He authored the New York Times and Washington Post bestseller, Imperial Hubris, originally published anonymously, as required by the Central Intelligence Agency. The former head of the CIA’s Bin Laden Unit, he resigned in November 2004 after nearly two decades of experience in covert action and national security issues related to Afghanistan, South Asia, and the Middle East.
