One thing many of us take for granted is the smell of our breath. It's right under your nose, so you can't notice what's going on. You're too used to it. Even though you can't smell it, everyone else can. It could be costing you in your personal and business life. Think about it, do you want to be in a close negotiation with someone who smells? Do you want to kiss someone who smells? It can make you worried that there's something worse going on in there. Luckily, this is a pretty simple thing to fix. The first thing is, if you smoke - stop. Your breath is always going to smell horrible to anyone who isn't a smoker themselves. Secondly, most of the bad smell in someone's mouth comes from bacteria growing. This bacteria isn't too difficult to get rid of, but you have to remain dedicated. I'm going to give you ten tricks on how to eliminate bad breath that won't take more time in your day: and are super effective. Download this episode today to learn how you can stop being offensive with your breath and be someone people want to be close to. 10 Tips to Eliminate Bad Breath: Drink water Chew gum Brush your teeth properly Use a tongue scraper Floss Mouthwash Timing Diet Keep your gums healthy Don't smoke Highlights: Bacteria is what emits most odor Drinking water will help eliminate the bacteria. Start your day by drinking water. Saliva production slows when you are sleeping. A sugarless gum will help you produce more saliva. Chewing gum can also help when you don't have time to brush your teeth. If you swallow gum, it's fine. Your tongue has the most surface area. Flossing isn't as important, but food stuck in your teeth can cause bad smells. Mouthwash may not prevent cavities, but it does kill bacteria and freshen your breath. Do your teeth maintenance after meals. Certain foods can cause a smell through your lungs. Cinnamon and crisp fruits/vegetables can help as well. Red wine can also cut back on bacteria in the mouth. Talk to your dentist about your gums. Gums can permanently recede. Tobacco guarantees bad breath - cut it out if you can. In none of this works, talk to you doctor in case there's something worse. Mindset Takeaway: You don't want people to avoid you because of your breathe.

View the full show notes and resources at RealMenRealStyle.com/109 When is the last time you really thought about the eye contact that you're giving to people? Chances are, you're sending off signals you don't want to. For example, if you don't give people enough eye contact you can seem rude. You also make the person feel as if they are boring, and that you aren't interested - even if that's not the case. On the other hand, if you give them too much eye contact it can seem aggressive. They may become intimidated, and quite frankly, think you're being an ass. So what is the right amount of eye contact? Well, it's honestly a complicated answer. It can change with the culture you are in, as well as the situation. A good rule of thumb here in North America, though, is the 50/70 rule. When speaking, make eye contact 50% of the time. When listening, make eye contact 70% of the time. I really wanted to dive further into this topic and go over all the complexities of the discussion. I came up with guideline of 10 Eye Contact Mistakes I commonly see people making, and I'm going to share them all with you in detail on this episode. Download this episode of the Real Men Real Style Podcast known to learn how you can use your eyes to give off the right message. 10 Eye Contact Mistakes: Not Enough Eye Contact Too Much Eye Contact Not Knowing Cultural Norms Maintaining Eye Contact Reading Too Much Into Other People's Eye Contact Eye Contact in Authority Don't Look Away Too Quickly Not Establishing Eye Contact at the Start Not Listening with Your Eyes MAKE EYE CONTACT Highlights: In North America there's a 50/70 rule. When speaking, look at the person 50% of the time. When listening, look at the person 70% of the time. Eye contact rules are different all over the world. Sometimes eye contact is seen as aggressive. Learn the cultural rules of where you are visiting, and the people you deal with. Most guys think a girl who makes eye contact with them, want them. Not giving enough contact can make you seem weak. Don't let your eyes dart away. To avoid nervous eye contact, count in your head. 3 to 5 seconds in the best amount of time to look at someone when you meet them. Don't stare at people's feet or looking away. Eye contact show that you are paying attention. If you're not listening with your eyes, it can be disrespectful. Don't get caught staring off. Pick one eye to look at. Try to discover what color their eyes really are. Do not stare at a woman's breasts when you are speaking to her. You have to practice giving eye contact. Record yourself giving presentations or talking to people. Nothing feels natural at first. Mindset Takeaway: Your eye contact can make or break what people think of you.   View the full show notes and resources at RealMenRealStyle.com/109

Chances are you may be in for a rude awakening, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't go for it. In reality when we wear new clothes what we expect to happen doesn't. Women probably won't compliment you because they are afraid you will think they are hitting on them and they worry things will go in the wrong direction fast. When you walk into the office looking sharp you probably don't get a lot of people mentioning your outfit. It's not because they don't like it, or that they don't notice it. You will make an impression, people usually just aren't vocal about it. And it's also important to remember that just like a new pair of shoes, you have to break in your style. There's going to be things about what you are wearing you will have to get used to and you won't know what they are until you start wearing it for a long time. Maybe wearing a suit jacket makes you feel too warm at first, because you're used to the A/C blowing directly on you. Maybe those dress socks will get itchy because you're os used to wearing short white gym socks. I'm not here to discourage you from upping your game when it comes to your style. Quite the opposite. Only the right clothing will make you look great When you level up your style everyone will notice. Most people don't care about your style. You're going to rock your new fashion. You need to build confidence before wearing clothes out. You're going to get compliments from women.    More men will notice your style change. More money = better quality. Most brands are way overpriced. You're going to rock a new hairstyle. Your hair either looks terrible or you can't reproduce what the barber did You'll stop shaving and have a beard in a month. After a month you're going to have an itchy scruff. Highlights: You have to nail fit, fabric, and function. When you buy something off the rack take it to a tailor to have it fitted. Find the right brand that works for your body type. Get the best fabric you can afford. Go with classic styles so they last. People you interact with will be subliminally influenced by your attire. Even if they don't say anything, people will notice. Women are more reserved about giving compliments. Women worry men will think their compliment means they are hitting on them. Overpriced brands are older and generally bought out by someone else. Find groups and online forums that discuss the quality of brands. People who write reviews are either super happy or super upset. Don't be afraid to go to the barber and ask them what they did. Right after a haircut, take a photo. Pay attention to the brush and products the barber used. Most people take 6 months to a year to grow a beard. Mindset Takeaway: To really rock a style it takes time and confidence. Show Notes: RealMenRealStyle.com/Episode99

For this episode of the Real Men Real Style podcast I've decided to go into detail on 25 of my style pet peeves. Some of these things even I used to break because I didn't know. Today, when I see people break these rules, I don't get angry or try to publicly shame them. I nicely, privately and respectfully explain to them what they are doing wrong, so they can up their game in the future. Download this episode now to learn some of the most common style mistakes people make. 25 of My Style Pet Peeves: When people say they don't care about their style, then judge everyone else. Square toed shoes. Sagging pants. No socks. White socks outside the gym. Off proportions. Overuse of fragrance. Long and oversized t-shirts. Oversized logos. Badly fitted suits. Jackets without a pocket square. Buttoning bottom button of a jacket. Men who follow rules without understanding why. Men that correct other men in public. Not removing tack stitching or brand labels. Dark shoes with light trousers. Running shoes with everything. Wearing Crocs. Fully buttoned dress shirts with no tie. Dressing oblivious to the unwritten dress code. Unpolished shoes. Badly wrinkled clothing. Pajamas in public. Bright green, red blue, and black “dress shirts”. Don't be a snob. Highlights: Most snap judgments are made off how people look. A lot of people who claim they don't care about style are just lazy or too busy. Square toed shoes are for pilgrims and don't look good on anyone. No one wants to see your underwear or your butt crack. You can buy no-show socks. Not wearing socks will damage your shoes. White socks are for athletics only. Skinny ties don't go with wide lapels. Big men shouldn't wear skinny jeans. People around you don't want to have to smell you continuously - even if you smell great. Most stores offer free suit adjustments. A suit is meant to make you look better, make sure they are tailored properly. Suit Jackets, Blazers, Sports Coats, all have breast pockets for a reason. Two button suits are not meant to have the bottom button buttoned. Style rules were created for a reason, know why so you know when they do and don't apply. Don't public embarrass somebody, try to raise up their self-esteem. Invest in more than one pair of shoes, and have multiple color choices. Crocs are not good-looking shoes. There is always a dress code anywhere you go. If you spend money on your dress shoes, take care of them. Ironing shirts and pressing trousers doesn't take much work. Bright shirts are not designed for dress shirts, they are for clubbing and partying. Mindset Takeaway: Be the person who pulls people up when they don't know as much as you, don't knock them down. Show Notes: RealMenRealStyle.com/Episode93 I've recently received some letter from people asking me what to do if the ladies don't respond to dressing well. Some people think that the women they are around prefer guys in street clothes, and that may not be the route you want to go. Luckily, it's has nothing to do with what you are wearing. Your clothes are just one element of your overall image. When it comes to dating, there's probably a lot of other things that can be going wrong. You may not have the confidence to pull of your look yet. You may be lacking in some social skills, and are coming off as either too aggressive or like you don't want people to talk to you. This kind of thing happens all the time, and guys don't even know it. On this episode of the Real Men Real Style Podcast, I'm going to do in depth on the three main reasons the ladies probably aren't responding to you. Download this episode today to see how you can up your game with the ladies. 3 Areas to Improve to Get a Lady's Attention: Level up your social skills. Wear clothing you are confident in. Some women simply won't like you. Highlights: Your problems aren't style. Clothing is just one element of your personal image. Don't be afraid to make eye contact. Learn the proper way to approach a woman, it takes practice. Know what topics not to talk about. Humor shows levels of intelligence. Women love to laugh. Be aware of your body language. Don't come across as overly aggressive or that you don't want people in your personal space. At some point have that person touch you, or you touch them (appropriately). Some materials invite people to touch you. Own your look and be confident, or you're just in a costume. Is the look appropriate for the situation? Dating is a numbers game. Only a small percentage of women out there are going to be attracted to you. Different women are attracted to different things. Be sure to have your own standards. There are so many types out there, and many men mistakenly think that just because shoes are black they can go with any level of formality. When we think of skin care, we typically think it's for women. In all honesty, it's not. A man has to take care of himself just as much, if not more, than a woman. We are commonly exposed to more dirt, more chemicals, and hazardous materials due to the nature of our work. Most men often don't realize how much harm is being done until it's too late. One day they look in the mirror and realize they look like they are twenty years older than they really are. This can be a big problem, because sadly agism is a real thing. You don't want to lose out on the job or that girl just because you didn't take care of your skin. Once the damage is done, it's too late - but that doesn't mean it's too late to prevent more damage from happening right now. On this episode of the Real Men Real Style podcast, Antonio discusses the 7 skin care mistakes that most men make. Not going to an Esthetician. Not wearing sun block. Having a cleaning routine. The importance of diet. Wash your pillowcase and sheets often. Go see a dermatologist. Highlights: Most men don't take enough effort to take care of their skin. Agism is real. When you pop a pimple you are pushing germs back into a pimple. Use a cold compress on pimples for 3-5 minutes. Cotton swabs can be use to drain pimples. 1-2% salicylic acid products help open the pores. Estheticians are readily available to treat your skin. Find a high zinc sunscreen (15-20%). Zinc helps protect UVA and UVB rays. A facial cleansing routine is important - especially at night. Routines will help you find the right product for you. Your bad skin may cause by the foods you are eating. Wash your pillowcase weekly. A dermatologist should be seen at least once a year. Detecting problems early is your best bet. Even an expensive shirt will look cheap if the fit is wrong. The shoulder points need to be right. If buttons stretch on the front, don't buy it. Don't buy shirts with sleeves that are too short. If you raise your arms and your shirt comes untucked it's too short. Extra material from the bottom of the shirt can be used to repair shirts. Know your own measurements to accurately buy online. You want to be able to fit two fingers in between your collar and neck. Measure your best fitting shirt. Have 10 white and blue shirts, they are the most versatile. Small repeating patterns are fine, but won't be formal. Larger patterns, dots, and florals, are much more casual. Cotton is a good default and durable fabric. Linens are very breathable with the right weave and thickness. Silk is too much maintenance. Twill weave is more durable. Look for 10-12 stitches per inch. Three types of collars: spread, point, and casual collars. 3 types of cuffs: Single button cuff, two button cuff, french cuff Most men don't need a split yoke. Dress shirts shouldn't have pockets. Pockets make a dress shirt more casual. Covered pockets make it very casual. Epaulets were originally to display rank, and make a shirt more casual. Buttons should match closely in color to the shirt. Mother of pearl buttons are an add on, but much nicer. Sometimes shirts have a gusset to give more durability. Dress shirts should always be tucked in. Mindset Takeaway: When looking for the perfect dress shirt think fit, fabric, function. Show Notes: RealMenRealStyle.com/Episode81 Our education system doesn't teach you how to be successful in life - it teaches you how to get by. You are by teachers that failing is bad, that you have to follow the rules, and that there are solid equations to solve problems. In the real world all of this is false. In order to be successful you have to fail. A lot. It's the only way to find the real answer, which are never as easy as 1 + 1 = 2 in the real world. In the real world there are emotions at play, and people rarely follow the logical route. Lastly rules aren't set in stone. They are guidelines, and flexible as you are trying to find your way to success. When you reach the top, you set the rules and that's the position you want to be in. On this episode of Real Men Real Style we look at ten things school doesn't teach you that you need to know if you want to be successful. Download this episode today and get on track and rid yourself of the bad habits you've developed due to America's educational system. 10 Secrets School Doesn't Teach You: Go the extra mile. Make  daily investment in learning something new. Share you work with others and develop trust. Making money is a great thing. Think about abundance, not scarcity. You can break the rules. Fail fast, pick yourself up, and try again. You need to become a great negotiator. Your view is one out of billions. Emotion trumps logic. Highlights: You want to learn how to spot mistake early. There's no guarantee you will get amazing teachers. School teaches you how to do enough to get by. Going above and beyond will set you apart. Experiment and learn something new all the time In order for you to do a great job you have to rely on teamwork. A one man team can not have as much of a reach. This a world of abundance and we can create wealth. One plus one doesn't always equal two in business. Rules are guidelines, and can be ok to stray away. Play a game where you can create the rules. In school we try to avoid failure. Failure in life doesn't mean it's over - you can try again. Don't suffer from learned helplessness. There is a psychology to negotiating. Most of us are unfamiliar with other countries and their history. Tests and exams are based on logic, but most of what happens in life are based on emotions. Of course not. It's important to know the proper way to dress, and sometimes the answer may not be so obvious. You may not want to wear a suit and tie to an interview with a startup in Silicon Valley. Casual meetings are to get to know each other outside of business. Casual does not mean sloppy. In most situations you can wear nice shorts. Being casual is about being approachable. Real Men Real Style started as a way to help customers and consumers. Most men don't present themselves well. Society says it doesn't matter how you look, but it really does. Not all content Antonio's team creates is produced. Recording a podcast is a less complicated and more relaxed process than a video. Things need to be simple or they won't get done. What you do with your legs can actually affect your mentality, as well as the signals you are giving off to other people. Believe it or not, when you sit with your legs crossed this can send off negative signals to people. It makes you appear closed off, and like you aren't listening. This can cause problems in business - especially if you are trying to negotiate. In fact there was even a study by Gerard I. Nierenberg and Henry H. Calero that showed out of 2,000 negotiations that were recorded, not a single one ended with legs being crossed. That's a pretty definitive conclusion. Download this episode of Real Men Real Style to hear more about what signals your legs may be unintentionally sending off. 5 Sitting Positions: Legs out front with the knees together. Legs out front with the knees spread. Leg over leg cross position. Figure 4 leg cross position position. Ankle-lock position. Highlights: The way you placed your legs when you sit sends a message. It indicates where you are from. If someone sits with their legs crossed that normally don't, it can be a signal that something is wrong. The further something is from your body, the less you think about the action it takes. You have to have observed someone's normal behavior to get an idea about their verbal behavior. Be respectful with how wide you have your legs spread. Wider spread legs shows dominance. Someone bouncing their legs shows that they are nervous. Leg over leg is more common in Europe. Figure 4 leg shows a higher status and is more common in America. When making decisions or negotiations, you shouldn't have your legs crossed. If you are a natural leg crosser, you may be sending a negative signal. Mindset Takeaway: Understand that your leg position has an affect on you and others. The important thing is to make mistakes and try new things, that's the only way to find what really fits you. Download this episode today to get unique tips on creating a style all your own. 10 Unconventional Style Tips: Go make style mistakes. Don't take your clothing to a tailor. Wear white or black whenever you want. Long sleeve shirts in the summer. Short sleeve polos with a jacket. Using electric, disposable, and cartridge razors. Dress for yourself. Formal with informal matching. Create a uniform. Have the courage to be the best dressed man in the room. Highlights: It's possible for you to write the rules yourself and create your own game. If you always stay in the lines you'll never find the real boundaries for you. You can learn to adjust your clothes yourself. Find the right brand for your body type. Wearing white sends the signal that you have the money to let your clothing be trashed. If you have the confidence to pull off a bold color, go for it. Less clothes doesn't mean you are cooler. Lighter colored breathable fabrics will help reflect and protect. If it's hot, wear and unlined jacket with a polo shirt to keep cool. This will give you a more casual look. A high quality polo can even work with a casual suit. Try each razor to find what you personally need. Think about what you represent, and dress for that man. You can mix and create interesting combinations with formal and casual clothing. When you find what look is right for you, repeat the style again and again. Get different variations, not exact duplicates. You want to stand out, but not be a cartoon character. Don't let the environment you are in dictate the way you dress. If you have to wear a specific uniform, pay attention to its fit and presentation.   Mindset Takeaway: If you aren't making mistakes, you aren't trying. We all like to think that we don't, or shouldn't, judge people based on their appearance. Unfortunately, that's just not true. People will always judge you based on how you look. How you look can instantly establish the amount of respect you'll get from clients and potential bosses. In fact most people are never properly instructed on how to match their clothing, and they are really doing themselves a disservice by not putting thought into their attire. Let me ask you, when you walk into a room do you want people to think you look like a clown? Do you want to spend your entire time at an interview, or meeting with someone and they just can't get past what you're wearing or do you want them to acknowledge you look good and then move on to focus on you and your skills? To do this you really need to know the basic rules of matching and really think about what you are going to wear each morning. Levels of formality. Match leathers. Match metals. Highlights: Style is simplicity. It allows people to move on from your clothes and look at your skills. Think through your outfit, don't get lucky. Matching is when fabrics are the same. Complementing is when items work together and play off each other. Look at people in the spotlight that you like their look. If you imitate the masters you will pick up on their techniques. Some pieces are made to go with certain clothing. Know the difference between casual and formal. You can't throw a leather jacket over a suit, you'll bring down the outfit. The three main leathers are black, brown and oxblood. Don't have a harsh contrast between shades of leather. Decide what colors you gravitate toward and pick a belt that fits. Keep your metals the same. Wedding bands don't follow this rule. These rules are all basic rules, and are not set in stone. Society was built on refining things, seeing what works and what doesn't. Menswear is no different. There are items that have survived centuries, or more, that are still popular today and are definitely worth you looking more into. Do you know what you would find in your bathroom that you would also find in an ancient Egyptian's, or a Roman soldier's?  On this episode of Real Men Real Style, Antonio takes a close look at 7 menswear items that have held up over the centuries. He looks at what has kept these trends alive and well, and why you should still be using them. You might be surprised to find that some of the ancient items- that are readily available in most stores- are actually superior to some of our more modern inventions. Download this episode of Real Men Real Style to open your mind to the past, and get in touch with Menswear items that will keep you classy. 7 Menswear Items That Have Been Around for 100 Years: Single-blade razors After shave Pomades Vest Bowtie Suspenders Hats, pinned collars, club collar, hidden button collars, boutonnieres, ascots, pocket watches, casual silk scarves  Highlights: If an item has been around for 100 years, it's doing something right. The two single blade razors out there are the straight razor and the safety razor. One straight razor can last you the rest of your life. Even the Egyptians used straight razors. Hair is associated with not being clean. Most men think cartridge razors are the only option. Cartridge razors lift hairs on the face, which can cause ingrown hairs. It can be hard to get to smaller areas with a cartridge razor. A shaving brush helps lift hairs and get a closer shave. The reason aftershaves were important was because they prevented infections. Aftershave also helps with irritations caused from shaving. Most after shaves don't sting anymore. Romans used pomades as a soap. Pomade has shine, and strength for hold. Look for a water based pomade. Vest originally developed to add more warmth while allowing movement. Eventually they were developed to hide the waist area. Bowtie has the same formality as a necktie and can make you stand out. Neck ties can get in the way. Bow ties resolve that problem. If you want to build trust and confidence, wear a bow tie. Suspenders were made before belts were invented, are more comfortable than a belt, and help disperse the weight. Try to wear suspenders with buttons, not with clips. Some collars can come off as pretentious, but can make you stand out in a positive way. Find a hat that is functional and get comfortable with it. A hat can become a part of your style, and that's when you start to look really good. When French soldiers were going into the trenches of WWI, their loved ones would pin flowers to their lapels. Knights often times wore flowers. What makes flowers beautiful is the fact that they won't be around for long. Ascots, pocket watches, and casual silk scarves can be more for the dandy. Show Notes: RealMenRealStyle.com/Episode67 Have you ever gone into a shoe store and had someone tell you a bunch of terms you didn't understand about the shoes? Did they tell you a Goodyear Welt is the best or that a Blake Stitch will irritate your feet? Well, these may not be true. The best thing you can do is arm yourself with knowledge before you start looking for a shoe. Everyone wants to protect their feet while looking good. When it comes down to how shoes are made there are 3 types of construction. None of them are better than they others, but they all certainly have their own advantages and disadvantages. If you are the kind of person that goes through soles faster than most people you may want one type. If you need something more waterproof you'll probably want a different style. Download this episode of Real Men Real Style to learn how footwear is made, and find the type that will suit your lifestyle. The 3 Types of Show Construction: Cementing Goodyear Welt Blake Stitch Highlights: Upper is the section that is the leather portion covering the foot. The insole is the material inside the shoe that touches your foot. Outsole is on the exterior of the shoe, that touches the ground. Welt is found on higher end shoes. It's the strip of leather that runs around the border of outsole. Last is a 3D model of a foot used to maintain shape of shoe during construction. Cementing is the most common construction. Uses an adhesive to connect the sole to the upper. Best used with a rubber sole, not leather. Advantage: Inexpensive. Disadvantages: Will fall apart and generally not worth getting resoled. Goodyear Welt is a stitching along the outside of the upper. Bottom of the upper is shaped over the last and stitched on the outside. Makes resoling much easier. Advantages: Considerably waterproof, most cobblers can resole, and the shoe can be sewn yourself. Disadvantage: Much more expensive, and don't have much flexibility Blake stitch is stitched on the inside of the shoe. Requires specialized machines to resole. Advantages: Get advantages of Goodyear Welt at a lower price, can get resoled, upper and lower connect looks better, and much more flexible. Disadvantage: Is not as water resistant as Goodyear Welt, it has to be sent to special shops to be resoled which is more expensive, and the interior stitching can irritate some people's feet. Mindset Takeaway: It's important to know the shoe construction for your particular needs and wants. Show Notes: RealMenRealStyle.com/Episode66 Dating today is very complicated. It can be tough just to find a woman. Once you finally get a girl to say yes then you're put into a whole new awkward situation: who should pay for the date? Some women get upset if you don't pay, others get insulted if you do pay. So what's the right answer? Unfortunately, it's not as clear cut as it was for my father's generation. It used to be that if you were a man, you paid. End of story. We are seeing a shift in our society's mindset on the issue. More and more women are feeling that a man shouldn't pay, or at least shouldn't feel obligated to. In fact a study showed that 3 out of 10 women think a man shouldn't pay. On this episode of Real Men Real Style we discuss the response to this question from 10 women at the top of their field. From journalists, to comedians, to academic scholars you'll hear the wide range of answers. You'll be surprised at how similar, yet different, all of their answers were. Listen to this episode today to hear how you can avoid the awkward and frustrating moment of what to do when the check comes. 10 Opinions About Who Should Pay:  A dating coach said a man should take the old school approach and pay. A journalist feels the person who asks for the date should pay. A sex blogger felt each date should be paid 50/50. A comedienne thinks you should consider who makes an average of 19.7% more money. A model/actress thinks a man has to spend money to impress a girl. An academic feminist feels a man shouldn't try to buy a woman. A weightlifter feels that it's up to the guy to make the gesture. A reporter feels you should pay for the right reasons. A feminist writer feels that it shouldn't matter who pays. A porn star insists a man should be willing to go all the way. Highlights: Figure out pretty quick how a woman you are dating feels about who pays. Think about who invited who. Is it personal or is it business? Paying can also be a way to thank someone for their time. Try to settle the payment before ordering the food. Consider who is drinking and how much. 7 out of 10 women think a man should pay. A man needs to have table manners, and shouldn't talk about himself too much. Just because you spent money doesn't mean you are entitled to the woman. It's not the fact that you pay, but the reason why you are doing it that matters. Mindset Takeaway: Know your date's feelings about who pays before anyone even orders. 65: The Abomination of Skinny Jeans

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 7, 2017 13:30

Show Notes: RealMenRealStyle.com/Episode65 Skinny jeans are a huge style right now. Rock stars wear them, movie stars wear them, and the skinny jeans section is taking over the men's department. You shouldn't buy into the trend for several reasons. The first is that you probably don't look good wearing them. Skinny jeans are designed for men with a VERY particular body type. Believe it or not the way you look in them is the least of your worries. A study in English showed that half of the men wearing these trousers are developing health problems. There is a huge increase in discomforts, urinary tract infections, bladder infections, and even twisted testicles!   When picking your jeans you should consider the function of your pants as well as your health. Jeans were designed for cowboys, to move and ride freely while taking a beating. Skinny jeans go against this design making it almost impossible to run in. If you can't fit a wallet into the pocket, how are you supposed to make a proper stride? 7 Reasons to Hate Skinny Jeans: Skinny jeans can cause low sperm count. They can increase the chances of urinary tract infection. They literally twist your testicles. Many men wearing them have the wrong body type. The low rise of the inseam makes your torso look odd. You can't use your pockets. Skinny jeans are an image of attraction, not an image of power. Highlights: Most men don't look good in skinny jeans. A study with 2,000 british men in tight jeans showed a lot of urinary tract infections, a lot of twisted testicls, and a lot of bladder weaknesses. 50% of men had a growing discomfort. 25% suffered from bladder problems. 20% had a twisted testicle. 25% wear them to prove they can still fit into them. 40% wear them to be stylish instead of being comfortable. Tight jeans lead to over activity of the bladder, resulting in infections. Dr's suggest you leave room for comfort so you aren't being restricted in any way. Function comes before fashion. Skinny jeans make it harder to walk and run in. Don't put fashion and style above health. Choose slim fit or straight instead of skinny jeans. Most men are better off having an image of power, not an image of attraction. Mindset Takeaway: Skinny jeans are a hazard to health and fashion.
