Today On the Dogwatch we have the pleasure of talking with Antonio Centeno, a former member of the 3rd Battalion 1st Marines out of Camp Pendleton, who you may know better as the founder of the website and Youtube channel Real Men Real Style, as well as other business ventures. In this episode, Antonio discusses the green military notebook he kept as a Marine Officer, how he used it in one direction to keep track of daily activities, troop movements, casualties, and then turned it over and in the reverse direction documented things like his finances, and notes to help him determine if he should get married. In good Antonio style, his journal generates discussion not only about notebooks, but also a range of other subjects including Indiana Jones, management, the Eisenhower Matrix, and the evolution of sharks.

On his website, Antonio Centeno lists the businesses he owns. They include Real Men Real Style, a blog and a YouTube channel with millions of readers and subscribers. Menfluential Media is an influencer ad network. And there's Vitaman.com, a direct-to-consumer seller of organic skin and hair products for men. Centeno launched the site in early 2020.

You can impress others by looking good and feeling good. I remember the moment I told my wife that I just need to start looking better in the way I dressed. I needed to be more fashionable. I had no idea where to start so I YouTubed. I followed real men real style and our guest, Antonio Centeno, for some time and made changes I learned from him. It is amazing the changes that took place in my life just by dressing better.

‘You can’t judge a book by its cover,’ the saying goes. And that’s absolutely true...for books. But when it comes to people, appearances really do matter. We all make subconscious judgments about other people based on their personal grooming and clothing habits. Sometimes our snap judgments don’t align with reality. As I was preparing my morning routine, it dawned on me that I hadn't message Antonio back from last year. Having come to Thailand, Antonio was in the resort city of Hua Hin, sucking in the sunshine and enjoying family time. He was, however, arranging a meetup in Bangkok, Thailand.
