Join us for an exciting and insightful discussion about Biochemist Dr. Sy Garte on his remarkable journey from militant atheism to devout Christianity. For years, Dr. Garte believed God could not possibly exist, a view he held from a family background spanning three generations of atheism. Yet, it was his deep dive into science, particularly biochemistry, that became a significant part of his path to faith.Contrary to the common assumption that biology points away from a creator – a view surprisingly prevalent among many biologists – Dr. Garte argues that the stunning design utterly saturated within life points to a Divine agent. He challenges the idea that evolution alone can explain the origin of biological complexity. While evolution can explain the diversity of life after the first cell (Luca) existed, it requires accurate self-replication, a property unique to life itself, leading to a circular problem when trying to explain origins.Dr. Garte delves into the wonders of biological systems, like the genetic code, which he argues functions as true abstract symbolic information, similar to a language, something natural processes don't produce. He highlights the unsolved mysteries surrounding the origins of essential systems like DNA replication, protein synthesis, and error correction – systems already present in the earliest life form we understand. Exploring concepts like teleology (purpose) in biology, Dr. Garte presents a compelling argument that the origin of life requires something beyond mere natural chemical reactions. This conversation offers a profound look at how the intricate workings of biology can be seen as powerful evidence for a Divine designer.

D.) degree from the Albert Szent-Györgyi School of Medicine, Szeged, Hungary and is a retired Professor of Pediatrics, Endocrinology and Metabolism of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine. Dr. Boros is the co-inventor of the stable isotope-based dynamic metabolic profiling (SIDMAP) technology, which is a functional biochemistry tool used for detailed biochemical and deutenomics related drug testing, library screening, lead optimization and in vitro and in vivo phenotype profiling. The core technology involves studying natural and disease/drug induced variations in stable non-radiating stable 13C (carbon) and 2H (deuterium) isotope distribution patterns and cross talk among metabolites in living systems. He also established mitochondrial quantum vacuum as the prime driving force of all life related energy producing biochemical events. These occur via the quantum destabilization of hydrogen ions, i. e. protons, in structured water of mitochondrial nano-confinements that are compromised by deuterium; hence the regulation of deuterium (deutenomics, human deutenome project) is a critical process to maintain health and longevity.Dr. Boros trained as a house staff in his medical school in gastroenterology after receiving a research training fellowship from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.  Dr. Boros was a visiting Scholar at the Essen School of Medicine in Germany and also worked as a Research Scientist at the Ohio State University, Department of Surgery.  Dr. Boros is the recipient of the C. Williams Hall Outstanding Publication Award from the Academy of Surgical Research of the United States (1997), the Richard E. Weitzman Memorial Research Award from the University of California (2001), the Excellence in Clinical Research Award from the General Clinical Research Center at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (2004) and Public Health Impact Investigator Award of the United States Food and Drug Administration (2011).  Dr. Boros serves as an associate editor for the journals Springer Nature- Scientific Reports, Medicine, Pancreas, Molecules and Metabolomics.SHOWNOTES:

Dupree is a notable cancer researcher and has several research papers already published. And while her entrance into fashion came about unexpectedly, for the industry, Dupree's intelligence and passion could ultimately change what we wear.  This episode is the first in a three-part series exploring how toxic apparel impacts individual health.Fashion's poor environmental reputation is well documented, but oddly enough, toxic textiles have evaded serious scrutiny until now.  The health scare related to the issue is just beginning to gain traction within the fashion community and Dupree does a masterful job explaining the lengthy list of toxins that are knowingly part of the apparel manufacturing process. It is fascinating to listen to a biochemist unapologetically explain the toxic tsunami confronting fashion.  Her credibility and proven research make it clear there are serious public health issues to weigh including the effects on children, fertility, and the long-term consequences of toxins absorbed through the skin. But Dupree takes her research skills well beyond blogging her findings on social media, she's created the website Day Into Eve where she conducts a deep vetting of companies that claim their fashion or lifestyle products are toxic-free.  As of this episode, the Day Into Eve platform lists over 40 companies that have passed Dupree's stringent specifications.Lastly, not surprisingly, Dupree hopes to expand her messaging about toxic textiles through further educating consumers and collaborating with the fashion industry.  Given the fashion industry's history on environmental issues, toxic-free fashion is only a long-term goal rather than a short-term mandate.  In the meantime, the industry should amplify the important work of a young biochemist from Milford, Connecticut!  Enjoy the show!www.dayintoeve.comInstagram @lydia.dupreeTikTok Lydia I Non-Toxic Fashion

The New York Times bestselling author of Deep Nutrition explains how eight common seed oils cause the cellular damage that underlies virtually all chronic disease, exposes the corruption that deceives doctors and consumers alike, and gives us a clear roadmap to recovery and rejuvenation. Did you know that consuming a large serving of french fries—cooked in vegetable oil—delivers the toxicity of smoking 24 cigarettes? Cornell-trained biochemist turned family physician Dr. Cate Shanahan introduces us to well-respected scientists who warn that vegetable oils are a public health disaster, wreaking havoc on our bodies' cells by depleting antioxidants and promoting free radical toxicity. Their many effects include: Uncontrollable hunger, so we need drugs to maintain our weight Inflammatory fat buildup under our skin and within our internal organs and arteries Blood sugar swings that promote bad moods and antisocial behavior Disrupted brain energy, concentration problems, and mental illnesses Intracellular oxidative stress that promotes cancer development Gut inflammation, bloating, heartburn, and the runs Americans were enticed into buying these oils based on their cholesterol-lowering property, but the idea that cholesterol-lowering is beneficial was pushed on us without solid evidence to support it. In Dark Calories, Dr. Cate reveals the financial entanglements between industry and underhanded academics who created and sustain our 1950s-era, arbitrary dietary rules. As a solution, she proposes a clear, no-nonsense plan that aligns with our genetic needs and nature's laws. Thankfully, recovering our health is simplified by the fact that nutrients that treat one condition also tend to treat all the rest. As an added bonus, we also revive our sense of taste so that our cravings shift to wholesome, nourishing foods instead. more: getthefunkoutshow.kuci.org

Wellness + Wisdom | Episode 593 What are the best tools to optimize your brain and body? Mark Effinger, Biochemist and Founder of Nootopia, joins Josh Trent on the Wellness + Wisdom podcast, episode 593, to discuss the powerful positive effects nootropics have on the human brain and body, how to balance Acetylcholine levels, why you need dopamine and drive to obtain best possible results, and the benefits of taking GABA and glutamate supplements. "The way that nootropics work is they affect neurochemicals that are available in your gut: serotonin, adrenaline, norepinephrine, and dopamine. Our ancestors had stress but it wasn't like ours. We are in chronic stress all the time. And because it doesn't necessarily hit instantaneously, meaning the buildup of these toxins is happening but you don't notice when it starts happening. When it suddenly builds up to the point where you have massive brain fog." - Mark Effinger Surplus in Life "Once you start finding that extra 10, 20, 30, or 50% of available surplus in your life, the things that will start showing up that allow you to pause and reflect, and if you internalize them and say "what does that thing mean to me?" I guarantee you will find some event, person, possibility, or opportunity that will become the catalyst for the biggest future." - Mark Effinger Nootropics: The Bridge to Greater Cognitive Capacity "Nootropics can be a bridge to psychedelics. It isn't the euphoria necessarily. It isn't the out-of-body experience. It's not the loss of ego. But it is a bridge to more cognitive bandwidth, more capacity to deal with cognitive load, more opportunity to laterally think, to be creative, to explore some of the things instead of that shrinking in of ourself." - Mark Effinger Links From Today's Show  Mark Effinger Nootopia - 10% off with code: "JOSH10" 497 Mark Effinger | Brain + Mood Optimization: Become Unstoppable With Nootropics Nootropics as Cognitive Enhancers: Types, Dosage and Side Effects of Smart Drugs Collagenius - 10% off with code "JOSH10" Elon Musk My First Million Podcast The Top 5 Neurotransmitters from a Clinical Neurologist's Perspective Charlie Rose Bryan Johnson Clean Fifteen David Goggins Maria Bamford David Sinclair The Last of Us 482 Dave Asprey | Advanced Biohacking For Body Mind & Spirit: How To Train A Healthy Brain, Boost Your Flow State + Remove False Beliefs The Ultimate Nutrition Bible: Easily Create the Perfect Diet that Fits Your Lifestyle, Goals, and Genetics by Matt Gallant and Wade Lightheart Josh's Trusted Products | Up To 40% Off Shop All Products BREATHE - 33% off with the code “PODCAST33” SiPhox - 10% off with code "JOSH" Holy Hydrogen - $100 off with code "JOSH" SinuSonic - 15% off with "JOSH15" Organifi - 20% off with the code ‘WELLNESSFORCE' QI-Shield EMF Device - 20% off with the code "JOSH" SEED Synbiotic - 30% off with the code "JOSHTRENT" BON CHARGE - 15% off with the code "JOSH15" MANNA Vitality - 20% off with the code "JOSH20" SimplyO3 - 10% off with code "JOSH10" Kineon - 10% off with code "JOSH10" Mendi.io - 20% off with the code "JOSH20" Adapt Naturals - 15% off with code "WELLNESSFORCE" SpectraSculpt - 15% off with the code "JOSH15" SaunaSpace - 10% off with the code "JOSH10" Cured Nutrition CBD - 20% off with the code "WELLNESS FORCE" PLUNGE - $150 off with the code “WELLNESSFORCE" LiftMode - 10% off with the code "JOSH10" MitoZen - 10% off with the code “WELLNESSFORCE” Paleovalley - 15% off with the link only NOOTOPIA - 10% off with the code "JOSH10" Activation Products - 20% off with the code “WELLNESSFORCE” SENSATE - $25 off with the code "JOSH25" BiOptimizers - 10% off with the code "JOSH10" ION - 15% off with the code ‘JOSH15' Feel Free from Botanic Tonics - $40 off with the code "WELLNESS40" Essential Oil Wizardry - 10% off with the code "WELLNESSFORCE" ALIVE WATERS - 33% off your first order with the code "JOSH33" Earth Runners Shoes - 10% off with code "JOSH10" DRY FARM WINES - Get an extra bottle of Pure Natural Wine with your order for just 1¢ Drink LMNT - Zero Sugar Hydration: Get your free LMNT Sample Pack, with any purchase Free Resources M21 Wellness Guide - Free 3-Week Breathwork Program with Josh Trent Join Wellness + Wisdom Community Limited Edition: Gold Pumpkin Spice from Organifi Save 20% with code "WELLNESSFORCE" on everyone's favorite Fall treat is here! About Mark Effinger Mark Effinger is a seasoned entrepreneur and intrapreneur with specialties in biochemistry and hormone and brain optimization. He is successful in industries from marketing to lasers to software. Companies turn to him for his clear grasp of the startup-to-sellout process. The death of Mark's former wife from a painkiller overdose put him on the path to creating high-performance nutritional supplements.
