How can an organization host a highly successful fundraiser as counterprogramming to another popular event? Today, I talk with the Center For Child Protection's Director of Donor Relations Amy Cranfill and Events Manager Kirby Cathey about the organization's annual Play Bingo Ladies Luncheon. Held on a Saturday morning each year, the Play Bingo Ladies Luncheon is one of Austin's most popular fundraising events. The event has over 1,000 people and almost always sells out within 24 hours of the announcement of the event. What makes this feat even all the more remarkable is that this year's luncheon is on the same weekend as a popular worldwide event, The Formula One Grand Prix. In this episode, Amy and Kirby talk about a wide range of topics including tips on getting your audience excited about your event months before it happens, creating a fun, engaging event format, and how to create a successful counterprogramming strategy. This is one episode you will not want to miss.

Christy Dauer from the 2021 Leading Ladies Luncheon Description: As women, we lead busy lives with our families, careers, and communities, especially during a global pandemic. NDWBC knows the achievements of women can be forgotten in the day-to-day hustle, which is why each March (Women’s History Month), we honor and celebrate five women who are making an impact in the history of our state at the Leading Ladies Luncheon. We invite you to celebrate their stories and be part of this line of change-makers in North Dakota. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this episode, you’ll hear a presentation I gave at a recent Orange Appeal’s Ladies Luncheon. Orange Appeal is a magazine that was started by the fabulous mother-daughter duo, Christi Ashby and Kate Slentz, and over the years they’ve created even more wonderful experiences to bring women together. They host the Annual Orlando Women’s Conference which is definitely an event you don’t want to miss! They also organize monthly Ladies Luncheons, bringing together women virtually now as well, to learn, grow, and connect. They are all about celebrating women and lifting them up, which you know is one of my favorite things to do too!I had the opportunity to be a part of the conference this past year and spoke about intentional planning, and they invited me back to expand on my tips and suggestions to help you intentionally get the most out of your day, week, month, and year.I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed sharing. And if you’d like to learn more about Orange Appeal, the wonderful VIRTUAL luncheons they’re hosting, and the conference, check them out online:https://www.facebook.com/orangeappealmaghttps://www.instagram.com/appeal_media/https://www.orangeappeal.com/Sit back, relax and enjoy, and thanks for tuning in! Today's show takes a look back at the North West Simon Communities Little Christmas Black Dress Charity Lunch held in Kilronan Castle on Sunday 5th January. Breifne Earley took a trip to North Roscommon to find out more about the organisation and the work they do in Leitrim, Donegal and Sligo to combat homelessness in the region. He speaks to event organiser Mary McKeon, Development Officer with North West Simon about the event and the record breaking numbers of local ladies who turned out to support the event. Joanne Sweeney, one of the speakers at the event shares her personal story and the importance of putting yourself at the centre of your own world and prioritising your own needs before those around you to ensure that you are best placed to support those around you. Margaret Heffernan, a member of the board of the charity in the region, joins Breifne to speak about the work North West Simon Community does across the Sligo, Leitrim & Donegal region to provide support to people who find themselves homeless or hidden homeless. Kristen O'Reilly spoke to Breifne about her families journey of loss and bereavement when the six young siblings lost both their father and mother in the space of 15 months a number of years ago. Together as a unit and with the support of local community and extended family they helped each other deal with the tragedy and grow as individuals and as a collective. Mike and Paul from Funky Fashion Frolics, a league Irish lifestyle and fashion blog, were on hand to judge the Best Splash of Yellow on the day across all the ladies who took the effort to display the charities colours on the day.

Season 2, Episode 5: 2019 Western Conservation and Hunting Expo with Miles Moretti and Rob Keck Today, on the week that the Western Hunting & Conservation Expo opens, we are celebrating all things Hunt Expo. Steve and Jodi are talking with MDF President/CEO Miles Moretti and renowned voice for conservation, and the master of ceremonies during the Hunt Expo evening banquets, Rob Keck. We talk a little bit about the history of Hunt Expo since MDF and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife took the reins 11 years ago and then focus on what you can expect at this year’s show. There will be over 500 vendors this year in more than 530,000 square feet of exhibit hall space. Miles tells us about the keynote speakers for this year and the scheduled entertainment for the evening banquets, and how to buy your tickets for the show floor and the evening events. We talk about some of the incredible auction items that will be available throughout the event and the online bidding options for those who aren’t able to be in Salt Lake. Miles tells us about the many family activities during the show including the Youth Wildlife Conservation Experience and the Ladies Luncheon, and how this year we not only have the Great Salt Lake waterfowl calling contest but also the new Western Hunting & Conservation Expo elk calling contest as well. The Western Hunting & Conservation is open daily starting on Thursday February 14 through Sunday February 17 in the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Maggie shares her story with the ladies.
We love family celebrations at our home. We think of every excuse to make them happen. It seems that there are parties at our home every week. In this episode I tell you about a special Ladies Luncheon that we have once a year where my daughters and daughters-in-law celebrate our birthdays together. We have so many children’s birthdays throughout the year that we don’t get time to celebrate one another’s. Of course, each one does something special with their own husband, but once a year we do something together in one hit! We planned it this month because my sister-in-law from New Zealand was here with us and we wanted her to join with us. As is our custom, I asked each one present o share something God had been doing in their lives over the past year. Every story was wonderful. We laughed, and we cried. Don’t miss hearing the amazing story about my sister-in-law, Judy! I doubt whether you will have ever heard such a story! Picture: Colin and I (right) visiting with my brother, Grant, and wife Judy in New Zealand. I call them “The Beloveds.” They have a beautiful marriage together. Our daughters call Colin and me “The Darlings” because that is what we always call one another.
Ladies of MDF – Episode 2 Today Jodi kicks Steve off the table to gather some of the ladies helping the Mule Deer Foundation to actively engage women and families in the outdoors. Julie Moretti, wife of MDF President/CEO Miles Moretti, talks about the Ladies Luncheon at the Western Hunting & Conservation Expo. New Mexico MDF Regional Director Colleen Payne tells us about a new program in New Mexico that is inviting women to experience hunting and the outdoors. Sitka Gear and Easton pro-staffer Sarah Laughter, and Colleen, who is pro-staff for Prois, tell us how the industry is adapting to provide women’s-specific gear for sportswomen. And Utah Volunteer of the Year, Sarah Wright, describes the Ladies of MDF’s “Jackpot for Conservation” event scheduled for May 5 in Salt Lake City.
