In this podcast Fred Herbert and Tracy Herbert share an interview with Dr. Sylvia Tara. Dr. Tara holds a PhD in biochemistry from the University of California at San Diego and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Her book titled "The Secret Life of Fat: The Science Behind the Body's Least Understood Organ and What It Means for You" goes into detail on how we can finally control our fat by having an understanding of how it works. Dr. Tara talks about how clever your fat is, fat has a mind of its own, it can control itself and it can control your body. Once you figure out what fat is and how clever it is, it changes your whole attitude on how to go about losing fat.
This may sounds crazy but fat is an essential component of our bodies and, in fact, could be considered an organ. Yes, having too much fat could be extremely bad for you and cause a number of chronic diseases, but your body does need some fat to control many essential functions.
