I know as I release this podcast, a lot of men are going to look at the title and immediately write it off. “A real man,” after all, “doesn’t care how he looks.” While it’s a phrase I hear quite often, it just isn’t true. Washington, Alexander the Great, Theodore Roosevelt and, more recently, Jordan Peterson (to name a few) are all men who knew the usefulness of their appearance. That, to me, is the power of being conscious of your style – not to peacock, but to perform. And, today, I’m joined by my friend and a man extremely qualified to talk about how to level up your style. His name is Aaron Marino of Alpha M and today, we talk about the functionality of style, how what you wear communicates to people who you are, how dressing well helps instill a sense of respect in yourself, and how improved style improves your life. SHOW HIGHLIGHTS Being well-groomed A competitive world You’re personal brand Opportunity for improvement Taking the next step Dressing with purpose Identifying body type Stretching your budget Ask for assistance Assessing yourself Stay simple and classic Looking too young Decision fatigue Finding congruency Your best foot forward AARON MARINO My guest today is a longtime friend and supporter of Order of Man, Aaron Marino. I met Aaron years ago when I attended his men’s conference, StyleCon (which later became Menfluential) and have been able to get to know him, his background as a gym owner and, later, someone who would go on to help millions of men level up their style, appearance, and confidence. He’s got over 6,000,000 YouTube Subscribers and owns multiple businesses but it’s been a long road to get to this point. And, today we talk about that journey and why he knows style is a powerful tool in every man’s toolbelt. 30 DAYS TO BATTLE READY Gents, we now have nearly 10,000 men who have gone through the new (and free) Battle Ready program. I am literally getting dozens or more emails a day from those of you are going through the process or have completed and I’m stoked to know that it is making a difference in your life. Too many men have no idea what the hell they should be doing with their lives and how to ensure they’re on the right track. And, while this course, won’t do the work for you or guarantee your results, it will point you in the right direction and give you a track to run on regardless of what your goals are. As I was preparing my morning routine, it dawned on me that I hadn't message Antonio back from last year. Having come to Thailand, Antonio was in the resort city of Hua Hin, sucking in the sunshine and enjoying family time. He was, however, arranging a meetup in Bangkok, Thailand. Myself, teaching just outside Bangkok (at the time), emailed him and was excited to finally meet him.Unfortunately the plans fell through and that was the end of that (back in 2017). A thought came across my mind and I emailed him about bringing him on my podcast. After sending a few emails to his assistant, we agreed on a time to bring him on and now yes, the founder of www.realmenrealstyle.com and the unbelievably popular Youtube channel -- is here. Shownotes: RealMenRealStyle.com/Episode100 What if you could transform your brand into more than just products or services? Whether it's your marketing agency or dropshipping business, can you turn your business into an experience or even a multi-day event? The answer is yes. You might be thinking that what you sell isn't material for a conference. But that's where you are mistaken. It turns out passion for a brand is a reason to meet with others who share that passion and want to connect with each other. Today, I am discussing my experience building the very popular conference Menfluential, formerly known as StyleCon, where members of the Real Men Real Style community gather every year to connect with each other Are you looking to hear the secrets to building a successful experience for your brand? If so, download this episode of Real Men Real Style now to hear the details. 5 Things Menfluential Can Teach You: Make a positive environment and political barriers disappear Develop multi-day events with virtual tickets to maximize attendance Name your events according to what's happening inside them Encourage vulnerability by having people share their stories You never know what ideas will sprout out of new businesses Highlights: Deliver content tailored to the medium for your audience. Start small when taking on new entrepreneurial endeavors. Approach new ventures with the mindset of not wanting to lose money. Always try to improve with new projects. Make environments motivational and people will have positive experiences. Sell virtual tickets to widen audience while keeping attendance low. When people share their wounds, others will follow suit. Create a place where your audience feel comfortable asking questions. Thank your customers. Mindset Takeaway: Create an environment where people feel positively supported and you have a business.
