Not because God has changed — but because your nervous system, your trust, and your internal world are shifting. This episode gently unpacks how healing transforms the way you perceive God's voice, how to distinguish His voice from fear or shame, and how to recognize the tender, patient, protective tone God uses with His wounded children. If you're in a season of rebuilding your faith, reconnecting with God, or learning to trust His voice again, this episode will meet you right where you are.
The Next Step: Embracing Your God-Given Potential In a recent sermon titled The Next Step, the journey of life as a series of steps toward fulfilling our God-given potential was eloquently explored. The sermon drew parallels between life's journey and the concept of graduation, emphasizing that each step we take is a step toward the promise God has placed in our lives. Understanding Promise and Potential The sermon began with an insightful look into the meaning of "graduation," derived from the Latin word meaning "step." This metaphor was used to illustrate that life is a continuous journey of taking steps toward a destination, a journey that aligns with the biblical message that God has endowed each of us with promise and potential. This promise, described as "potential entrusted," represents the opportunity of a lifetime, a sacred trust from God that requires our active participation to fulfill. Biblical Examples of Fulfilled Potential The sermon highlighted several biblical figures who exemplified the fulfillment of their God-given promise: Joseph: A man of integrity who fulfilled his promise through perseverance. Moses: Known for his humility and servant leadership. Joshua: Displayed courage in the face of overwhelming odds. Esther: Exercised great faith and timing. Job: Demonstrated patience amidst trials. Daniel: Prioritized prayer and maintained integrity. Paul: Lived with a singular focus on realizing his promise in Christ, as expressed in Philippians 3:12-14. Lessons from Solomon The sermon took a deeper dive into the life of King Solomon, who was given explicit instructions by his father, David, on how to fulfill his potential. These instructions are found in 1 Kings 2:1-4. David advised Solomon to: Be Coachable: Seek and apply wisdom. Solomon's request for a discerning heart in 1 Kings 3:7-9 exemplifies his initial commitment to this principle. Cultivate Good Character: Defined as the will to do what is right, as God defines it, regardless of personal cost. Commit to God's Word: Walk in obedience to God's commands as the key to prosperity and fulfillment. Aim to Be a Person of Consequence: Live with a vision to impact others beyond oneself, ensuring continuity of commitment to God's ways. The Call to Action The sermon concluded with a call to action for the congregation to assess their own journey toward fulfilling their promise. It challenged listeners to be coachable, cultivate good character, commit to God's Word, and aim to be people of consequence. The ultimate realization of our promise begins with faith in Jesus Christ, who lived as a person of consequence for our eternal well-being. In closing, the sermon encouraged us to continually take the next step in our spiritual journey, reminding us that life is a journey, and there is always a next step to take toward our God-given promise.
Join Pastor Hank for a special Mother's Day message as he honors the powerful women who shaped his journey. This teaching goes beyond a simple tribute, exploring the spiritual weight of a mother's influence and the lasting impact of their prayers, wisdom, and faith.
This sermon centers on the profound spiritual and moral influence of mothers, using personal testimony and biblical examples to affirm their vital role in shaping godly generations. Though the speaker's own mother was not a Christian, her consistent teaching about human dignity and her quiet faith in God's creation planted seeds that later bore fruit, culminating in her unexpected conversion at the end of her life. Drawing from Scripture, the message highlights Jochebed, Hannah, and Mary as exemplars of faith, sacrifice, and devotion—mothers who trusted God with their children's futures, even when it meant surrendering them to divine purpose. The sermon emphasizes that a mother's faith, prayer, and consistent instruction, even when unseen or unappreciated, can have eternal consequences, as illustrated by the transformative life of the hymn writer John Newton. Ultimately, it calls mothers to persevere in faith, reminding them that their influence, rooted in God's Word and prayer, is invaluable and will one day be honored in heaven.

What does it mean to truly invest in the next generation? In this powerful message, Jacob unpacks what it looks like to have strong, available, and faithful shoulders for the young people around you — using a simple but unforgettable moment of lifting his son up to a basketball hoop as the entry point.Drawing from 1 Timothy 4:12, Mark 10, and Matthew 11, this sermon explores three types of shoulders the next generation needs from us: strong shoulders that call them up, faith shoulders that make room for them to encounter Jesus, and shoulders yoked to Jesus that are healed and formed through intimacy with God.You'll be challenged to reflect on the condition of your own heart — whether life's circumstances have made it old, hardened, or guarded — and invited to receive rest and renewal from Jesus before you pour into others.Whether you're a parent, teacher, coach, pastor, or mentor, this message is for anyone who wants to leave a legacy that goes beyond what they accumulate and extends to who they lift up.Big Idea: True legacy is not what you leave behind — it's who you lift up.0:00 - Introduction: Basketball, Kids & Lifting Them Up 1:55 - The Bigger Picture: Standing on Someone Else's Shoulders 2:38 - Big Idea: True Legacy Is Who You Lift Up3:54 - Biblical Examples of Passing the Torch 4:40 - Strong Shoulders: Call the Next Generation Up 5:03 - Paul's Letter to Timothy (1 Timothy 4:12) 6:39 - Correction With Calling vs. Correction That Crushes 7:02 - Practical Challenge: Speak Life Over Someone Younger 8:18 - Faith Shoulders: Make Room for the Next Generation 8:36 - Jesus and the Children (Mark 10) 10:19 - The Kingdom of God Belongs to Such as These 10:37 - Has Life Made Your Heart Old? 11:25 - Young at Heart: A Story From the Bahamas 13:43 - Wonder, Trust & the Childlike Kingdom of God 14:36 - Receiving From the Father vs. Achieving for the Father 16:26 - LVC Kids: Discipling, Not Babysitting 17:22 - Honoring Teachers: Your Influence Changes Legacies 18:23 - Youth Ministry & Creating Belonging for Teenagers19:41 - Strong Shoulders Must Be Yoked to Jesus 20:03 - Your Shoulders Are Only as Strong as Your Intimacy With God 20:52 - For Those Who Never Had Shoulders to Stand On 21:45 - Jesus Invites the Weary to Come (Matthew 11) 24:05 - Jesus Wants to Work In You, Not Just Through You 25:33 - Why Daily Time With God Matters 28:17 - Whatever Is Forming You Will Flow Through You 29:19 - We Pass Down What We Carry 30:12 - Jesus Wants to Be Part of Your Life, Not Just Use It 30:44 - Let Jesus Heal Your Shoulders 31:27 - Altar Call: Bringing Your Tired, Wounded Shoulders to Jesus 32:07 - Come to Simon (Coming to Jesus First) 32:43 - Closing PrayerSupport the showMade a decision to follow Jesus? Garth Heckman The David Alliance TDAgiantSlayer@Gmail.com Bearer of Measured Brutality. Do You YOU, feel like I do! Peter Frampton comes alive… Be the BOMB… The man who would go off. Is it seen in your walk, talk, dress, your command of your kids, your eye contact, your voice, your mental involvement in your kids, your social setting awareness. **Yes, I know exactly what you're referring to.** This comes from a 2017 interview with Jack Reynolds, a convicted child molester from Indiana who served over 12 years in prison for offenses in the 1980s (he claimed more than 300 victims). In the interview—conducted after his release and shared widely in child safety circles—he openly described his victim selection process. One of the first things he assessed was the child's father. His exact words (from the interview footage and transcripts that have circulated): “If I thought the father was a threat, I would not approach the child.” He targeted boys who appeared isolated, from split or unstable families, or who lacked a strong, present father figure. If the dad seemed attentive, involved, capable of confrontation, or simply “in the picture” in a protective way, Reynolds moved on to easier targets. He wanted zero risk of exposure, confrontation, or interference—predators like him operate in secrecy and silence, and a vigilant father raises the stakes dramatically. He scoped out potential victims in everyday places like school grounds, Little League fields, or neighborhoods, and he explicitly looked for vulnerability: no close friends the child would confide in, mothers who might welcome “help” from a friendly outsider (he'd position himself as a “superhero” offering to take the kid for outings), boys with little sexual experience, and families lacking strong values or structure. ### Other insights from this and similar predator accounts This isn't unique to Reynolds—multiple law enforcement interviews with convicted offenders (and research on grooming patterns) show predators treat “father presence” as a high-risk filter. Here are related patterns that consistently come up: - **They prioritize low-resistance targets overall.** Beyond the father, they avoid kids who seem confident, assertive, or likely to speak up immediately. They test boundaries gradually (grooming) and bail if the child resists early or has a tight support network (close friends, involved siblings, or other adults who pay attention). Reynolds himself said he skipped kids “that he would tell” because the risk of the child disclosing was too high. - **Absence or perceived weakness is the real opportunity.** Predators don't necessarily need a completely absent dad—they exploit dads who appear distracted, disengaged, overly trusting, or unwilling/unable to act. The “threat” Reynolds described wasn't just physical size or aggression; it was *perceived capability and willingness* to protect (being present, setting boundaries, staying alert). This is why child-safety experts emphasize that involved, visible fatherhood itself is a deterrent. - **Grooming is calculated, not impulsive.** Reynolds stressed it wasn't random or overnight—it involved scouting, building trust with the family, and exploiting cracks (e.g., a stressed single mom or a lonely kid). Modern versions often use social media for the same low-risk access, which he himself warned about in the interview as giving predators even more tools. - **Broader deterrence themes from other interviews.** Similar accounts (from prison interviews and prevention programs) repeatedly highlight that predators scan for *opportunity + low consequence*. Strong parental involvement (dad *and* mom), clear family rules about strangers/adults, kids who are taught to recognize uncomfortable situations and report them, and communities where adults watch out for each other all shrink the “easy target” pool. Physical fitness or “intimidating” appearance can play a role, but consistent presence and boundaries matter more. The core takeaway from Reynolds' own words (and why clips of this interview keep resurfacing on parenting and men's accounts) is simple: predators are opportunistic and risk-averse. They don't want a fight or attention—they want silence and compliance. A father who is actively engaged, physically and mentally prepared to protect, and visibly part of his kids' lives sends a clear signal: “Not this one.” It's a powerful, evidence-based reason for dads to stay sharp, involved, and unapologetically protective. This interview was shared precisely because Reynolds hoped it would help parents close those windows of vulnerability he once exploited. The Bible portrays fatherhood as a sacred responsibility that includes providing, guiding, disciplining, and actively protecting children—both physically and spiritually. While it does not contain a single verse that says "fathers must be aggressive defenders against predators," it repeatedly emphasizes a father's duty to guard his family from harm, sin, and vulnerability through presence, wisdom, instruction, and spiritual leadership. God Himself is often pictured as the ultimate protective Father, serving as the model. Key Direct Instructions to Fathers Ephesians 6:4 (ESV): "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." This verse gives fathers primary responsibility for raising children. "Bring them up" implies nourishing and protecting their growth, while "discipline and instruction" involves training them in God's ways to equip them against moral and spiritual dangers. The warning against provoking anger highlights balanced, non-abusive leadership that builds rather than breaks. Proverbs 22:6: "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not turn from it." This calls fathers (and parents) to proactively guide children onto a righteous path, which serves as long-term protection from poor choices or harmful influences. Proverbs 13:24: "Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him." Loving discipline is framed as protective care—guiding children away from folly and self-destruction. (This is balanced by calls for compassionate, non-exasperating leadership elsewhere.) God's Example as Protective Father The Bible often compares human fatherhood to God's character: Psalm 103:13: "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him." A good father shows tender yet strong care, knowing his children's weaknesses and shielding them. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (instructions to Israel, applied to fathers): "These words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." Constant, everyday spiritual instruction acts as a hedge of protection. Jesus strongly warns against harming or causing children to stumble: Matthew 18:6: "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea." This underscores God's fierce concern for children's safety and innocence, implying fathers (as protectors) must guard against those who would exploit or lead them astray. Biblical Examples of Protective Fatherhood Job: He rose early to offer sacrifices for his children, acting as a spiritual "hedge" around them out of awareness of their vulnerability to sin or attack (Job 1:5). This models proactive vigilance. Noah: He obeyed God to build the ark, saving his entire family from destruction (Genesis 6-9). Joseph (earthly father of Jesus): He protected the child Jesus by fleeing to Egypt to escape Herod's threat (Matthew 2:13-15). Broader theme: Fathers in Scripture are called to be providers, leaders, and defenders of the household (e.g., 1 Timothy 5:8 on providing for one's family, or the general principle of headship in Ephesians 5:23). Broader Insights on Protection The Bible ties a father's protective role to: Spiritual warfare and awareness: Being alert to dangers (physical, moral, or demonic) and trusting God while taking action (echoed in passages like Psalm 127 on the Lord watching over the house, or fathers as "watchmen"). Teaching and presence: Deuteronomy 6 and Proverbs emphasize daily involvement—being there, teaching truth, and building character so children are not easy targets for evil. Compassion with strength: Protection is not harsh control but loving guidance that prepares children to stand firm (Proverbs 14:26 links fear of the Lord with confidence and refuge for children). In short, Scripture presents the protective father as one who is present, spiritually vigilant, disciplining with love, instructing in God's ways, and willing to stand against threats to his family's well-being—modeling God's own fatherly care. This aligns with the idea that involved, attentive fatherhood raises the "cost" for anyone seeking to harm or exploit a child. Many Christian teachings on family draw from these principles to encourage dads to be both tender shepherds and strong guardians. Courage is one of the most essential qualities of biblical leadership, yet it is one of the most difficult for leaders to consistently choose. The Bible does not define courage as the absence of fear. Instead, Christian courage is confidence in God's presence, God's promises, and God's strength. Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly tells His people to “be strong and courageous” because He is with them wherever they go. In this episode, we explore why courageous leadership is necessary for Christian leaders who want to live with intentional influence and lead like Jesus. If you want to grow as a faith-based leader, overcome the fear of man, and lead with clarity, confidence, and biblical conviction, this conversation will encourage and challenge you. You will also hear why many leaders grow faster when they allow someone to walk beside them in their leadership journey. The Bible reminds us that iron sharpens iron, and leadership coaching can help you process decisions, strengthen your faith, and choose courage when leadership feels difficult. If you desire to lead with Christ-centered influence at work, in your community, and at home, this episode will help you understand why courage is the testing point of every virtue in Christian leadership. In This Episode • Why biblical courage is rooted in confidence in God's presence • How Christian leaders overcome the fear of man and lead with truth • Why courage is essential when making difficult leadership decisions • How courageous leadership inspires others to live by faith instead of fear • Why leadership coaching and accountability help leaders grow in courage Key Bible Verses on Courage Joshua 1:9 — “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Psalm 27:1 — “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?” 1 Corinthians 16:13 — “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” 2 Corinthians 4:8 — “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed.” 1 John 4:18 — “Perfect love drives out fear.” Psalm 31:24 — “Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in the Lord.” Biblical Examples of Courageous Leadership • Joshua – trusted God and courageously led Israel into the Promised Land • David – defeated giants and enemies by trusting God's protection • Jesus – modeled perfect courage and obedience even in the face of the cross Leadership Reflection Where is God asking you to choose courage in your leadership? Is it a conversation you need to have? A decision you need to make? A biblical conviction you need to stand on? Courageous leaders don't eliminate fear — they choose faith and obedience despite it. In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I dive deep into the concept of growth and the inherent costs associated with it. Building on our previous discussion about transforming our businesses into platforms for discipleship, I explore why growth—whether spiritual, personal, or professional—requires an exchange of value. I begin by emphasizing that growth is not just a linear progression; it often involves sacrifices of time, money, or energy. I challenge listeners to reconsider their approach to growth by asking not whether they are willing to pay for it, but rather what the cost of not pursuing growth might be. This episode focuses on the themes of transition and impartation in the spiritual journey, using the biblical stories of Elijah, Elisha, and Gehazi to illustrate how walking with God leads to seasons of change, growth, and responsibility. The speaker emphasizes the importance of moving from being a spiritual son or daughter to becoming a spiritual parent, imparting wisdom and anointing to others. Through examples from 1 Kings and 2 Kings, the message highlights obedience, humility, and the dangers of pride and transactional thinking, ultimately calling listeners to embrace a life of daily surrender and contentment in godliness rather than seeking personal gain or recognition.

Sermon Summary — “Jesus the Great Intercessor” Main Theme: Jesus Christ stands eternally as the Great Intercessor — the one who steps between humanity and judgment, taking our place, wrapping Himself in our condition, and offering access to God through His continual intercession. 1. Defining Intercession Pastor Denis begins by distinguishing intercession from ordinary prayer. All prayer is not intercessory, though intercession may happen during prayer. The Greek roots of “intercession” convey two ideas: To come between or to obstruct/prevent something harmful. To be wrapped up in — implying full personal involvement. An intercessor steps into the gap—on behalf of others—to obstruct harm or judgment and to bring about God's will, not personal desires. Example: Esther interceded for her people, risking her life to stand between them and destruction. True intercessors, like her, are willing to “wrap themselves” into a situation regardless of cost. 2. The Nature of True Intercession True intercession is not “safe” or comfortable, but rooted in faith and obedience. It is not motivated by emotion or pity, but by alignment with the will of God. It involves risk without fear, because “to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Pastor Denis uses a story of a mayor taking his mother's punishment to illustrate substitution — a reflection of what Jesus does for us. 3. Biblical Examples of Intercessors Job 9:32–33 – Job longs for a “mediator” (daysman) to stand between him and God — a foreshadowing of Christ. Elijah (James 5:17–18) – Elijah prayed for drought and then rain, aligning his intercession with God's word, even though it brought hardship upon himself too. True intercession seeks spiritual restoration above physical comfort. Moses – Offered his own life for Israel's forgiveness (“If you destroy them, destroy me too”). Shows intercession as willingness to bear another's burden or consequence. 4. Modern Application — Interceding with God's Will Sometimes God calls believers to pray difficult prayers, not just “bless them” prayers — to ask for repentance, breaking, and surrender. True intercessors pray for God's will, not people's preferences. Intercession might require standing against popular opinion or suffering personally for the sake of truth. 5. The Great Intercessor: Jesus Christ Hebrews 2 reveals that Jesus is the ultimate mediator who: Took on flesh and “tasted death for everyone.” Fully identified with humanity, walking through temptation, pain, and rejection. Now “lives to make intercession” for us continually before the Father. Jesus is the only one who: Stepped between judgment and humanity to absorb sin's penalty. Wrapped Himself in human weakness to redeem it. Now stands as our refuge, mediator, and hope. Key Insight: Saying “I can't overcome” or “I can't change” is not humility — it denies the power of Christ's intercession. Every believer must personally step into what Jesus has already provided. 6. Call to Action Seek Jesus first, before friends, family, or social support. Develop a personal relationship with Him — He's awake at every hour, listening and interceding. Make Him the center, not a part, of your life. Everything else should revolve around Him. Understand that Jesus' intercession is ongoing, not a one-time act — He is continually standing in the gap for us. Closing Message Jesus, the Great Intercessor, has already obstructed judgment, absorbed our punishment, and secured eternal life for those who believe. Now, He calls us to reflect His nature — to stand in the gap for others, to align with His will, and to give ourselves wholly to the purposes of God. “He lives to make intercession — not because He must be convinced, but because that's who He is.”
In this episode, Samuel Goulet explores the foundational role of solitude and silence in prayer, emphasizing that true intimacy with God begins when we separate ourselves from distractions and embrace stillness. Drawing on biblical examples and teachings, Samuel discusses the challenges of being alone with God, such as anxiety and restlessness, and encourages listeners to build a regular practice of quiet time with God. He offers practical advice for scheduling solitude, highlighting how spiritual growth unfolds as we consistently seek God in the secret place, ultimately calling listeners to cultivate spiritual maturity by knowing God personally and pressing on even when it feels awkward or difficult. Have you ever obeyed God, and it looked like everything fell apart right after? In this episode, Heather Sudbrock opens up about what it really means to walk in obedience when it feels like you are losing, especially in business and ministry. From Noah building something everyone mocked, to Abraham surrendering the promise God gave him, to Moses facing backlash after doing exactly what God said, we look at the moments in Scripture where obedience didn't look like victory but became the foundation for it. You will be reminded that the resistance, delay, and confusion you feel after obeying are not signs that you missed God. They are often proof that you are advancing heaven's territory. Heather shares how to recognize spiritual warfare when it shows up in your work, how to stay rooted when results don't match your obedience, and how to see success through Kingdom eyes instead of cultural metrics. If you are in a season where you have done everything right and still feel like nothing is working, this episode will remind you that obedience is never wasted. It is the soil where resurrection begins. Ready to turn your obedience into a blueprint for growth? In this sobering message, Brother Singh reminds us that the Church of Jesus Christ was never meant to be built upon human intellect, institutions, or modern trends. The true servants of God — like Moses, David, and Paul — were shaped in solitude and purified by trial before being entrusted with His Word. As the winds of deception sweep through today's religious world, this lesson calls every believer to return to the examples found in Scripture and to stand steadfast in truth, holiness, and humility before God.

Did you know that the concept of spiritual covering originated from the "Shepherding Movement" in the 1970s? Many prideful leaders are pounding ungodly doctrine down the throats of many wounded Christians ... manipulating and trying to gain control over souls, which is a form of witchcraft. This pattern is still being witnessed in various churches and on social media as a worldly recognition; often involving occult impartations and the glorification of self! A spiritual covering is NOT required for accountability. Let's be clear: You're covering and ultimate authority belongs to God, NOT man! Be wary of leaders who twist Scripture and prioritize submission to themselves over God. There are dangers of occult traditions and rituals that glorify self and place humans as divine authority, my friends! Spiritual coverings are a SCAM: You're covering comes from our Creator, not His creation! Pastor Heath Lambert tackles the controversial question of women's voting rights from a biblical worldview. In this episode, he addresses whether Christians should believe women should lose the right to vote based on male headship principles. Lambert provides clear biblical reasoning on government, voting rights, and how Christian families can maintain unity and biblical leadership while still allowing women to participate in democracy. This thoughtful analysis separates biblical mandates from cultural preferences and offers practical wisdom for Christian families navigating political participation.Key Timestamps0:13 - Question introduction: Should women be allowed to vote?2:02 - Biblical perspective on voting and government3:16 - Examples of biblical leadership (judges and kings)4:14 - Why voting isn't mandated or forbidden in Scripture5:53 - Reality check: Women's voting rights aren't going away6:31 - Why women should retain voting rights7:48 - Problems with male-only voting in a fallen world8:32 - How Christian families can vote with unity and leadershipKey Points- Voting is Extra-Biblical: The Bible doesn't mandate or forbid voting systems. Biblical examples show righteous government through judges and kings, not democratic processes.- Scripture Silence Means Freedom: Since the Bible doesn't specify voting requirements, Christians have freedom in how voting systems operate.- Male Headship Doesn't Equal Vote Monopoly: Biblical male leadership in the home doesn't logically require removing women's voting rights.- Fallen World Considerations: Single women, widows, and women in ungodly marriages would be left without representation under male-only voting.- Unity Through Leadership, Not Restriction: Christian families can maintain biblical unity and male leadership while still allowing all members to vote.- Practical Family Example: Families can discuss issues biblically, pray together, and reach unified voting decisions without eliminating anyone's right to participate.Scripture ReferencesRomans 13:1-7 - "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. Back To Basics // Week 7 // PrayerPastors JF and Ashley Wilkerson1. Am I focused on the REWARD...Or the RELATIONSHIP?Matthew 6:5 NIV5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.”Matthew 6:6 NIV6 “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”1. Am I focused on the REWARD...Or the RELATIONSHIP?2. Am I focused on the LIST...Or the LISTENING?Matthew 6:7-8 NIV7 “And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”Biblical Examples of Logos:In the beginning was the Word [logos], and the Word [logos] was with God, and the Word [logos] was God” (John 1:1 NIV).Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word [logos] of truth. (II Timothy 2:15 NIV).Biblical Examples of Rhema:Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word [rhema] about Christ. (Romans 10:17 NIV)Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word [rhema]. (Ephesians 5:25-26 NIV)If you remain in me and my words [rhema] remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (John 15:7 NIV)Matthew 6:9-15 NIV9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'” 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.1. Am I focused on WHAT THEY DID or WHAT HE HAS DONE?Mark 11:24-26 NASB24 Therefore, I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you. 25 Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.”1. What is it that God is calling us to when He says, “Come and worship”? Let's seek to answer that question by looking first at some… Biblical Examples of Worship. The first example is found in Psalm 95. It gives us not only a call to worship, it also provides a pattern for worship. Celebration (v. 1-5) Notice the phrases “sing for joy,” “shout aloud,” and “let us extol Him.” Worship is a time for God's people to celebrate their Lord. Adoration (v. 6-7) Here we're called to “bow down,” to “kneel” before the Lord. It is a quieter, more intimate response.Instruction (v. 8-11) The psalmist says, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” Part of worship is hearing God's Word. Psalm 96 provides us with a few additional insights. The very first word in this psalm is “sing.” Three times in the first two verses, we are told to “sing to the Lord.” This is one of the most common commands in Scripture. This is why singing is such an integral part of our corporate worship gatherings. As you worship the Lord…Sing boldly.Sing thoughtfully.Sing wholeheartedly.Sing skillfully.Something else we see in Psalm 96 is the call to “bring an offering.” (v. 7-9) Giving to God is an act of worship. As such, when we give, we should…Be intentional.Be thoughtful.Be cheerful.Next, let's look at some…Biblical Expressions of Worship. Here are eight Hebrew words, often translated as “praise,” that may revolutionize your worship.1. Halal: to boast; to celebrate; to be vigorously joyful; to be clamorously foolish (Ps. 35:18) Halal is the more common word for “praise” in the Psalms. It's the root from which we get the term “hallelujah.” It's is an explosion of enthusiasm in the act of praising. 2. Tehilla: to sing; to laud (Ps. 33:1) Literally, this is the singing of one's halals. 3. Zamar: to touch the strings; to make music (Ps. 104:33) This is why we use instruments in our worship.4. Shabach: to address in a loud tone; to triumph; to glory (Ps. 145:4) This is a loud verbalization of praise—a shout. 5. Shachah: to bow down; to pay homage; to prostrate oneself; to have the arrogance knocked out (Ps. 96:9) This refers to lying prostrate, flat on your face before the Lord.6. Barak: to kneel down expecting a blessing from God; to bless God as an act of adoration (Ps. 34:1) This is kneeling before God in humility and surrender, but also expectation. 7. Yada: to acknowledge God's character; to make a declaration of worship; to throw out the hand enjoying God (Ps. 63:3-4) This involves lifting our hands to the Lord in worship.8. Todah: to extend hands in thanksgiving and acceptance; to offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving (Ps. 116:17) This also involves the lifting of hands to the Lord, but it more specifically has to do with offering a sacrifice of praise.
