Anfang voriger Woche habe ich einige unserer alten Schwestern im Altenheim besucht und fand unsere älteste Schwester im Sessel sitzend und schwer atmend. Eine Krankenschwester kommt dazu und meint: "Ja das Herz ist schwach und sie ist ja auch schon über 100." Als sie draußen war, meinte die alte Schwester zu mir: "Und, was sind Deine Ziele in der nächsten Zeit?" Ich war ziemlich verblüfft ob dieser Frage und konnte nur antworten, dass ich ja jetzt erstmal sie besuchen und ein wenig bei ihr bleiben würde. Wir haben geplaudert und sie hat sich beruhigt und der Atem ebenso.Vier Tage später liegt sie sterbend in ihrem Bett und ich kann spüren, dass sie etwas will. Und ich höre sie flüstern: "Großer Gott wir loben Dich" – Soll ich das singen? Ja. Also habe ich die erste Strophe gesungen und sie hat ihre Lippen dazu bewegt. Nach der ersten Strophe habe ich aufgehört und sie hat weitergeflüstert: "Alles was Dich preisen kann" – Also habe ich weitergesungen und sie schaute sehr zufrieden und gelöst.Und dann ist mir ihre Frage vom Montag wieder eingefallen: "Und, was sind Deine Ziele in der nächsten Zeit?" Jetzt kann ich antworten, den großen Gott zu loben und zu preisen im Gebet und Gesang, aber auch im normalen alltäglichen Leben. Das genau sind unsere Aufgaben, Pläne und Ziele als Christen. Und wie das geht, sieht ja bei jedem anders aus.Unsere Mitschwester hat ihr ganzes berufliches Leben lang als Krankenschwester gearbeitet, war in einigen Konventen Oberin, um sich um das Wohl der Schwestern zu kümmern und hat zehntausende von Gebetszeiten in ihren Konventen mitgebetet. Und auch seit ihrer Zeit im Schwesternaltenheim hat sie nie aufgehört, sich um Mitschwestern zu kümmern und zu sorgen, Laudes und Vesper gemeinsam zu beten, zur Heiligen Messe zu gehen und den Rosenkranz zu beten. Und wenn der Abstand zwischen den monatlichen Bibelgesprächen mal etwas größer war, hat sie immer gefragt, wann es denn endlich wieder stattfindet, das miteinander darüber nachzudenken, was ein Wort aus der Bibel für ihr eigenes Leben bedeuten könnte. Sie beeindruckt mich, seitdem ich sie kenne und seit einigen Tagen bleibt in mir und vielleicht auch für Sie daheim die Frage, die sie mir gestellt hat: "Und, was sind Deine Ziele in der nächsten Zeit?"

This week, we explore muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). This space has made significant progress with the completion of two pivotal trials. The first was VESPER, comparing two chemotherapy regimens. The key to this trial may be the amount of cisplatin delivered, but there are some unknowns in a real-world setting. It also compared the neoadjuvant to the perioperative space.
