurtful things to the singles in their orbit—dismissive, demeaning and condescending things; many of which contradict Scripture. Maybe it's time we adjust our view of singleness and start talking about and treating singles more like Jesus. What would happen if we did? Community Breakers & Community Builders is a deeply practical teaching on how real, lasting Christian community is formed—and what quietly destroys it. Natalie explores everyday relational patterns like conflict, pride, offense, envy, and victimhood, contrasting them with humility, forgiveness, responsibility, and celebration of others. Grounded in Scripture and real-life examples, this message invites listeners to rewire unhealthy habits, practice constructive conflict, and build relationships that actually reflect the love and unity of heaven. If you enjoyed this message, please review and share this message with someone who needs it.Connect with us at www.FamilyLife.ccIf you would like to support our mission financially, here are some ways you can donate to our church:Tap the text to the right to give via our Church Center App.Venmo/Zelle: Send to info@familylife.ccText any amount to 84321Visit www.FamilyLife.cc/Giving for more options.Thank you for listening and thank you for your generosity.
This week, we will be studying Mark 4:1-20 under the theme “The Kingdom's Mysterious Growth.” Jesus' parable of the soils reveals that the real issue isn't whether God's Word is powerful, but whether if our hearts are truly open for it to take root, go deep, and bear fruit.Series Summary: Fast-paced, urgent, and relentlessly focused on Jesus, the Gospel of Mark shows us not just what Jesus said, but what he did. Everyone knows putting yourself around the right people is important. Easier said than done. Some people only seem to drag you down. Others are good for you, but don't have much time for you. They're busy. And so are you. Then there are moments where you're surrounded by good people, but all your interactions just seem to skim the surface. You want more. But you don't want to make it weird. Is that even avoidable? If you can't become your best self all by yourself, where do you go from here? We take a break from our year-long series in the Gospel of John to look back at 2025 and celebrate all that God has done in and through our church. Pastor Jared unpacks 1 Peter 2:5 and talks about being "living stones." Also, we highly encourage you to download the Church Center App if you want more information about the church. This week we will be studying Mark 2:23–3:6 under the theme “The Life-Giving Lord of the Sabbath.” In these verses, Jesus confronts not only questions about rest and obedience, but the deeper issue of who has authority over life itself. The Sabbath was given as a gift, yet it had become a burden. Jesus does not abolish God's command; he fulfills it by restoring life and revealing himself as the One in whom true rest is found. When the Lord of the Sabbath is present, rules give way to mercy, and rest is no longer something to achieve, but something to receive.Series Summary: Fast-paced, urgent, and relentlessly focused on Jesus, the Gospel of Mark shows us not just what Jesus said, but what he did.
