It's so vital for us to learn to discern what's happening at the source. We live in a spiritual world and there are forces at work behind the natural veil we must learn to be aware of. Arguably this gift is one of the most crucial gifts needed within the body of Christ. The Apostle John had much to say on the topic as are there tremendous stories all throughout the Scriptures and namely the book of Acts where this gift in action is showcased and bears much fruit. We must be a maturing group of people who are able to discern what's happening and furthermore, know what to do with what we're discerning in the spirit world.

This gift is certainly one of the more dangerous gifts a believer can have. This fact can also make it one of the most alluring gifts to covet after. One must be on guard with this gift and make sure that they are using it to build up the body of Christ, and not tear her down.

Discerning of spirits is a gift of the Holy Spirit that allows us to very easily detect and decipher the motivating spirit behind something. I used to think this spiritual gift was the same as discernment but that is NOT right. I believe truly believe discernment and the gift of discerning of spirits are something everyone should be praying to access.  We need to know the motive and spirit behind things, because guess what? The devil has access to supernatural information too! Soooo many things can seem right when they are actually wrong. Here's where we're going.
