We have something a bit different this month. We speak to Vida Skreb, who is a Neuroscientist and Leadership Coach (and a career changer, too, as it happens). Vida helps us understand why contemplating a career change, or any change for that matter, is so challenging for us humans. We delve into the neuroscience of the brain to find out where our fears and doubts come from, why we procrastinate, and we often avoid change, even when we know it's what we need. By understanding a bit more about what we're up against, Vida describes how to go about making a change in the most brain-friendly way.

Making changes to your life can be terrifying if not overwhelming. But it's also such an important part of moving forward in our lives and progressing towards our goals and dreams. Lately I've been feeling stuck in a lot of the paths of my life, and last week I was able to uncover/release some of what's been in my way to make new changes. This revelation gave me renewed strength to make new changes and to remind myself that I'm in charge of my life.

What do you do when you're stuck? Or when you're in bondage to something you don't know how to get free from? We've all been there at different times. I certainly have been. That's why I'm especially encouraged by Nehemiah 9 because it gives us specific details about how the Israelites moved from being stuck to being changed. They worshipped, remembered, confessed, and ultimately this led to much-desired change. This pattern will look different in each of our lives but the principles hold true. Because we have been set free by Jesus Christ, we are given the power to walk in that freedom. No matter how stuck you are, change is possible because of Him. I hope you'll join me as we look at how the Israelites participated with God and went from a place of bondage to one of freedom—how much more does Jesus want to lead us to change today?
