Starlight Thursdays Episode 265 featuring Party Robbins recorded live at Missoula Fashion Week block party. Who better to kick off the event than this man! I had the privilege of putting together the lineup and thought If Party Robbins would do the honor of opening it up and setting the vibe we'd be stoked to have him. He brought some funky house, minimal and techno to the sound system and the party began to form with hula hoops and flow dancers mesmerized by the beats under the sunshine. This was also the debut of our project Disco Carrot as a stage. We recently decked out a snowcat with speakers and a DJ booth to bring to events and fashion week turned out to be a perfect maiden voyage. We're really grateful Party Robbins christened the decks and played a fantastic set. Hope you enjoy!!! BK Love It was such an honor to play the inaugural Block Party set for Missoula Fashion Week! I knew I had to put together something really special for this set, as this was a lot of firsts for our local art community. It's a lot more laid back and groovy than my typical mix, but I kept just enough juice in it to keep you moving for the whole two hours. I hope you enjoy every one of these grooves! -Jack- aka Party Robbins. On May 2, 2000, the U.S. government lifted restrictions that made GPS technology more accurate and accessible to the general public. This day became known as Blue Switch Day, and this decision inadvertently created a new outdoor hobby. Geocaching is an activity where participants use GPS and coordinates to hunt down hidden containers, known as geocaches or caches, often located in parks, forests and cities around the world. The first cache was hidden just outside of Estacada, Oregon, only one day after Blue Switch Day. Twenty-five years later, there are now more than 3.3 million caches hidden around the world. PJ Hubbard is the treasurer for GEOregon, a nonprofit dedicated to creating a community for geocachers in Oregon. The group is holding a Block Party event in September at Champoeg State Park to celebrate this anniversary. Hubbard joins us to share more about the past, present and future of geocaching.

In today's Daily Fix:Borderlands 4 just got a new release date, and it's earlier than expected. Not only is that good news for Borderlands fans, but also Grand Theft Auto 6 fans. GTA 6 does not have a confirmed release date, only a vague "Fall 2025," but with both games falling under the watchful eye of Take-Two Interactive, it could be that Borderlands dev Gearbox may have gotten word internally on GTA 6's release date, and moved accordingly to make room. Could both games be releasing in September? In other release date news, upcoming action soulslike Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has a confirmed release date of July 24th, along with details of its Deluxe Edition and pre-order bonuses. And finally, A Minecraft Movie madness is getting the official okay from Warner Bros., with the studio supporting "Block Party" screenings where viral acts of Chicken Jockey insanity are encouraged.

One week after the Dallas Mavericks shockingly traded away the face of the franchise, Luka Doncic, MFFL (Mavs Fans For Life) were still hurting. They gathered outside of American Airlines Center before Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets to protest General Manager Nico Harrison's decision to pull the plug on a 25-year-old generational superstar. Although it will take time for fans to fully heal from such a loss, newcomers Anthony Davis and Max Christie performing as they did in Dallas' 116-105 win over the Houston Rockets will certainly help ease the pain for the time being. In his Mavs debut, Davis finished with a team-best 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks while shooting 10-of-18 overall and 2-of-2 from deep. He had to leave the game in the second half due to a “lower-body injury,” but Davis told the media after the game that it was just some tightness in his groin/quad area and nothing serious. Christie was the Mavs' second-leading scorer with 23 points on 5-of-10 shooting overall, 4-of-5 from deep and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. With 1:38 remaining in the game, Christie nailed a clutch 3-pointer off a pass from Kyrie Irving to give Dallas a 109-100 lead over Houston, which ended up being the nail in the coffin. On the night, the Mavs' stout defense set a new franchise record with 18 blocks. On this episode of the Mavs Step Back podcast, I break down Davis and Christie's performances while also offering some words of encouragement for MFFL, who might not be ready to accept this new chapter just yet.
