· ¡POR FIN LLEGÓ LA SEGUNDA PARTE DE ESTE ESPECIAL! · Sabemos que lo pedían a gritos y a gritos festejamos nosotras la llegada de la última parte del especial dedicado a uno de nuestros directores fetiches. Eli y Lari repasan el siglo XXI de Spielberg, pero tuvieron que ser selectivas, ¡TODO FUE INCREÍBLE! Su relación con John Williams y cómo una vez casi no tenemos banda sonora de una película, su fanatismo y admiración por Tom Hanks, su primer largometraje animado, sus próximos proyectos y mucho más. ¡Hay Spielberg para rato y nosotras somos felices sólo con saber que existe! · ¡FELIZ NAVIDAD, MAELAFANS! · Hoy celebramos mientras hacen (y hacemos) la digestión de la cena de Nochebuena con una película que queremos que se convierta en un clásico navideño. Klaus trae muchos de los valores que reconocemos en este tipo de películas, una pizca de magia y una historia alejada de las luces hollywoodenses. ¡Nos encanta! Además, Eli y Lari debaten qué es lo que necesita una película para ser considerada navideña. ¿Acaso "Duro de matar" es más acorde a esta época que "El regalo prometido"? ¡Dale play y disfruta de las sobras de ayer!

· ¡¡¡FELIZ CUMPLE. STEVEN!!! · Llegó el día que tanto esperábamos, hoy Steven Spielberg cumple 74 años y vamos a festejar como si fuéramos realmente parte de su selecto grupo de amigos directores. Es que nuestro amor por el cine empezó por él, MaELa se unió por una de sus producciones y todo lo que toca no sólo se convierte en oro, sino que es palabra santa para nosotras. Sí, así de mucho bancamos al hombre que nos trajo super mega producciones, el que cambió la historia del cine y que fue pionero en cosas que ni te imaginas. Hoy Eli y Lari te van a hablar un poco de eso, pero también van a repasar una tremenda cantidad de películas que dirigió o produjo y te van a contar cuál fue el sello -visible y el no tan sencillo de encontrar- de Steven Spielberg en todo lo que hizo. En esta primera parte del especial, te traemos el cine spielbergiano de los '70, '80 y '90. El primer día del 2021, vamos a acercarte la segunda parte del especial, con mucho del cine del Rey Midas del siglo XXI. Queríamos despedir este extraño 2020 a lo grande, y nada más grande que Steven Spielberg.

· 70 AÑOS DE BIBIDI BABIDI BU'S · Sí, estamos grandes, Disney. En la semana previa a la llegada de Disney+ a Latinoamérica, Eli y Lari se ponen su vestido más brilloso, se hacen un recogido bien cuarentenil, comen mucha calabaza y evitan hablar con los ratones para festejar los 70 años de la princesa de Disney favorita del hombre congelado. Además, repasan su origen, sus muchas versiones y la moraleja que acompaña una de las historias más conocidas por todos. Es que todas tuvimos alguna vez un toque de queda, nos enfrentamos a problemas familiares, le rezamos a nuestra hada madrina y perdimos una zapatilla de cristal. No lo neguemos, todas somos Cenicienta (?). Al final, datos curiosos y ¡mucho amor!

· BABY, BABY I JUST WANNA DO YOU, DO YA! · ¡Chau, chau octubre de terror! Para dejar atrás el susto atemorizante de los últimos cinco viernes, venimos a reírnos durante más de una hora. Es que Eli y Lari no pudieron parar rememorando gloriosos momentos de "Modern Family", la sitcom que trata casi todos los estereotipos y encuentra la forma de hacernos reír de lo ridículo que es que siquiera existan. Fueron 11 temporadas y vamos a hablar DE TODO. ¡Están avisados! Esta vez, al final no dejamos ninguna reflexión. Nos pareció que el tema de cierre vale más que cualquier filosofeada de Mark Ruffalo que pueda decir Lara. ¿Todavía no le diste play al episodio, baby, baby?

· MUCHAS FORMAS DE ATERRORIZAR EN UN SÓLO HOMBRE · Llegó el momento tan esperado por nuestra comunidad, el día de elegir al director del mes de terror. Debemos confesar que dentro del amplio espectro que hay de creadores de horrorosas películas, no pudimos evitar dejarnos llevar por James Wan, hombre que nació en el cine independiente y que duró muy poco en ese ámbito. Eli y Lari incursionarán en su particular estilo, conocerán sus comienzos con "El juego del miedo", temerán por sus aportes al mundo de Annabelle y hablarán del equipo técnico que lo acompaña en cada una de sus realizaciones. Al final, un dato atemorizante. No podíamos ser menos en este octubre de terror.

· LOS VIERNES USAMOS BORDÓ MAELA · El segundo clásico de esta comunidad está lleno de plástico, color rosa y risas (sólo una de estas características es real). Eli y Lari se meten de lleno en LA comedia de nuestra adolescencia y recorren la transformación que Cady Heron pasa en menos de un año. Sí, también hablamos de la transformación que Lindsay Lohan sufrió en una década... Le damos mucho amor a este clásico de Tina Fey que nos dejó muchas moralejas e incontables memes. ¡Amamos Chicas Pesadas! Confiamos en que vas a disfrutar de este episodio tanto como nosotras. In this episode, I chat with Sayyada "Maela" Hyder. Maela is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine who recently applied for residency in ophthalmology. Maela shares her inspiring story about coming to America and overcoming the trials of a new language, a new healthcare system, and being the sole provider for her family. We discuss her journey working 80 hour work weeks while being enrolled in community college, her discovery of ophthalmology through her interest in gene therapy, and her community service work for the underserved. Maela has worked hard to get to where she is and has overcome barriers through determination and grit, she will make a fantastic resident and future colleague in the field, and I can't wait to learn more from her.
