In 2021, the Netflix horror film, https://www.darkdiscussions.com/podcasts/dark-discussions-podcast/dark-discussions-podcast-episode-483-the-block-island-sound-2021/ (THE BLOCK ISLAND SOUND), was released and it got very strong reviews by critics with a 90% rating on the Rotten Tomatoes website.  It portrays itself as a supernatural thriller but based off what we see, it throws in a large science fiction aspect that turns the film into something quite different than most folks may have thought when watching the trailer. The film was written and directed by Rhode Island native brothers Matthew and Kevin McManus while starring their sister Michaela McManus.  But this isn't from your regular indy directors.  The McManus brothers have worked on such programs as COBRA KAI and AMERICAN VANDAL.
